  1. Turn my back for a couple of weeks and I'm missing all the tips?! Glad to see youre alive and kicking Bob, read the patent topic and it sounds like youre busier than ever, hows everything else going these days?
  2. Not the biggest shock in the world to see nobodies attempted an update :022: Shall get it sorted Monday, been mega busy in work lately, taking a few days off this week.
  3. Looking back, the way we went up last time was f-ing ridiculous Think the team that went up last time would beat the current side about 4-1, could get just as exciting.
  4. Going back to my last posts, after Saturday it was out of our hands again (ie. even if we won every game it could still get away from us) but after tonights results, its ours again :) Goal difference shouldnt be a problem if we win every game :)
  5. Alot to ask but I see no reason why we cant win every single match between now and the end of the season, looking at each on a game to game basis at least I see no reason, as above that means just worrying about ourselves. The good news after Saturday is that its upto us if we want to win it or not again, the bad news is it'll hurt even more when we inevitablly drop points. The two teams abov us dont seem as capable as we are, but then they will know now that draws against us is all thats required.
  6. Wouldnt of mattered if we'd won every single game before today Alex, assuming County or Dundee won all their games (obviously both couldnt do that given they have to play each other). But as far as I make it, it is actualy back in our hands. Points so far + potential points left Dundee 44 +39 = 83 Ross County 39 +48 = 87 Inverness CT 37 +45 = 82 Partick Thistle 35 +39 = 78 Queen of Sth 33 +48 = 81 So from our perspective, we know that if we are to take the max number of points between now and the end of the season, then Ross County and Dundee will both have to lose 6 of their potential max points totals... leaving 1. Inverness CT 82 2. Ross County 81 3. Dundee 77 The point is that as far as I can tell, its back in our hands, if County had picked up all 3 points today it wouldnt have mattered if we beat them twice and won every other game, we would've still been looking for them to drop points. A good day :024:
  7. Without getting the calculator out, am I right in saying that us going up is now back in our own hands?
  8. Bloody hell Bob, good to hear you made it out, isnt a safe place for anybody out there and as you say your skin colour made you a target. I've only ever met one Nigerian and he told me his country was doomed, that was 3 years ago and it doesnt sound like its changed much. In the town he came from there was a scandal involving a catholic priest, he was telling people to bring condoms to his church so they could destroy them, somehow went from that to AK47's and gang warfare..! This guy sent money back from the UK for his sister to goto school as soon as he arrived here, she was killed 18 months ago, I think one of his parents were killed aswell. Seems crazy when you consider that 50 years ago they had some of the highest literacy rates and healthcare in Africa, I seem to remember being taught that they and Uganda came out of colonialism the best, with all their natural resources they should be a rich country by now. Thought it was Cameroon you were off too? Like I said its good to see you back on here.
  9. Ah yes, forgot about this, I'll sort it pronto.
  10. I'll get round to this tomorrow night...
  11. Sadly Mantis, the standard IS poor, Dundee are considered by far the best in the section and their midfield consists of Ritchie Hart and Brian Kerr... Give me a break! We should be wiping the floor with this division, we have too many players that are better than the best the rest can throw at us. Why isnt it happening? Who knows... I actually have faith in Butcher mind. The first division was at its weakest for years when we got up, even then it was by the skin of our teeth, much stronger now despite how weak it actually is.
  12. Didnt we have a few seasons in a row of beating the champions at the end of the season? Hope this fixture isnt an omen.
  13. Ok then, what would you have done at 2-1? Clacher???? Chill Winston! I'm here.. As soon as Dundee scored the writing was on the wall, I wouldve sent on Odhiambo for Sanchez and pressed home the point of keeping the ball (that means being brave and confident enough to play balls backwards/sideways for a spell, instead of players tryign to find room up front they shouldve been taking the room that was available in our own half)while he chased everything Dundee tried to build at the back, failing that we couldve instructed somebody to start tearing lumps out of their frontline, illegal or not. This attack is the best form of defence stuff posted on here is true in most cases but the emphasis shouldve been placed on consolidation for at least 10 minutes, once the goal went in our players started running around like headless chickens, nobody was supporting anybody else. IMO that instant change wouldve given us a chance of regrouping, when I say the team wasnt prepared its obvious that no gameplan was laid out for them should they go a goal down, be it go forward or hold back. If everybody knew what they had to do should Dundee score then you wouldve seen one of our players pick the ball out of the net themselves, the subs instantly warming up and whatever positional changes required to be put in place before we had the chance to kick off again, we wouldve re-focused and concentrated as we did in the first half, instead we were all over the place. You cant possibly be saying that because the team played well in the first half that there should not have been a plan B? The team playing well in the first half, playing well last season, playing well 10 years ago... all things that happened in the past, doesnt matter if the spells of quality football were 15 minutes or a decade ago, we cant look back at them and say things were ok so lets not prepare for the worst. It wasnt as if Dundees first goal was a fluke, they worked the ball into a dangerous position and put it in the net, the only reasons not to change at that point is laziness and complacency.
  14. Ah its a Freerole... (sharp as always). I'll register to boost numbers.
  15. I'll buy in but cant guarantee I'll make it, supposed to be going out Friday-Saturday and Sunday this weekend
  16. Turnout was mediocre as expectations for the season have become mediocre. If we were top or even second in the league, or even if we had pumped County 4-0, then you wouldve found a far less apathetic ICT support. The only fans that you will here 'it was too wet', 'its too expensive', 'its a diddy cup' from are the fed up ones regardless of what it is thats fedding them up (league so far, derby games, relegation, poor fare at home... anything), which is a hell of alot of people. Well done to everybody that played their part though, top effort.
  17. A better question would be 'What would you have done when Dundee made it 2-1?'. As has been said, there wasnt alot there needing changed at HT, the players fitness shouldnt have been an issue when thinking of subs as the phsychological boost from the scoreboard wouldve had them buzzing. At 2-1, changes had to be made instantly to kill Dundees spirits and lift our own, why our players looked surprised I still dont know, they didnt react at all, they hadnt been prepared.
  18. Unreal, thought this was on the iplayer. Here I am suffering form a bout of man flu listening to it, couldve gone ffs
  19. According to the rules, in the event of a postponement the "stake" i.e. your 10 poinst will be reimbursed unless you ammend your original choice. Correct..
  20. I'm not exaggerating here, I havent had a full day off in 18 days :oops01: I automatically start getitng double time when working 6 in a trot though so I dont mind.. will update on Wednesday..
  21. Congrats RIG, been following this thread on and off for a while and knew you were having a s**t time of it. I had to come out of my lurking state to at the last post above, impossible to resist.
  22. Suicide I read, apparently his daughter died a few years ago and he mentioned it the day of his death. RIP
  23. Also noticed that he was only 51, for some reason I thought he was older than that, theres no reason a fit and healthy Pele couldnt have a role within ICT some day.
