  1. "I have also brought people to this club and, on reflection, feel that I should remain with them to try and continue the good work.My focus is now firmly on that." well said thierry
  2. I don't think anybody is denying that eventually the club wouldv'e had to build a new ground. We could've picked a less ridiculous location and stadium design however, even if it meant staying in Telford Street another couple of seasons, we should've waited.
  3. Leveins problem with Scotland was the same as Burleys, hes far too passive and incapable of making an impact on the players over just a 3-4 day windows before matches. Its the opposite reason I think Strachan or Souness would be superb Scotland managers, neither are capable of working with players for more than 4 days at a time but are big enough characters to make an impact over a short period of time. Mostly off topic but I'd ignore Leveins record as Scotland boss.
  4. Apparently Pep's off to Arsenal with Wenger going to PSG. Robbo's a top guy and did superb when he first arrived, he turning inconsistent raw players with potential, into a team of athletes and winners. He also got us started in the SPL with the right attitude and work ethic, we dont need that now. Lots of potential replacements out there, lets just hope we have to wait until the summer to bring one in. This whole drama with TB should serve us well one way or another.
  5. in 100 years time I fully expect us to be playing down the bucht. It might take 99 years for that to happen but I'm sure we'll move eventually.
  6. one of the few who deserved the dodgy keeper chant imo
  7. Paul Sheerin or Barry Wilson are two ex players I'd welcome back, can't think of any more who have gone into coaching off the top of my head.
  8. Well a lack of experience hasnt stopped us hiring in the past. Had Brewster managed anywhere before us? Chalrie Christie certainly didn't, that was my main gripe with his appointment, even if he'd spent a season or two at Elgin, Peterhead etc I'd have been more supportive.
  9. I do like the idea of going for somebody who is proving themselves in the lower leagues, that's how the pyramid is supposed to work, certainly beats any of the merry-go-round SPL old boys that get touted about whenever a job comes up.
  10. Time will tell if a change does us any good or not, cant say any prediction (positive or negative) is foolish or spot on, its jsut a prediction. Save that for May.
  11. no evidence to say it wont work, up until christmas on our first season back in the SPL we were the same number of points off top (or less?) and still ended up in the bottom six.
  12. im not buying the nice guy routine, nor am i putting any stock in his high profile playing career, hes a poor tactician and the majority of his stay in inverness has hardly been spectacular. hes signed good players and thats about it, obviously the current squad like him and malpas but they can be replaced. a good shake up will put an end to my fears of complacency. even if a player or two go, i think we'll still finish the year strong no matter who is in charge. next season could be another matter lol
  13. ill be more confident about the rest of this season if he does go.
  14. have we agreed on the number of anti-merger folk yet? how many fans does this club even have? about 6-7k turned out to see us lift the first division trophy a couple of times, about the same followed us to hampden for the cup semi finals, thats got to be about it i reckon. any bright sparks want to figure out the ratio of pro-merger fans to anti-merger fans?
  15. Brewster with derelict Adams as his assistant?
  16. reef, if these hundreds of die hard caley/thistle fans really exist, why didn't they vote to save their clubs from death?
  17. I watched Barnsley play I think it was Sheffield Wednesday not that long ago, they really pushed in the second half but the quality was dire, we'd have put a few past Wednesday that night. This could be career suicide for Butcher if he goes, he needs time to get his own players in, he wont have it at Barnsley.
  18. That's a bonus, wouldn't fancy Malpas taking over. Quite excited about this news really, if true.
  19. TBH I'm not fussed if he stays or goes. He won us the first division, got us to the challenge cup final and kept us in the SPL for 2 seasons. I'd say he has achieved about par for what we would expect. On our first season back in the SPL, we were in 3/4th just behind Celtic and Rangers until Christmas, it all went a bit flat in the new year and we ended up in the bottom 6. Same could happen this year, I actually think a bit of a shake up would do us the world of good. On the other hand, he is a top bloke and the players obviously really enjoy working with the guy, that would be a far bigger miss than anything he brings as a coach. He superb at bringing through young players aswell, its been forced on him but theres not been that many misjudgements, certainly no more than anybody else would make. Being this is winter, I'd much rather he stayed, he should take a chance on us finishing in a decent league position and maybe winning a trophy before looking at his options in the summer. Until then hes won nothing, maybe for his own sake he should take the bigger contract while its on offer? I'd imagine the length of the deal theyre offering will be the biggest factor in his decision making, he won't leave for a 1 year deal no matter the salary.
  20. Barry Wilson maybe? I know hes only just started out as the Wick Academy manager but theyre doing pretty bloody well this season, sitting 1 point in second with a game in hand. I think he reads the game pretty well, which is something that Butcher is guilty of not always doing, Wilsons been a pundit on MFR a couple of times now and his insights are decent, easy from the commentary bx though. Maybe if not manager then surely he can be brought in as an assistant?
  21. watching a game against killie that lasted 15minutes
  22. you know youre an ICT fan when you wait 33 games for Liam Keogh to score his first goal, then wonder if he might be better off in midfield still one of our best players ever
  23. Why do people think I'm critisising the team? I'm criticising the bloody fans! Heres a rundown of last minute goals for and against us this season... i know this should be on another thread St Mirren 2-2 Inverness CT D.McGregor Goal 90+2' -2 points Hearts 2-2 Inverness CT 90+4' Goal C.Pepper +1 point Inverness CT 1-1 St Johnstone 90+2' Goal D.Robertson -2 points Inverness CT 1-1 Hearts 90' Penalty Goal M.Zaliukas (pen) -2 Points Dundee Utd 4-4 Inverness CT J.Daly (pen) Penalty Goal 90+3' -2 Points 4 points dropped at home through poor tactics and tired legs, 8 points overall, both are problems that should've been fixed. There's other games where we have won points and lost them in the final 10 minutes of matches but you can excuse that. Looking on the BBC, we've been in front in 8 of our 11 home games (Motherwell, Celtic and St Mirren) and only won 4 of them, do you think maybe the 11 men behind the ball to hang on tactic doesn't work?
