  1. It isnt difficult for everybody to have a go at updating the table, all they have to do is deduct 10 points from each score and then add the odds*10 for the winning bets, it takes all of 2 minutes to do. CMIB.... a 'master spreadsheet' is not required when simply subtracting 10 from another number :swear02: however I would agree that using a spreadsheet of some form does make the whole thing look more professional and keeps this whoel section of the site looking smarter. Gringo.. there is no question whatsoever that the prize money alone made the 08-09 season the joy that it was. The updating of the table served more as a tool for gloating than anything else. As well as the battle for the podium there were chunky side bets further down the field, like I say this season has 100% shown me up and its with some guilt that I admit its been boring as hell on here without a decent prize. That wasnt my fault, it was the fault of the players involved.
  2. Anybody can update the table, you don't have to be a mod to do it, as I said throughout!! In the season before last, 4 different people updated the table from week to week, not a moan at the players this time, I expected it. Those who were updating the table the season before were motivated by big prize money (3,500 altogether, huge prize for a free comp of this size) so pretty much every week over the final half of the season was incredibly tense, there was no sense of that at all this year and none of the crapping yersell banter @ 4.45pm every Saturday. Sadly I think its shown me up, aswell as others, if there isnt money at stake its difficult to hold an interest. Very well done though, would be interesting to compare the final scores of the winners with me Caley_D and Jody's last year.
  3. Christ, you can tell its summertime.. Happy birthday folks!
  4. That would be class, I think Butcher is the man to keep Keane quiet.
  5. Forgot about the Europa League, i quite like watching the Scottish teams being done over every year, Ross being there wouldve been hard to take.
  6. I'd probably agree with that A96, but then the majority of ICT fans are oblivious to the opinions of Ross County fans hold on Inverness or its football team, for me personally no rivalry existed until I started befriending Ross County supporters.
  7. I've had one or two but hardly a skinfull... Just surprised to see anybody following County today after the abuse we took when we were relegated.
  8. Bit of a rant there but you get the point, none of us have any need to prop up their numbers.
  9. Interesting that its been mentioned here- the likes of me, who wanted County to lose today, do not understand the mentality of Highland football. As I said in the other thread, the ICT fans I've come across who were supporting Ross County today, all hail from a generation where there was a perceived barrier between the Highlands and the Rest of Scotland. Having spent a hell of alot more time living outside of Inverness than within it this past 10 years (I'm 27), I can assure those 'Highlands' supporters that the boundary between you and the rest of the world only exists in your head, any solidarity you feel with other Highlanders when faced with going 'down South' is not reflected down here. I suspect having that mentality has nothing to do with the Highlands Football history and more to do with the fact you were raised in a non-digital era, where the low population of the Highlands made it unattractive for the media to report on anything that was going on and served only to re enforce the belief that the Highlands in some way were persecuted. Right now I can read about the the live fire zones in the Bangkok protests, what my flatmate had for dinner and find out what a shemale and a dwarf get upto when theres a camera's rolling... big world out there, I've room in my life for ICT and nae other football team. F**k the Ross County fans who laughed when we got relegated and f**k the Highlands that does very little for almost all of its inhabitants, I've no time for either.
  10. Personally delighted with the result. It's possible to over think football, its a simple game full of simple people, the issue 'should an ICT fan support Ross County or not' is a personal choice for whoever is making it. Every true ICT supporter I know was firmly against them today and those who were cheering them on were fairweather supporters, many of whom come from an age in which the A9 was seen as a barrier to the rest of Scotland and havent quite caught up with the fact they can fly from Inverness airport to anywhere in the world within 24 hours, these peoples political, racial and personal perceptions will mirror their views on football rivalries, they simply havent caught up yet and are blissfully unaware that your average Ross County supporter HATES us. It's probably not fair to call these people 'fairweather' fans but its appropriate, it just means they are irregular, they made up the vast majority of County's support today. I don't remember any Dundee United fans laughing when we got relegated and I've never heard their fans singing anything anti-ICT or Inverness in general, as I couldnt say the same thing about Ross County the decision on who to back to today was a no brainer!
  11. Whoever it is, lets hope they dont bring too much cringe with them.
  12. As soon as they are put up I'll get on it.
  13. I want to go mad and celebrate (+I did have a few tonight) but I'm held back by the fact that I know deep down we have only put ourselves back in the league we should've always been playing in, we should never have been relegated from the SPL. But well done the lads and well done everybody who stuck by them this year, an amazing achievement.
  14. One of my fondest memeories of living in Brighton was flicking through the Argus to find out just how AWFUL Lewes were doing. If ICT played Lewes tomorrow then ICT would win about 12-0 before easing off, I know Lewes aint a pub team but its a measure of the difference in standards for you! Enjoy

  16. Harder than it sounds guys, be happy with 1 in a row!
  17. I learned a hard lesson this time last year!
  18. One game at a time ffs. Don't talk or think about Ayr until after Saturday, we'll jinx it.
  19. Getting there guys, took a sneaky day off work today so feel like I should attempt something productive for once!
  20. Lucky! Very good though.
  21. Got my prices well wrong last week! Didnt have Dundee losing to Dunfirmline on the cards, oh well hope you had something on.
  22. Is it raining with a strong wind in Lanzarote today? It is here in Edinburgh but then it always is.. I take it from all that youre looking forward to Nova Scotia again, dont know why you left there in the first place, suppose it had to be done. I was reading about Nigeria the other day on my break, theres a few oil companies out there with itchy feet at the thought of the goverment making it more expensive to drill for the stuff in their country. The article I was reading couldnt decide if it was a good thing or a bad thing, good in the sense that there will be alot of money flowing in (and out) of the region but bad because it gives the locals something to fight over, brings corruption into politics etc. Seems their ******, they are as greedy as we are but dont have the infrastructure in place to stop gangs and crooks helping themselves, making it impossible for those who want to benifit legitimately have a chance. It really is a hell of a place.
  23. Dundee only won 3 away games all year, 6 of their last 8 are away from home. Ross County started playing 2 games a week 2 weeks ago, because they got to the semi final of the cup they have to carry on playing 2 a week till almost the last week of the season. That said I would wait until after the ICT v County game tomorrow night, if we win we'll go odds on for the league, if we dont then we'll go odds against and County will move up the reckoning, I would guess the odds shift for us if we win will be around 8/11, however our actual chances of winning will be much higher than that shift implies. Also if we lose and we go 11/8, the shift against our chances will be far greater than the odds suggest. Wait till after the game, if we win it becomes a good bet at anything 8/11 and up, if we lose then youve saved yourself some cash :021:
