  1. Personally, I don't consider lager as proper beer anyway, except perhaps for some of the Belgium ones. Living here in south Englandshire, we are spoiled for choice with good real ales. Some of my favourites are Greene King's 'Old Speckled Hen', and Marston's 'Tanglefoot', but there are loads of others I wouldn't turm my nose up at.
  2. ffs Mr Asterisk, it was already clear to most of us that Scarlet had his assessment of you spot on. You don't have to continually prove it. Give it a rest!
  3. I wasn't at the game in Perth so can't comment on that. I was at Hampden for the ICT semi v Dunfermline however. Total crowd was about 14000, maybe as has been suggested, the smallest at a semi. However ICT's share was way over 1200. We were only marginally outnumbered by Dunfermline, so assuming c2000 neutrals, I would have thought the remainder would have been split 7000 to Dunfermline and 5000 to ICT.
  4. I remember him too playing for Caley, although I think he was just a wee bit later than the greatest Caley side containing 'Ginger' Mckenzie, et al. Probably mid to late 50s I would have guessed at. Lived in Avoch on Black Isle I believe in thsose days.
  5. Strange! McGuire had, by all accounts, his best game for us in ages, last week - and gets dropped!
  6. Wasn't the Balmoral restaurant on Queensgate too?
  7. 1. 12 Angry men (I'm surprised this has not had a mention so far!) 2. The Sting 3. Shawshank redemption 4. Casablanca 5. Jungle book (because I watch it all the time with my grandchildren!)
  8. Could be worse! Semi final a distinct possibility now.
  9. Someone, tell that man the lady has gone!
  10. I can't remember a season when we have had such a run of "easy" games at the start. Had we not gifted Hamilton and St Mirren these wins we would have been top of the SPL! I just hope our failure to capitalise on the "easy" start to the season does not come back and bite us.
  11. CB I'm sure you forgot to 'take away the number you first thought of' in that equation. Still, not bad! Your old physics teacher would be proud of you. In my day it was an old dear we called "Parrot face". Can't even remember her proper name now.
  12. A positive, I suppose so, but Livingstone are not exactly the benchmark I would want to judge our success against!
  13. Great to see a lot of the well known junior teams in the draw. I feel sorry for Wick, Brora and Forres with such long journies for possibly no reward!
  14. "On yonder hill there stood a coo ....." William McGonigal
  15. Very good description. Unfortunately it would not surprise me if he's in the frame. Still, maybe he'll keep Barton under control. Btw, you must be a glutton for punishment supporting Newcastle. I think their board has rivalled even ICT's for incompetence over the last few years.
  16. I must say I am disappointed, but not surprised, at Faldo's two wild card picks. It was pretty clear that he had given them both the 'unofficial' nod before they went off this week , chasing the big money in the US. If they had both gone to Gleneagles to fight for their places via the European Tour, I would have had more respect for them. Omitting Darren Clarke is a sin, and personally I would have had Monty with him. But Faldo is always nothing if not contraversial. Its a pity in my view that his undoubted skill on the golf course is countered bya total lack of personality and even humour. The Americans must be loving it to see our team without Monty and Clarke. I just hope the added confidence it will undoubtedly give the US is not our undoing in Kentucky.
  17. You're slipping up IHE - a constructive post, no less. And one I completely agree with. Quick, pass me the smelling salts!
  18. Good to see that we can at least score penalties!
