I've lived in Englandshire for 40 years. I can truthfully say I've never had a problem presenting a Scottish Bank note anywhere (banks, shops, clubs etc etc). I've heard of people who (allegedly) have had Scottish notes refused, but I've never actually met one. As a laugh, on the rare (believe that if you like) occasions I lose at golf, I sometimes pay with a Scottish note , just to wind up my opponent.

I think tmftj got it right re Romania's tactics, and their 'superstar', Mutu, let them down, big time. Not a lot our man could have done with so little of the ball, but what he did do, I thought he did OK, and was a little unlucky to get hooked after an hour. I'd just like to thank Marius for giving me, and I'm sure hundreds of other ICT fans, an interest in this tournament. It has been like watching a Scotland campaign, so near but yet so far. I even had the same feeling of nervousness and anticipation before Romania's matches, and to see Marius yesterday lining up at the start singing their National Anthem, brought the same feeling of pride I get watching Scotland. Thanks again, Marius, and I hope we have the priviledge of seeing you in an ICT shirt for some time to come.

Unless Romania lose by 3 goals or more, when either France or Italy even if they draw, would have to proceed to the last 8, so, I guess, would need a shoot out. Perhaps UEFA are just catering for this possibility?

Personally, as I've said on other threads, I'd rather sign him up on an extended contract. Not only would that be good for the team, but it would enhance his value enormously if he were to maintain his form and make Romania's world cup team in two years time.

After last night's results there is now a reasonable chance of Romania proceeding to last 8, and therefore more chance to see Marius perform. As I see it, Netherlands could easily field a weakened team for final group match, giving Romania a realistic chance of winning it, or, if Italy/France draw, Romania could even lose by up to 2 goals and still go through. Lets keep hoping!

Anthony Stokes doesn't seem to be setting the heather alight with Sunderland. Maybe he'd like another loan period with an SPL side. He was certainly a regular goalscorer when he was with Falkirk, as we know to our cost!

I very much doubt if we would want him. If we had, I'm sure we would have heard something by now. Strikes me that Juanjo made the contact to get the trial and I would guess he is well past his best, both fitness wise and performance wise.

Ronaldo a luxury? You're having a laugh aren't you? 42 goals last season. Some luxury. How many did Drogba get? OK I know he'd get a few more if he stayed on his feet for more than a few seconds at a time, but I know who I'd rather have in any team of mine. That said, I don't expect Portugal to win Euro 2008, but they will do well.
