But that's only 1 point out of 12 in last 4 home games.. Not good enough! Would be relegation form but for our great start to the season. We'll do well to stay in top 6 I fear.- 133 replies

It is a pity for the fans who have wasted time and money. But I can't help thinking it is no bad thing. Another defeat today would have been the last straw for many of us. Gives us a little bit more time to regroup after a dire Xmas/New Year period. wonder if Raven would have played???

Most of this forum will agree with you, redandblack. We've been clamouring for Raven's return for several games now. We always look a better side with him at right back, as he proved so well in second half v Dons.

3 home defeats on the trot is not acceptable under any circumstances. Whether the team is unsettled because of Butcher leaving, or whether the new manager is changing things for the worse, I don't know, but he has to get it right soon. I don't fancy our chances at 'Well on Saturday. Is that 3 games in a row Hughes has stuck with the same starting line up, despite many of us thinking that Raven should have been back after the Aberdeen game. The defence seems to be 'all over the place', and apart from the three against the Dons, goals are scarce too. Sadly, the season looks like tailing off into mediocrity, after such a brilliant start. Lets hope we get it right before the Cup matches.

I've said it before, and I repeat, get Sam Winnall back. He is scoring goals 'for fun' in EPL2

Leaving Raven out again is a joke. The experiment of Shinnie at right back had run its course a couple of games ago. Doesn't Yogi read this forum!!!

Totally agree with Yngwie. I know he has never had more than about 15 mins to prove himself, but , for me, he doesn't cut it. Get Sam Winnal back. At least he has shown he van score goals in EPL2!

Matchday Thread Inverness CT -V- Celtic

I've said it before, we play much better with Raven at right back. Shinnie has been OK ish there, but maybe he was ' missing' when Commons had a free run down that side today for their early goal. Celtic were there for the taking today, they never got out of first gear. Nevertheless, we are still the second best team in the division, which is, realistically, the best we could have hoped for. Let's consolidate now, and make sure we claim that second spot. It is there for us to grab. Come on ICT, do us supporters proud, and secure that which is rightfully ours! -

Apart from being caught out early on, we've not been outplayed by this Celtic team. Every chance we could do something in the second half. Pretend we're four down and maybe we'll be ok. -

Great chance for McKay on the half hour mark. Think he was surprised that he had a virtually free header. -

Yet another goal from an attack on our right. Raven should be in there. -

Disappointed not to see Raven start. Thought he'd earned a recall from his display against Dons.- 25 replies

Matchday Thread Inverness CT -V- Aberdeen
Caley Mad In Berks replied to Scotty's topic in Caley Thistle
Well, I'll give our new manager credit for his half time team talk! Great fight back, and even 'what might have been' if Draper's great header had gone in at 2-4 down. But the second half performance doesn't make up for our complete capitulation after Meekings' crazy mistake for the first goal, after we had been well on top possession-wise at that point. We were just torn apart by Aberdeen's direct style of play in the latter stages of the first half. Poor defending for most of the goals. I thought Warren could have done better for the second goal, and Doran was to blame for the third, losing the ball too easily in the middle of the park. Maybe its just me, but I always think we look a better side with Raven playing. All these recent clean sheets probably prove me wrong, but I don't like Shinnie at right back. Don't know why Ross was hooked. I'd have had Doran off. I think he has been a passenger most of this season. If I'd written this at half time, I'd have been much more critical of much of the team. But I'm encouraged by the spirit shown in the second half, which I hope will continue, so I'm prepared to wait and see how we do in the next few games, before being super critical of some of the individual performances. I had four local friends watching this game with me. All of them thought that the football played by both sides was pretty good at times. Not a bad advert for Scottish football. -

I'd love to see Lennon go there, only to be binned by the mad Malaysian a few months down the track!

I thought Clarke's sacking was harsh, particularly after how well he did for WBA last season. But I suppose we should not be surprised by anything that happens in the total rat race which English football, particularly at the top level, has become. I've always maintained that foreign ownership, especially 'absentee' owners' is bad for the long term health of the game. Clarke won't be the only one in the next few weeks. I don't fancy AVB's chances after today's result!

These stats on the game don't look great! Maybe we'll nick one 'against the head', if you don't mind rugby terminology. Come on lads, let's see Yogi off to a good start. -
