Let's hope he soars to the heights today, gets his claws firmly stuck into the Pars, and gives us some golden moments.

Livingston FC
Personally, I don't think we should glory in the fact that any team is going to the wall, however much we dislike them. That's two Scottish teams in just over two years. Its a pretty fine line between solvency and going out of business. I know both Gretna and Livingston took the route of 'rich benefactors', and who can blame them, only to be let down in the end. Its no different here in England. Even at premiership level, it only needs some of the multi millionaire owners to tire of their new toy, and the clubs would be left in queer street.

Matchday Thread: ICT -V- Montrose
Wasn't at the game, nor at any of the pre season 'waste of time' friendlies, but I have to agree with our Montrose supporter who has accurately assessed the mentality of a lot, maybe most, of our so called supporters. ffs what did you expect? We were a poor SPL side last year, and probably deserved to be relegated, even though I blame TB for not keeping us up when we were virtually safe with three games to go. But, beating half a dozen Highland league teams is not in my opinion adequate preparation for a season when we have to compete with, and beat, the likes of Dundee, Dunfermline, Partick, and even Ross County. Look forward to a few more disappoinments fellow ICT supporters. Having said that, I hope I can can on here at the end of the season and eat my words.

Matchday Thread: ICT -V- Montrose
Begs the question as to how useful all these friendlies versus Highland League opposition really are!

Best goal ever
Lionel's bicycle kick goal in all the friendlies so far this season! At least Caley D should agree with me!
-
Team for elgin and huntly
Back in the dark ages (1950s), I saw Caley play two games in a day, on more than one occasion, with virtually the same team out. No substitutes then either!

Sound Familiar?
I don't think there is much chance of Ince doing a 'Brewster' second time round. MK Dons are a decent side and I'm sure they'll be contenders for promotion next season.

Who Would You Bring Back?
First mention of Marius, I think, on this thread!. I'd settle for those three.

England Under 21's.
Or ICT ?

Wood and Vigurs (including assault charge)
If the report is accurate that the attack only happened on Sunday, the incident can have nothing to do with the reason for his release from ICT, which happened weeks ago.
-
Wood and Vigurs (including assault charge)
I'm still gobsmacked that our new manager let them go, (especially Vigurs), apparently with little attempt at keeping them. Hope he knows what he's doing. To me they seemed exactly the type of players who would have benefitted with a season or two in SFL. Now they'll get this experience with County. I sincerely hope we don't regret it.

Signings For Next Season
Can't argue with that! I must say Obi really looked useful in his short stint v Falkirk. Very worthwhile holding on to.
-
Mixu Resigns!
What about Tony Mowbery back to Hibs? They could do a lot worse.
-
Signings For Next Season
For once, I agree with Renegade.
-
Back To The Top Policy?
They had a good challenge, and failed, when it was well within their grasp to achieve it. Next season will be even harder.

Contracts (merged)
Another surprising decision by big Tel. Surely Vigurs is exactly the type of player to keep, young, great potential, and relatively inexpensive. Is the glitter beginning to fade from Tel's halo now I wonder. Speaking personally, I think that he made some surprising team selections (positional) after the split, which directly contributed to our dismal performances (in the last two games at least), and therefore to our relegation. This after being virtually safe 3 games ago. However it seems to most ICT fans that Tel is above criticism. They should speak to one of my friends who is a Brentford fan.

Burnley V Sheffield United
Well done Burnley, and Owen Coyle in particular. When we played them in the pre season friendly, who'd have predicted the differing fortunes of the two clubs at season's end?

Bring Back Bayne
Personally, I wouldn't bring back anyone who had left ICT, for whatever reason. Especially Bayne. OK, he's a grafter, but he just doesn't score goals, even in Div 1!

Matchday Thread: Ict -v- Falkirk
Agree 100%. Not that most people's idol, big Tel, will be blamed at all. However, in truth, over the season, we just were not SPL quality.

Agree about Barrowman,Rooney and Odhiambo, but I wouldn't touch the other 3, purely because I don't think you can ever go back. Just remember their time at ICT fondly.

Agree. Imrie was his usual greedy self and Lionel was an utter joke. I shuuder to think how many of other teams goals have come down our left and for me today also highlighted the that we NEED a goalscorer. I tend to agree about Imrie, and yes, we've needed a goal scorer all season. But to say Lionel was gash today is just stupid. What game were you watching ffs. He made several good clearances, and the odd foray forward. All the defence was stretched after Tokeley's sending off but Lionel was no worse than any of the others. He seems to have become an easy target for many so called supporters who are either too blinkered or too stupid to watch a game objectively.

Matchday Thread: Ict -v- Falkirk
What a massive disappointment. Now the recriminations will start. Everyone will be blamed - the board, the previous manager, etc etc. In truth, we haven't been SPL standard most of the time. In fact I think we'll struggle against the likes of Dunfermline and Dundee next season. Doubt if we'll be serious contenders for promotion for a while. Could even be, that at my age, I'll not see ICT in the top flight again. Anyway, at least I'll have many happy memories. Growing up in Inverness in the 50s, the chances of seeing top division football in Inverness were about the same as sending a man to the moon. Yet both happened. So I'll try and remain optimistic. But right now, all I want to do is cry!

Good luck messages
I'm just off to watch the match on Setanta with 2 English pals I've 'converted' over the years. I've never felt this nervous, even before the St J game a few years ago. GOOD Luck to all the team, management and supporters.

Lionel
ffs IHE you're going soft. Never thought I'd hear you admit you might have been wrong.

That's what I've worked out too. Not very likely, so I'm afraid we just mustn't lose to Falkirk.
