  1. By my rekonning, using your rules, we will have won the league after beating Dunfermline on 17th April.
  2. You mean to say you don't have it delivered?
  3. Great result today. As I predicted on another thread, the BA cabin crew strike prevented my planned trip north today. However a pal of mine who supports Reading had a spare season ticket for their match against West Brom today, so I went to that. I had my phone tuned into the BBC sport website monitoring ICT's score for the whole game. When I saw that Rooney had put us ahead, those sitting around me must have thought I'd gone loopy for letting out a cheer at what was a rare quiet spell in Reading's match. Like ICT, Reading have had a great unbeaten league run over the past ten weeks or so. Long may it continue for both of them.
  4. the 109/119 go up past the ground- 109/119 Timetable I usually take the subway from Buchannan St to St Georges Cross (a couple of stops) and walk up Maryhill Road. At the top, near the ground you'll see Muns Vaults where usually a number of ICT supporters gather pre match.
  5. i thought they were putting on another carrier?? for people in your position I wish it was that simple! I've been told I can have a refund, rebook for sometime in the future, or take my chances on the day, and then invoke the refund/rebook option if I don't get away. Even if I got up to Glasgow, there is no guarantee I'd get back in the evening.
  6. Partick is one of the games I can make easily on a day trip from Heathrow. I bought my air ticket (through BA) weeks ago. Now it looks as if the planned cabin crew strike is going to scupper my plans. Bastardio!
  7. Dunfermline look good value at 10/1 too.
  8. A win for us of course, but I'd rather see PT turn over Dunfermline. Its looking as if they (Dunfermline) could be the biggest challenge now. But as long as we keep winning, no one can catch us, so its in our own hands now.
  9. Another of Blatter's contentious ideas! But not altogether without merit. If it did come in defences would soon get used to man marking the obvious 'poachers'. For me though, doing away with offside might just be going too far. However, I'd extend the 18 yard line right across the pitch, and make this the 'offside' line rather than the half way line.
  10. I cannot see the sense in pursuing this. As far as I can tell Niculai did nothing wrong and seems to be in the right over this. It was us who screwed the whole thing up, whether by incompetence or lack of experience in transfer deals, I cannot say. Throwing good money after bad if you ask me.
  11. If I'm not mistaken, wasn't Ted McDougal's old man the famous Clach goalkeeper, 'Eck' Mcdougal, of the 40s and early 50s? George Ross was a contempory of mine in Inverness Royal Academy in the mid 50s. He was also a good cricketer btw. Unfortunately I don't think he ever got a full Scotland cap. He spent his full senior career with Preston where I believe he still acts as a hospitality host on matchdays.
  12. Have to agree with you there, Renegade. I wasn't there, so don't know first hand how bad (or otherwise) Lionel was yesterday. But most people are very quick to condemn him, indeed seem to get great delight in slagging him off at the least opportunity. I've seen Golabek live on at least four occasions this season and he has ranged from OK down to absolutely shocking (Cup final in Perth for example). He is not the answer. So, I'd agree in blooding Shinnie for the rest of the season, now that our promotion chances are nil minus.
  13. Absolutely definitely it is wishful thinking. Face it, Denzil was well past his best before he left us last time.
  14. Can't agree with you there. Governments have a right to expect that their sportsmen will be safe and protected when guests in another country. They wern't safe so they were called home. Quite right.
  15. Whilst I agree with the proactive suggestions from both finmack and brian on this thread earlier to improve the official site, I fear it will for quite some time yet, compare unfavourably with this unofficial site. This is simply because we have been spoiled here, due largely to Scotty and Don's unstinting effort over many years. For the official site to 'catch up' is almost an impossible job. I'm not in the habit of looking at other Scottish clubs' official sites, but I'd venture a guess that ours is no worse than some of the others. I'm prepared to be shot down here by anyone who does compare other Scottish official sites. I do look at a couple of English clubs' official sites (not EPL) and I have to say that they are pretty much on the ball, and better than ours. I can see that for a club our size, with limited resources, expending time and money on a web site may not be seen as a high priority. But if they were to realise what a powerful tool it is for communication with their core supporters, I'm sure they would see things differently. So here's hoping that some of the powers that be within the club read some of the positive comments on this thread and act accordingly. I may be naieve, but I actually think that the individual board members (and I've met some of them) actually do try to act in the best interests of the club, but perhaps sometimes need an encouraging nudge in the right direction. Much of the 'muppet' talk we see frequently on this site is in my view, childish and unhelpful.
  16. Maybe Robbo will have another go for it. Or, perhaps 'once bitten, twice shy'.
  17. Wyness was past his best when we let him go before. Has he improved? I don't think so. Forget it. Also I think we can do better than Camara (or whatever his name is).
  18. Have to disagree there. United would be a far better side if they still had him. If they end up not winning anything this season, as is possible, maybe their reluctance to pay the asking price will be seen as a false economy.
  19. Funnily enough I had the 'QPR rant' sent to me by Email this morning, and was going to post it on here, but Heilandee beat me to it. Sad thing is I find myself in total agreement with most of what the guy is saying.
  20. My thoughts as well. The word 'legend' is grossly overused these days, but if anyone qualifies, then Bill certainly did.
  21. I also feel this decision is harsh. Surely it is time for suspensions caused by yellow/red cards to be effective in the next competitive games, whatever the competition, rather than hanging about until the following season as in this case.
  22. No surprise there then. I imagine most of the fixtures rearranged for tomorrow night will be off again. I just can't believe that they would try for the rearranged games so quickly following the original date in conditions like these, which are pretty widespread.
  23. Strange decision, should he go. It puts his decision not to leave Burnley for Celtic last season in perspective when he is happier sticking with relegation threatened EPL clubs, rather than potential European competition with Celtic.

Its exactly the same down here in Englandshire. My two sons who were born in Berkshire, support Liverpool and Newcastle, not any of the local teams like Reading or Wycombe. At least they are true ICT fans and accompany me up to games occasionally. However I cannot get my grandchildren to show any interest in ICT whatsoever, despite various bribes from me . They only support Chelsea and Manchester United, again ignoring the local Berkshire teams. Personally, I think it is all wrong, but what can one do?
