  1. Refs in Scotland are generally poor but linesmen - even worse. They've only got a couple of things to do and they very rarely get them right and are more often than not well behind the play. I'm not a fan of Brine's as he's another who likes to be the centre of attention but yesterday he didn't book any Inverness players and gave the penalty.
  2. Dear Derek, As you will know, your Chairman has arranged for you to attend our new Anger Management classes, specially designed for wee men with big heads and no class. Unfortunately, it appears from your entrance exam that you do not qualify as we have not found anything grown up, sensible or worthwhile in any of your comments to date. We are pleased to inform you though that you qualify for our entry level "Seething for Infants" which is running now in Dingwall. Yours etc....
  3. There's something missing from this thread - wot no doom and gloom or cautionery tales from the glass half empties? "Top six Derek Adams within Butcher's grasp" (almost) Rock on ICT!
  4. Gary Warren all the way. Tough, honest, brilliant old fashioned power header goals and gives everything on the pitch. No messing, signed on the dotted line to stay with us. You can't ask for more.
  5. Yes thought Taylor had a really good game. Some solid defending and willing to drive forward. Great shift. Gary Warren terrific at the back again too. Derby so not too much skill on display (what there was from us - RC route one and free kicks as usual) but plenty of graft. Good support today and DA wasn't happy at the end - just about perfect.
  6. I too thought your post was considered and positive DD. The issue is complex for all the clubs outside the OF and England's elite and no-one's come up with any easy answers but it's worth folk who care having meaningfull discussions and ideas about it. I still think media wise if Celtic had won, it would have been wall to wall Neil Lennon all week on BBC Scotland and in the press but they got hammered so lets have a go at the wee guys, easy targets. That's not to say its not a real problem but let's not let the media put us down. They also know how to tweak our tails by quoting RC all the time. F*ck em, they could care less if ICT went to the wall, it would be just another story. It's our club.
  7. Strange creature the lifelong boo boy. They live for it. Henpecked and ignored at home they go to the game and swear and shout to their hearts content, with an instant audience too. They probably think its cheap at the price. Maybe Terry should reflect on his own good fortune and that they may be just lonely souls who's only pleasure is slagging him and his work off - until the next manager comes along. They're like the weather - driech and windy and always there....
  8. Do you think if Celtic had won on Tuesday night, the Scottish media would have been so interested to give air time/print to our 'poor attendances'....? Fraz's list is just about bang on - missed out wall to wall TV though - been killing the game for years.
  9. DD I agree with all you say on this. I can't see TB reacting like that to plain criticism so I'm assuming it was abusive and if it was the club should look at it. People booing our own players is just embarassing for the rest of us and it's not "just lads being silly" if its picked up by the media and used to make us look bad. Sad to see us once again on TV for the wrong reasons. TB was aked the question and gave his view right or wrong, as he's entitled to. Then BBC Scotland wandered into the town and asked the first three folk they found about club attendances....another highly professional disection of the biggest problem in the Scottish game - not. Outside the OF every club ground has acres of empty seats, it's just the way it is now. We go to TCS while back in town they sit in the pubs in their OF tops watching Man Utd cuff Fulham or some other Premier League no hoper. I wish I knew the answer to it.
  10. Growing up in the great era of 'catching' goalies in the sixties and seventies my pet hate is the way nearly all keepers today most of the time stand rooted to the line a la Alan Rough when catchable crosses come over (happened again for second goal today). Is it coached now or a lack of confidence in themselves? The best goalies never worried if there were international class defenders in front of them, they still made crosses their own or at least went down fighting to get to it. It gives a team a lift when the keeper really goes for the ball and commands the area. Attackers also know that they might get a thick ear if a big goalie is heading their way. It also should be even easier than it used to be when you could barge as nowadays refs always give a foul if the keeper is 'impeded'. Bring back the Pat Jennings school of goalkeeping. Esson or Reguero? both need coaching in the art of dealing with a cross.
  11. I think we have been soft in midfield for the last four games, regardless of players who have been in there. OTJ has been off the pace for all four games (especially v Hearts where the game went on around him). I think he is a decent player going forward at times but I'd like to see more dig and challenge in midfield. Giving the ball away as much as we have been is also not recommended. Too many directionless passes after too much thought, instead of the easy first time pass to keep the speed going. We had a lovely flowing move just before the first goal which showed what we can do. We just didnt do it enough. The front guys are fast so give them the ball early. The Celtic team out today actually played pretty well as a unit even with so many changes. I think we can pick it up again if we move the ball forward quicker and we must press more and better in midfield. Other results went for us again so that helps. Had a laugh at the article with DA delighted at their 'leap up the table' - which today stands at one place....
  12. Total disgrace. He is an overweight **** (in a red jacket today) and has been seen wearing stupid head gear which I gues is good to put his stupid head in A few of us gave him a shouting down. He only appeared this season (in that seat anyway) and has been shouting crap for some time. Seems to have a wee team of moronic pals who go along with his comments. I just hope the guys around him shout him down in future or he might find out what it feels like to be thrown from the top row....
  13. My son was out one night in town and him and his mate were getting grief from some knob heads. He only knew Roscoe to say hello to but Tokes and another guy stepped in and helped them out - respect and good luck
  14. I thought the 'Government' want us out of Yerp?
  15. First time on the site since the weekend. I like to grieve alone...
  16. It wouldn't be a surprise if Billy hits 30 this season. I forgive him
  17. Premier League spent £120m just during Jan transfer window on a few moves here and there, nothing serious. Little chance for Scottish clubs to compete with that kind of commercial strength, saturation TV, competition from new sports and the OF. Our clubs are chasing a tiny amount of available punter cash and sponsorship. I'm not convinced by the changes proposed and especially the suits pushing it: Stewart Regan hopes to get fans on board with league plans Scottish Football Association chief executive Stewart Regan hopes to convince fans the country does not need a larger top flight. "I think there's an educational exercise that we need collectively to go through," said Regan Have you felt 'educated' by these guys? But times are tough and if all the clubs do go for this then I just hope it has an impact.

Jaisus some folk can't wait for us to fall and say told you so. When was the last time we sat 2nd in the Premier League for a month and beat both the Old Firm away? So, its tight and competitive, isn't that good? Don't we want every match to count? Anything can happen - great. We've won nothing yet? Nobody's won anything yet.
  19. Fantastic goal he scored today. Now all he needs to do is score the goal that takes us to the final and then the last minute winner in the final and he can go where he likes (or stay) with my best wishes!
  20. I am reminded of Chick Young's pathetic 'let's get a song for ICT' drivel that the BBC Sport website had posted for months. Maybe I'm wrong but I am not aware of great traditional anthems from any of the Premier Clubs apart from the usual crap from the OF. Come on you Saints, Dons, Well etc aint exactly "You'll never Walk Alone" at the Kop. Noticed John McGlynn saying today that "teams have come to Parkhead and won like St Johnstone and Kilmarnock" - never mentioned us. Bit apprehensive about Saturday?
  21. Agree with IHE, be good to see Chris back on the pitch after the time he's had. Cooper did not look at all bad for his age and has time and a good defensive group be be part of and learn from. The team we have are a decent bunch of players and all seem to work for each other on the pitch. We've been really lucky injury wise so far (fingers crossed) but a good, together squad can see us through if anything happens. Nick Ross back and the bench we have just now - its all good.
  22. Yep, excellent second half today, overpowered the Dons and 3 cracking goals, what more can you ask? Thought everyone played their part although Ritchie was a bit quiet. Don't want to say anything negative though as this is the best attack we've had, given the level they are playing at and still slotting the goals home. Defence is very solid in the air (Meekings and Warren rule) and does just enough on the ground in most games. Class back heel from Ross Draper for the second goal. If we can get the ball more quickly through midfield it's frightening what we could do to someone. Really looking forward to the cup with confidence. Well done lads, Terry an Mo
  23. Does this mean that if you had a bad enough second part of your season you could get relegated twice? I'm thinking back to the Hitler's bunker video only its Doncaster and Regan etal bringing disaster down rather than listening to advice... Mind you it's not all bad - Brittain to St Johnstone!
  24. Ah well the latest chance for some folk to talk utter bollocks is over for the time being. Hopefully the wee miracle we've started this season will now continue.... Onwards!!
  25. Speculating on all the speculation, with our fan base and income ICT will never be in a position to hold on to managers who might be looking for higher earning offers or so called 'bigger challenges' and that goes for players too, so we just have to live with it and as others have said we have done pretty well so far overall with personnel over the years. I do wonder though when you look at some managers who have taken every offer going (McLeish, Hughes etc) and then the likes of Tony Pulis or David Moyes who have stayed and achieved something at whatever level their clubs can sustain. Football is a transient game though and there can be no blame attached. It's not so long ago that TB was being slagged off by many so it's his right to work where he wants. Barnsley though? I would have thought he can do better than that in lots of ways. I do think that he has genuinely enjoyed the successes with us and this season has been a little miracle so far. I hope he stays to see it through. The way clubs are just now there are never any shortage of jobs going.
