  1. Talking of the Firth of Forth (had to get me teeth in right for that one) I see that one of the options for the name of the the new crossing is Caledonia Bridge. Add an n to that and it has a certain appeal....
  2. Yes good away support, made a fair noise when TB was being spoken to by the ref but a pity we didn't have anything to celebrate later.
  3. Not many options to try at this stage of things really. Was going to write some opinions on Motherwell but scared myself so I'll not bother. They looked powerful and direct today and we've been pretty much hanging on recently. Will need a huge effort from everyone. May need a large dram before the game (me that is)....
  4. Ah Telford St....Caledonian V Elgin City - being narrowly missed by a full can of McEwens (don't think it was beer) thrown across the road by friendly fit likers. Don't you miss the 70's?
  5. Apart from the red card, another sad sight on Saturday was the size of the crowd, 2300 was it they announced? Makes you wonder about all the talk of new structures and play offs bringing back crowds. Not if those games are at 1200 and on TV. We had a great spell of form in the run up to the year end when we climbed the league with attacking play, solid defence - no injuries and other results going our way helped. Unbeaten so far against RC has been great too but it would still feel like a downer to miss out on a Europe place after it became very possible. What Celtic or other teams now do is out of our hands. It's gonna be tough to get any kind of attacking form back this late but we are still a point ahead and with hard graft and some luck coming our way we can still do it.
  6. and with the red card, they were lucky...thought it was pretty harsh as it was a race for the ball rather than a clear scoring chance to me. We were better than them second half but it was always going to be tough from the card on.
  7. Have said my bit on midfield already but many good points made in the two pieces above. I'm all for discussion and debate, that's what a Forum is. Not keen on debacle though so hoping our opponents have them over the next few weeks. Gary out is a real blow, but I feel Josh will rise to the occasion on Saturday and lead by example. Hope there is a good Blue and Red turn out. I'm due to be down in Glasgow over the weekend but def coming back up to Perth Sat for the game. St Johnstone? They'll be lucky to get Nil!
  8. Yep on the tv Terry says 'he has rolled his ankle' so not connected to the knee injury. You could see it in Gary's face soon as it happened that he knew it wasn't good. Gutted as the big man has been one of the heroes of the season and the others clearly get direction and confidence from him. Challenge for TerryanMo to get the guys in the right frame of mind to deal with it.
  9. Likely TB will go with same again barring injuries? Should be really tight going by our recent games. Someone could be a hero (or bigger hero) by 2pm Saturday.... I have a 25yr old Glenlivet Reserve I'm keeping to open when Europe is achieved - hope its a step closer by the end of the game.
  10. You need an innoculation against mad player disease when you play Liverpool these days.........
  11. Agree with IHE that Terry can only judge where his head is right now. Having got things signed up he might feel pressure off lets play or bugger this don't want injured. Its no time for experiments though right now. Anyway, he's been great this season (in our system - when it was working great - better shut up) and good luck to him.
  12. Unless the TV was at a different game I saw the same as everyone else. Just giving an opinion, thought that was allowed (thank you IHE). Want the best for the club going forward as we all do. There's no doubt it's been a great season overall, but I think we're capable of a lot better than we've been showing lately that's all - and I hate getting beat by manky Celtic.
  13. Ian Vigurs? he can get to .... I've come on to bore again about midfield - need a holder and passer - can our scouting find a 24 year old Sheerin or Christie please?
  14. Well deserved, been our most consistent performer over the season and our best player now for weeks. There are one or two who have really dipped in form since the Jan break but he has stayed strong and his play has been key to picking up some points when we were not playing too well as a team.
  15. I know he is popular with many site regulars but I will say it again, sorry but OTJ has been mince since the Jan break. Doesn't pick anyone up, jogs around the mid area with no real purpose. Him and Ritchie were worse than a man short today. Apart from Draper with his forward runs, our midfield was posted missing yet again today. Again poor passing gave the ball away so easily to Celtic time and again. We need a holding midfield player who can at least find a blue shirt with a pass otherwise the front guys won't get in amongst the goals again. I didn't expect a win today but I am so frustrated at our standard recently as we have been so much better. 'Well could seriously dent the goal difference if we don't get ourselves going. Only positive was the other result and Josh Meekings getting recognition as YP of the Month as he has been our best player for weeks now.
  16. I'll settle for nine yellows, two reds - and the same scoreline for the last game of this season Hell I'd settle for nine reds, two yellows and the same scoreline
  17. MacBeth, A Scottish Tragedy - She (Football) should have died hereafter There would have been a time for such a word Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow Creeps in this petty pace from day to day to the last syllable of recorded time And all our yesterdays have lighted fools to dusty death (relegation) Out, out brief candle (reconstruction) Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player (Vigurs) That struts and frets his hour upon the stage And then is heard no more It is a tale told by an idiot (Doncaster) Full of sound and fury (Milne) Signifying nothing....
  18. If we'd actually played as well as Section E sang, hopefully the whole home end might have joined in.... My wishes to the end of the season would be: 1 that we hammer the Dingers at their mudpatch and get a whole stand singing 2 I need my passport soon
  19. From matchday programme 9th Nov 1996 - Bells Third Division Pele "Today is the big day when we take up residence in our new stadium and I would like to welcome all Inverness supporters to what is hoped will be the beginning of a very special chapter in the short history of Inverness Caledonian Thistle" Mike Noble " The waiting is finally over and today we play our first Scottish League fixture at the new stadium and what a lift we will all get if we can manage to defeat an ever improving Albion Rovers side" Think it's safe to say we've come a long way....
  20. I had a gurn about the St J game out of frustration at some of our play, but I thought TB gave a fair review of the game and he was clearly disappointed that we didn't play the way we can. We have achieved top six easily and had some really good performances this season which is great but I'm glad he's still wanting better from the team. That's how we will stay at the higher end of the league (whatever league is it) next season. Fantastic to have Europe as achievable still, so the management team have earned their money and our thanks this season. Other results went for us again and the Dingers blowing it today was icing on the cake.
  21. Meekings, Draper, Reguero. Highlights made it look a better game than it actually was. Too often at home we've seen the first ten minutes look promising then poor passing and decision making ruins the game. The performance succeeded in silencing our own fans by the end. The midfield just isnt working as good as it was pre Jan break. OTJ ok going forward but far too casual in midfield role. We had too many sideways passes and too slack at marking opposing midfield - that's how we lost to Hearts in the cup. The two forward passes we did have both almost resulted in goals. Other results went for us again today - so not as costly as it could have been. For me, we need to pick up the pace and direction in the middle of the park again.
  22. Doncaster is a tattie talking mince. In a better world only chairmen who have clubs running effectively and without piles of debt would be allowed to debate what can work going forward and that would narrow the number down a fair bit wouldn't it. The rest are just grabbing at anything that will get them a wee bit more cash in and to hell with the fans (mugs) who actually pay and come along. Our national team is already a laughing stock, the league will be even more so. Half way through a season some clubs go back to zero points and start again - complete rubbish. I'd like to see Doncaster's point of view but I can't get my heid that far up my own arse.
  23. Terry old boy you've made yourself a legend again, that comment to the DR is a classic. I laughed out loud in A&E when I read it (I was getting treatment for the side I split laughing at Derek Adams)
  24. Nice. I reckon Your still greetin at night Beaten again by the Caley Jags could be a chant in the making - for the next derby?
  25. The boys done good - as they say in trackside tv interviews... Just one thing now really and I can look forward to a happy, sun drenched, boozy summer. Can you please win the final derby and finish above the dingers....
