  1. I did say that Terry took over in January, that’s a fact. Any reader would have questioned who was in charge prior to him and could have seen the line above. Given season tickets are sold PRIOR to the start of the season and it was clearly stated that Terry took over in January, I’m not sure how that constitutes figures for the season getting "chalked up against Butcher". It is not a witch hunt - did you miss the part about crediting him with our highest finish in the league? It’s pretty petty to pick up on that to be honest. It was an honest question following an observation on statistics and I didn’t expect to be attacked on it. It’s a shame when someone can’t express an opinion on a forum without being targeted as having an ulterior motive. The manager is one of a great many variables which affects attendances; it was purely a question of what is wrong and what we can do right as a club on the whole.
  2. Interesting looking at attendance figures (sorry you have to click on the link) The following are approximate average attendance figures for league home games up until the last three games of the season (so we can make this season relevant up until now). Cup games are not included although there is likely to be an of-shoot into league attendances based on a cup run. 06/07 - 4600 - Charlies season (Finished 8th) 07/08 - 4900 - Brewster era (Finished 9th) 08/09 - 4300 - Terry takes over in January (Relegated) 09/10 - 3400 - 1st division 10/11 - 4600 - Promoted (Finished 7th, best place finish) 11/12 - 4050 - This season This is not a witch hunt people, purely a discussion about why our attendance at home this season has been so poor. It seems strange that following promotion and our best place finish for the attendance to be almost 1000 down on average compared to 07/08. This could be down to the honeymoon period?? Perhaps its as simple as not playing as good a standard of football as we used to this season, team appeal and club profile also must play a massive part. We, as a business, need to ensure bums on seats is the criteria for betterment of the club. We need to ask ourselves why we are 850 seats a game down on average for essentially the same league position in a previous season. Discuss. Season 06-12.bmp
  3. Oh the banter, how iv missed it!!!! Its like breaking the surface of water and taking a deep breath after swimming too deep in a pool whilst trying to dive down for your goggles because they fell off due to someone taking a swipe at your face
  4. Great thread. It sums up the feeling im getting from all the inverness fans iv spoken too, hopefully we get a decent turnout.
  5. We have had 6 points from 39, there is no doubt we are in this position on merit.
  6. Ive had a sign priced by Acorn saying " ICT welcomes County to the SPL...and the 12 points a season that comes with them". I thought about pinning it near the bridge somewhere. £100. Any contributors?
  7. Players to get rid off in red, players to keep in blue. Name / Rank /10 Aldred, Tom 1 Not featured Doran, Aaron 6 Shows potential, should be retained. Esson, Ryan 7 Essential part of a top 6 team Foran, Richie 7 Although played deep, more effective with good supporting players. Must retain. Gillet, Kenny 6 Shown enough to keep his place, not as good as Greame though. Gnakpa, Claude 3 Journeyman. Get rid, 25 years old and he has been to 10 clubs. Golobart, Roman 5 There are more proven defenders who would outclass this lad. Greig, Andrew 4 Not featured Hayes, Johnny 9 Essential we retain him if we are to reach top six. Hogg, Chris 6 Injury worrys plague him, an unneeded financial burden if he keeps on getting injurys however well worth keeping him if he is fit. Laing, Martin 3 Not featured Mathison, Scott 3 Not featured McKay, Billy 6 If played in a wingers role, effective. Not as a target man. Poor man mangement but retain him next year. Meekings, Josh 3 Get rid. Morrison, Gavin 5 Not featured. Keep to see potential. Piermayr, Thomas 4 Not top 6 material. Polworth, Liam 4 Not featured Proctor, David 3 Get Rid Ross, Nick 7 Could be a potentially great player in my eyes, must retain and has demonstrated in the past his potential. With the right man mangement, he could go far. Shinnie, Andrew 9 Best player at this club. Must retain. Shinnie, Graeme 7 Decent player, potential to be a top 6 player. Smith, Greg 5 Not featured Sutherland, Shane 4 Sorry shane, I think you are a first division player. Tade, Gregory 4 Get rid. Getting goals this season, but I don’t know how. There are more effective strikers, first division at best. Tansey, Greg 3 Never rated him. Looses posession and doesn’t contribute going forward enough. Get rid. Tokely, Ross 3 Sorry ross, times up. There are better defenders. Tudur Jones, Owain 4 Journeyman. Tuffey, Jonny 6 Decent back-up keeper. Williams, Steve 5 Not enough from him. Get rid.. Winnall, Sam 4 Not featured So that leaves us with; Esson Missing Missing Missing G Shinnie Doran Ross Missing Hayes A Shinnie Foran Oh aye. Butcher, get rid.
  8. The club should trial the uncovered "singing section" to the right of the north stand. Put a financial proposal in some form to the fans (increased ticket price in the north stand, donation boxes, sponsorship - im sure we would get there even if it took a season or two!), there cant be any harm in that? Id personally love to stand; Ayr United away thats all im saying.
  9. The price is the same for every supporter, payable once the dealine closes for applications.
  10. The best thing would be to look at historical attendances since they are the most reliable, not hypothetical 'we would have filled the stadium charging that price on the day' scenarios. This is an attenuated-average dependant model which is dependant on supporter uptake. A forecast would always look at the scenario for people who would pay the ?150 and not attend, and the number of season tickets required to cover that discount would be reflected in the price of the season ticket! The only thing that could cause a RELATIVE loss (i.e. your still making a guaranteed profit...you know your matchday costs!) would be for the team to perform extremely well on the park and lots of glory hunters turn up. But thats a risk the club would have to take.
  11. Dear all, I have spoken to an asset manager recently who mentioned a scheme run by Hartlepool FC to maximise season ticket sales. Hartlepool is a team based in a relatively poor area and fans numbers had been dwindling, so to incentify fans to buy a season ticket the club put on the following offer; 1) A season ticket will cost you £200 if the club sells 3000 season tickets. 2) A season ticket will cost you £100 if the club sells 4000 season tickets. A large counter will be placed outside the club shop to inform fans of the progress. NOW...a clever boffin clearly looked at the REALISTIC potential number of season ticket holders which the club would attract. Then a cost analysis was carried out to find out the number of fans who actually attend the big and small games over the season thereby making sure that the offer will always make more money than if each game was charged at £25 for an adult. There are so many incredible benefits of this, some being; 1) Guaranteed cash flow budget for the year, meaning a sustainable financial scenario. Transfer budgets can be predicted. 2) Sponsors will know that AT LEAST that number of people will see their brand EVERY game. This can maximise the sponsorship deal value and potentially larger sponsorship corporations. 3) Enhanced merchandise, catering and parking revenue - obviously there is a direct trend between sales and fans attending games. 4) Enhanced club profile, meaning maximum exposure to potential new fans and younger fans alike leading to potentially larger takings. 5) A much better attendance could lead to a better atmosphere, it’s a debatable point but there will surely be a few singers amongst new sweetie rustlers. Most important of all...the fans get a good deal. I have recently paid £25 for a ticket to the gers game as I can’t afford a season ticket. SOME THING HAS TO CHANGE! The best value day out is still too expensive for many fans so please ICT, please show some initiative. You know it makes sense. Mike See the Hartlepool article. How Its Done
  12. "why do so many people think we have to add to the Teuchter sterotype already attached to us" - if there are So Many people, surely that would be enough to ACTUALLY SING at games. Ace of spades
  13. Assuming everyone in the current squad was fit, who would you play in which formation? id go for: Esson Rossco Munro Hogg Gillet Hayes Ross Duncan Doran Foran Rooney Bring on the Celtic....
  14. Hearts of Olden Glory - Runrig I cant help falling in love with you - Elvis (Its already sung at games so logical choice here)

  24. Fantastic team here DJS, spot on. McCann or Duff is a tough one, i might opt for McCann for his goal against DUFC but apart from that you have to fancy this lineup!
