  1. James is still a free agent I see, what do folk think about a fans initiative to raise some cash to bring him here for 6 months? Would certainly perk the place up a bit if we achieved the impossible.
  2. The last post sums up the rest of the team well I think. I think recently since we have been scoring he should be played at sweeper however the talent between him and A Shinne is incredible and if we could afford to, trying to forge a partnership between these two would be valuable.
  3. So no management experience you say? How about Lennon, Robbo, Brewster, Adams etc etc etc etc?! They all started with little or no experience and some have been very successful so I don't accept your point.
  4. Every manager has a shelf life, however I don't mind who the manager is in charge so long as he is competent and cares passionately about the team. Tb does that IMHO at the moment, he is capable of keeping us in the SPL. When Terry does eventually move on, I'd love to see Barry Wilson have a crack at managing us. Maybe a cheeky pele 2nd in charge, I get a smile thinking about that but maybe it's just me!
  5. Should be a decent game, nice to see the draw being kinder to us for a change!
  6. Pepper gets a starts over doran IMO. Nick to start also.
  7. I like the sound of him based on the above. Combine him and warren injury free and Shinnie at the back this season and we could be onto a winner. Throw Esson into the mix and it has potential. Here's hoping!
  8. I remember him spitting ice cubes at people in The Den. Nah let Aberdeen pay his wages for being injured.
  9. Number 2 with a blue shoulder would be the shnizzle
  10. I like the share idea a lot. Id like it if we were given clear instructions on how to invest, a clean cut media campaign involving local advertising and notice of what we would get in return (i.e. a certificate etc). Id sooner transfer my premium bonds into shares as iv won naff all on them anyway. If we had unique scarf or strip for the season this might generate some income if it stood for the worthy cause. See how well red/black scarfs went down at RFC and yellow/green at Man U. A sales stall outside gates would raise awareness and make it easy for fans to contribute. A lottery set-up similar to St Johnstone? It needs to be very easy to access at local shops however. A fun run with entry fee, external sponsorship and sponsorship donations? If the players take part im sure there would be a good turn out. Wine tasting evening (Terry to coordinate).
  11. Well said all, I will purchase a season ticket with pride and I hope the club see an influx of sales as they deserve.
  12. Fantastic news! Well played Mr Cameron.
  13. In light of the express article, It would be interesting seeing the turn out for an ICT vs Celtic game should The Rangers be allowed back into the SPL.
  14. Extend the league once Rangers are out, then everyone will be happy! I have a notion that attendances will soar with the interest of a new league format, Sky will be all over that too. But Dundee for me should we be asked to vote for one team.
  15. No to Newco Rangers. I stand by my decision : until Scottish Football rises to the moral high ground, I WILL NOT I will not purchase another season ticket for ICT. 16 team league, Rangers to the third division.
  16. Straight forward poll - yes or no; Rangers will re-form as a new company after a creditors' deal was rejected by Revenue and Customs. It means clubs will have to vote on whether to re-admit Rangers to the Scottish Premier League. What is our view? Mods please move / merge as appropriate.
  17. Riordan and OConner are BOTH free agents, not many people would turn down that partnership surely!!
  18. I have declined to buy one this year (despite an excellent offer for under 25's) due to the farce that is Scottish football. Its the only way I can demonstrate that things need to change. Sky Sports and ESPN are binned from my TV schedule also.
  19. Ive stumbled upon this site... http://rosscountytactics.com/ I hope terry takes note. Potential future ICT manager??
  20. It would be interesting for the likes of Dundee, Dunfermline, Falkirk etc applied to join the SPL as newco's. I wonder what 'fix' the SPL would create to reject these clubs and accept Rangers. What a joke. Get them out, my life would be better.
  21. About MacKay, does anyone think he would make a good winger? Certainly got the footwork and awareness but maybe by moving him wide he'd be less exposed to the physical side of the game... Anyway id keep him for another season.
  22. Thanks for that Joe. My stats neglect the last three games of the season perhaps that where the discrepancy lies. Last night I did feel a sense of relief after getting the point, securing an SPL place would always be a priority and now we have a true rival in the SPL we can welcome next season with anticipation. Interesting quoting ESPN May 2, 2012 Team Total Average 1 Celtic 858,010 50,471 2 Rangers 834,198 46,344 3 Heart of Midlothian 241,704 13,428 4 Hibernian 172,990 9,610 5 Aberdeen 165,921 9,217 6 DundeeUnited 133,007 7,389 7) Motherwell 105,520 5,862 8 Kilmarnock 106,852 5,623 9 Dunfermline Athletic 87,909 4,883 10 St Mirren 81,825 4,545 11 Inverness Caledonian Thistle 74,984 4,165 12 St Johnstone 68,595 4,035 Looking at our attandances relative to the rest of the league and our current league position, they do look to match. Perhaps our will and expectations are too high of ourselves?
  23. I did say that Terry took over in January, that’s a fact. Any reader would have questioned who was in charge prior to him and could have seen the line above. Given season tickets are sold PRIOR to the start of the season and it was clearly stated that Terry took over in January, I’m not sure how that constitutes figures for the season getting "chalked up against Butcher". It is not a witch hunt - did you miss the part about crediting him with our highest finish in the league? It’s pretty petty to pick up on that to be honest. It was an honest question following an observation on statistics and I didn’t expect to be attacked on it. It’s a shame when someone can’t express an opinion on a forum without being targeted as having an ulterior motive. The manager is one of a great many variables which affects attendances; it was purely a question of what is wrong and what we can do right as a club on the whole.
  24. Interesting looking at attendance figures (sorry you have to click on the link) The following are approximate average attendance figures for league home games up until the last three games of the season (so we can make this season relevant up until now). Cup games are not included although there is likely to be an of-shoot into league attendances based on a cup run. 06/07 - 4600 - Charlies season (Finished 8th) 07/08 - 4900 - Brewster era (Finished 9th) 08/09 - 4300 - Terry takes over in January (Relegated) 09/10 - 3400 - 1st division 10/11 - 4600 - Promoted (Finished 7th, best place finish) 11/12 - 4050 - This season This is not a witch hunt people, purely a discussion about why our attendance at home this season has been so poor. It seems strange that following promotion and our best place finish for the attendance to be almost 1000 down on average compared to 07/08. This could be down to the honeymoon period?? Perhaps its as simple as not playing as good a standard of football as we used to this season, team appeal and club profile also must play a massive part. We, as a business, need to ensure bums on seats is the criteria for betterment of the club. We need to ask ourselves why we are 850 seats a game down on average for essentially the same league position in a previous season. Discuss. Season 06-12.bmp
  25. Oh the banter, how iv missed it!!!! Its like breaking the surface of water and taking a deep breath after swimming too deep in a pool whilst trying to dive down for your goggles because they fell off due to someone taking a swipe at your face
