  1. What are your thoughts on our best team and system if everyone was fit? This is mine; Fon Williams Raven Meekings Warren Tremarco Draper Tansey Storey Vigurs Doran Foran Subs: Esson, Devine, D Williams, Horner, Roberts, Mutumbo & Wedderburn
  2. It was quite frustrating to watch. We had 5 defenders on who were told not to overload attacks and they didn't contribute to putting balls in the box. The midfield didn't link with Marley who really isn't a striker. The duo of Williams and Christie were always outnumbered by the extra man in midfield. The team were told not to counter attack. Because Partick (and other teams) know we like to play short passes they gear up and diffuse this by committing more bodies to the man in possession knowing we won't apply a long raking pass to a man in space, once we get hounded the ball goes long. In short, this makes for a stuffy and congested game with as much attacking ambition as 4-6-0. we had such a strong bench yesterday I didn't think Devine needed to be in the back line. We could have played 4-5-1 with Doran and Marley on the wings with Ofere up top without Partick causing any more damage than they did.
  3. There is plenty space at the Bucht as we all know (see attached jpeg with stadium and parking translated onto it). An exact replica of our stadium and parking scenario would take up 1/3rd of the space at the Bucht as a whole. Walking times to new stadium from: Lochardil - 36min Crown - 25min Kinmylies - 38min Milton of Leys - 40min Dalneigh - 20min Culduthel - 37min Hilton - 33min Train Station/pubs - 23min Walking times to existing stadium from: Lochardil - 1hr16min Crown - 40min Kinmylies - 49min Milton of Leys - 1hr5min Dalneigh - 46min Culduthel - 1hr16min Hilton - 1hr2min Train Station/pubs - 31min It can clearly be seen that if the stadium was moved to the Bucht Park then folk could easily walk to the game and return on foot within the vast majority of the demographic of Inverness, whereas this is not possible with the current stadium where it is. You have to make football easily accessible and as it stands the logistics prove it is not.
  4. Very interesting initiative on the PWYW. If the club can attract an extra 1000 fans who wouldn't have been there in the first place, then it's all a bonus and not a case of breaking even. I wonder if the wings of the main stand and singing section could be a permanent PWYW for non high profile games?
  5. I really hope it's an early kickoff, any word on this?
  6. Fair play to the guy, kinda feel for him with some of the brutally honest feedback on here! For me though, I'd rather not sing about our 'shed' and being 'only caley jags'.
  7. Butcher won 1 game in 9 last year as CapitalCaley pointed out. The previous year he won 1 game in 10 at one point. He was by no means a saviour and Hibs will find that out too. Hughes won't be as bad as people think, despite our run of bad results. We are 7 points from second with a game in hand and still in all the cups. If we get knocked out of those and drop to the bottom six then bring on the negativity, but truth is we are still in a rosy position and unless it's scuppered folk need to calm the FECK down. Hughes promoted Falkirk and kept them there for four years and got to the Scottish Cup final. He guided Hibs to Europe and fourth in the SPL, it was a hostile fan reaction that finally axed him there following bad results. We tolerated horrendous form under Butcher and look what we got as a reward in the end! I for one would be delighted if he could replicate the results he achieved at either Falkirk or Hibs. BELIEVE!!!
  8. I agree David Raven has to start the next game. We lost some fluidity when Nick came off but credit to Hughes for having a go and everyone in the stadium believed we weren't buried even at 4-0 down. Great value for money and probably the 'best' loss ever!
  9. I played with Glasgow University for a few years as a GK under Brian Hamilton as manager (http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brian_Hamilton_(footballer) and he insisted we always had an independent GK coach. Myself and the other GK's improved dramatically with constant coaching. It's a very different position compared to defence, midfield or attack but I've never questioned why each we got specialist coaching over the rest of the team until now! The reason has to be because the handling and positioning of GK's are so specialist that we warrant a completely separate approach. Either that or were to nutty to join normal training sessions :)
  10. A very good thread IMO, with strong and logical debate points. Raven was one of our best players before his off spell, but we have had a great run of clean sheets recently. Shinnie and Raven bombing forward created more chances, both were keen and capable at crossing after an overlap which contributed towards better attacking football. The crux is do we favour solid clean sheets over slightly stagnating attacking play or a more attack focussed shinnie/raven overlap system. Yogi, I've read, prefers a more attacking team so perhaps he will go for the latter. One thing is great about this situation - we have great options in our depth and it is a good problem to have.
  11. To extend the metaphor i read in another thread - Its like once you split up with an ex, after seeing her with another man - you realise you have a six pack, fantastic prospects and your better off without her. Just then, you get laid after a night in hoots and she stays all weekend and ends up being your bird, your ex seems like a fat user!! I actually voted Barry for the job, but I'm team Hartley now!
  12. Amazing news! Three years to prep for manager and see out his playing career - he is already a true ICT legend! Buzzing for Saturday!
  13. 110% no to Levein. After witnessing a Scotland side, told to stand off opponents and not press even in our own half on top of 4-6-0 i can't face that at TCS. Utter denial at his own inability tops off a definate no from me. How many other posters backing Levein had the season ticket for Scotland watching that dross. No No NO!
  14. Marsella is worth firing money at to keep, without Steve, Terry and Mo would crumble. Their tactics are very 1 dimensional, it's the players at their disposal that has put us this far up the league.
  15. This thread in a way is a tribute to Terry and the management team. He has been so successful that we all expect him to move at some point. It's also a testament to him that all of us would give them a new contract right now. If he stays and gets top three here or more, then the consensus might be that only a top half English Permiership club would be enough for them to go?
  16. I left the house in plenty of time, at 1:55pm to walk to the ground for 2:30, I'll likely no take the car again. Hopefully this thread will make it to the relevant people if the traffic issue continues.
  17. The bridge looked horrific at 2:30pm and my uncle was 15mins late to meet me at 2:30, he drove from Slackbuie via the A9.
  18. He got rave reviews on the radio during the aberdeen game, he was mentioned as a strong contender for Scotlands left back.
  19. The thing is no one has played poor enough to warrant being dropped imo. Same team as the usual please.
  20. Once I bought a ticket for a rangers home game for an ex girlfriend (save me the squaff, I don't support them), I received a random text from their marketing team offering season tickets for £207. This tells me 1) they text advertise 2) this is a key time where they are on the crest of a wave and they think they can sell tickets well and 3) it's a good price! Interesting don't you think?

  22. Terry should show these vids to the players :) a great fans perspective!
  23. More opportunities to get pishd, easier. Everyone loves to get pishd sometime. I predict 1000 bachelors lie in wait in inverness for something to fill the time between Friday and Saturday night. Give them a pub and some live entertaining football. Job done.
  24. Great face from Tel there!
