Half time. 0-0 probably fair enough. We’ve shaded it but Queens have had the better chances with two good saves by Ridgers. Not the best 45 of football this season by a long way. This game could go either way.

MacGregor booked for bad tackle when Queens winger would have got away. Great save by Ridgers from a header from the free kick. Queens have grown back into this. Pretty even as a result.

This may be controversial, but hopefully the main sports bodies in Scotland do what organisations like the Football League have done down south and speak in favour of some form of certification to allow fans in (vaccine, already had the virus, negative test) and we get crowds in. 12000 are proposed for Hampden for the Euros, which is 25%. Even if that percentage is applied for league football, that would let us get over 1800 in which should allow season ticket holders to attend home games. Fingers crossed.

Whatever the reason, things seem to have gelled in the last month. However, we did have a shorter pre season than other clubs and a long injury list for many months. And we will never know the impact the personal challenges facing Robbo and Kells were having on the players. I just hope both are getting over the challenges they have faced and feel able to return at the right time for them. In the meantime, I hope they are enjoying the run and we are able to get into the play off places for them.

Our game with St Mirren is at 1500 on Saturday 17 April and is not on BBC or Premier Sports. The Dundee league game that day is now 1900 on Tuesday 20th. The last league game with Ayr on 30 April is now a 1945 kick off.

Next Tuesday could be an important night for us, even although we are not playing, as Dunfermline face Dundee and Queen of the South face Raith, with all teams then having three to play, the same as we will have by then. Saturday is critical. We really need to win and absolutely cannot afford to lose. Dunfermline on paper have the easiest run in, but their form has been poor recently. We could do with Ayr, Morton and Arbroath taking points on Saturday when they play Dunfermline, Dundee and Raith. It is good to be talking about the right end of the table again after the worries we had a month or so back.
