  1. Their left back should have been booked too. His foul was as bad as Devine’s.
  2. Not the classiest 45 but enjoyable. We have more than matched them. It was important we equalised before half time. County have had a lot of loose passes as we have been pressing them. We need to maintain the tempo as this game is there for the taking. Watching the goals back, no one was marking Mckay! But what a finish by Toddy!
  3. 1-1. Toddy!! Well finished. We deserved that!
  4. Mackay goal disallowed. Played in well by Allan but clearly off.
  5. Devine booked. Decent start by us but County have grown into it.
  6. Ridgers’ 150th game for us tonight. Hope he gets a clean sheet to celebrate with! Allan starting which hopefully helps us make chances. Really buzzing now!!
  7. The Highland League has been declared ended, with Brora the Champions on goal difference following calculating points per game, so will be in the pyramid play offs if they go ahead: http://www.hflhub.co.uk/ Brora were one of five teams to have 100% records, but the five had only played two or three games. I wonder how they calculated the points per game for Strathspey Thistle who had played no league games? Kelty Hearts are currently top of the Lowland League, both on actual points and on points per game.
  8. Surprised to see there is a flight from Bristol this afternoon, and it looks like there will be on Tuesdays and Fridays throughout April. Gatwick and Luton flights look to restart in May. For the last few months, there have only been flights to the islands, and as the travel ban remains in place apart from essential journeys, it seems a bit early for Bristol flights starting. It seems more than a coincidence that the first one is at Easter.
  9. Whilst opinion polls are notoriously inaccurate nowadays, the first one I’ve heard reported has the Alba party at 3%. Will that be enough for any List seats? I see Douglas Ross is on the Tory list for the Highlands and Islands rather than the North East: https://www.highland.gov.uk/download/downloads/id/23513/handi_regional_-_sp_notice_of_poll.pdf As he is top of their list, it is inevitable he will be elected. Our constituency options are: https://www.highland.gov.uk/download/downloads/id/23506/in_-_sp_notice_of_poll_and_situation_of_polling_places.pdf

  12. That 3-0 win in Dingwall was one of my favourite away days, as I was amongst home fans as I was being treated to hospitality by a County fan, and it was great to have gloating rights after a great performance and result. It would be great if Storey could score a couple like that tomorrow night!
  13. Looking forward to it, albeit a bit nervously. With our recent form, and County struggling and pretty inconsistent, whilst we go into it as underdogs I think we are in with a chance. We’ve acquitted ourselves well in Friday night games so far this season. We need a strong start to make them nervous. Carson v Vigurs or Draper could be an interesting match up if Carson is back in midfield. I agree with caleyboy that the league is our priority, but a confidence boosting performance and result will do no harm. Who knows, it could yet turn out to be a play off rehearsal!!
  14. I’m not so sure about the Tory situation. They have done well when Labour have been struggling, in large part due to the way Davidson came across. They have lost that, so if Ross does not appeal to those Davidson won round, they are likely to lose ground. The second votes may be more crucial than normal to the outcome given the presence of Salmond’s party and the likely heavy success in the constituency seats by the SNP. With the count being slower than usual, all will be clear some time on 8 May.
  15. Ross and, the previously impressive, Davidson have been very poor in recent comments and actions. It may be that Davidson was doing Ross’s work for him in Parliamentary exchanges, but it has done them no favours. I doubt it will be a “Poll Tax rout” but they will lose out significantly if they don’t change their approach. Sarwar is the first Labour leader for a while who comes across well. It will be interesting to see if Labour can regain ground in their traditional heartlands, particularly in and around Glasgow.
  16. We need Neilson to get a reaction from Hearts on Saturday as they are playing at Dunfermline.
  17. We now have the best defensive record in the league. Everyone else has conceded more than the 23 we have to date. Just highlights that if we had been more deadly in front of goal, we would have been comfortably in a play off place. Hopefully we have plenty of assists from Allan to enjoy in the next few weeks!

    6 Games To Go

Now 4-1. Dunfermline are on a really bad run: hope it continues until the end of April! Prior to tonight, in the league they have won 2 and lost 4 of their last 6, and been knocked out of the cup by Morton.
  19. Friday’s kick off. time has been moved from 1935 to 1945: https://ictfc.com/highland-derby-updated-kick-off-time
  20. The first league game has typically been the first weekend in August in recent seasons, so this is pretty consistent.
  21. Dates have been announced for next season, with the League Cup staying on 10 July and the leagues on 31 July. Hopefully we are allowed to attend matches by then! https://www.inverness-courier.co.uk/sport/calendar-confirmed-for-2021-22-campaign-232830/
  22. Before we play Morton, Raith play Dunfermline in midweek and Dunfermline play Hearts on Saturday. A draw and a Hearts win probably best for us?

    Six Nations

A great tournament, and it feels like our best one in years. If only we’d been able to beat Wales or Ireland (or preferably both) in those close games and we could have been really celebrating!
