  1. GA123 means you have ticket 123 of general allocation. Seats in use are marked with a tick, and there are singles, pairs and threes from what I could see. I’d also recommend getting there reasonably early so you can pick a decent seat. That worked for me and later arrivals ended up in the sections in the corners after searching in vain for better seats.
  2. He had a quiet game and I wasn’t surprised when he was subbed. A couple of loose passes, but nothing too serious. Very early days and I’m sure he will become an asset when he settles in and has game time under his belt. It will be interesting to see what starting line up becomes our first picks. We have Welsh, Allardice, McAlear, MacGregor and possibly Carson competing for two places. A good problem to have! I was really encouraged last night. If we had better finishing, it could have been 5 or 6. The POTY thread shows how strong our performance was. When I voted just now, 7 different players had been selected as our top player on the night. I was happy with Andy Bannerman on the tannoy. He had to make the safety and covid announcements so shouldn’t be criticised for that, whilst he spoke clearly and audibly. And apologies to all that I sparked all the posts about the virus after my comment about full time. The game was worthy of dominating this thread.
  3. I seem to have sparked a debate. I am double vaccinated and not vulnerable, and was happy to follow the directions given. My point was that there was no order at full time. I’ve no issues with those leaving just before the whistle, but when the whistle blew there should have been guidance as to which fans should leave first, as happened at the games before Christmas. Tonight, despite the announcements, it was a free for all. I chose to wait, as many others did, until the rush subsided. But let’s not let this debate overshadow the game, and a very encouraging performance and deserved win.
  4. At the Dundee game at Christmas, the exit was coordinated with Stewards at the bottom of each set of stairs. Tonight there were only 3 or 4 Stewards in the whole stand. If they are to control people leaving, there need to be enough to have a system that works. The problem was that some fans were leaving as the whistle blew and others just followed them. Human nature kicked in, but it could and should have been avoided. Getting back to the match itself, Duku was subbed due to an injury he got in a challenge. Hopefully it is not serious.
  5. Enjoyed that. Very dominant and two early goals in the second half secured the win. A couple of thoughts driving home. Broadfoot and Fyffe swapped centre half roles at half time. The whole defence clearly had confidence in Fyffe which was good to see. We looked stronger down the right with Carson and Walsh than down the left with Harper and Doran, but then Doran turned up with his goal! A word for Sutherland. He put a real shift in and didn’t give Peterhead a minute. MOM for me was actually Welsh. He was pulling the strings in midfield. A very encouraging start and we still have Deas, McDonald and Mckay who have not featured so far. Roll on Saturday. Sorry to end on a low point, but the club and stewards need to get a grip of full time. The announcements were clear to stay in your seats until told to leave, but they were ignored by many and there were very few stewards who could not control things. It needs sorted for Saturday.
  6. And we have! What a peach by Doran for the second!
  7. Not sure how it looked in the livestream, but we should be well ahead in this one, but we can’t be complacent as Peterhead have had their moments. From where I am sitting, Duku has missed a couple of good chances, whilst Walsh and Doran had opportunities. Of the new signings, Broadfoot has been the pick for me. Walsh has been lively and Duku a nuisance. McAlear has been quieter so far. Hopefully we turn the possession and chances into goals.
  8. Sitting in the ground: feels good. Well organised entrance and seating is clearly marked out. The players are warming up now. Not certain but the tannoy guy sounds like Andy Bannerman…. Of our new signings, Broadfoot, Duku, McAleer and Walsh are starting. Fyffe also starting. Gardyne on the bench. https://mobile.twitter.com/ICTFC/status/1415005009444495363/photo/1 Now we need a good performance and a win!
  9. Really looking forward to tonight’s game, and I hope the team put on a great show. It will be interesting to see how we line up, given the new signings and the players who did not get time in the friendlies. Hopefully masks and social distancing don’t stop us generating a decent atmosphere, but as tickets are still available we don’t seem anywhere close to a crowd of 1000 for tonight.
  10. Let’s see how he does before criticising the move. Other than Devine, our defenders are all youngsters, so it makes sense to bring in an experienced player. Hopefully he helps to develop Duffy, Deas, Harper, Nicolson and Fyffe and, who knows, Nicolson or Fyffe may well be ready to be a straight replacement in a year’s time.

  12. Kevin McNaughton played four times for Scotland so will be a more recent example.
  13. I have checked with someone I know at Stagecoach and they have confirmed the football bus will be running now that fans are allowed back in the ground. It leaves the Bus Station 45 minutes before kick off, returning after the final whistle. Hope that helps.

Italy deserved to win, but penalty shoot outs are cruel. I will never forget how it felt when we lost the League Cup final on penalties. Thankfully we have avoided the media hype that would have happened if “it had come home”. The poor kid who had the last kick saved will hopefully not be turned on by the English media. How a 19 year old was put in that position is ridiculous, whilst the others who failed to score were only on the pitch for seconds. Italy were the best team on the night, and thoroughly deserved to win, and ought to have won without needing to resort to penalties.

Streaming info for the home cup games: https://ictfc.com/ictv-info-premier-sports-cup-matches For snorbens_caleyman, it also refers to information being available before the first home league game about how season ticket holders can access the streaming of the league games.
  16. In our group today, away wins for Stirling at Cove and Hearts at Peterhead. The Cove team included Vigurs and Draper, with Vigurs getting his customary booking.
  17. Two for Toddy in the League Cup this afternoon.
  18. Three games off today. As well as County forfeiting their game against Forfar, Morton have forfeited theirs against Stranraer, as have Dumbarton against St Mirren. In each case they did not have enough players to fulfil the game. That’s 3 out of 16 games in the cup disrupted by covid. Not a good sign for the early part of the season unless self isolation rules are relaxed due to the numbers vaccinated. If it continues when the league starts, presumably the games will be rearranged rather than 3-0 results being awarded, given the SPFL had to roll back on the penalties they imposed on clubs last season.
  19. This is now on the club website: https://ictfc.com/closed-doors-friendly-aberdeen-1-1-ictfc Thanks to ymip, I assume the trialist was Jevan Anderson: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jevan_Anderson
  20. It did finish 1-1. A very Aberdeen biased report here, with our line up at the very end of the report: https://www.afc.co.uk/report_nostats/pre-season-2021-aberdeen-v-ict/ Still no sign of the likes of Duffy, Devine, Deas, Allardice, McDonald or Mckay. Hopefully we don’t have a lot of injury concerns again.

Unusual to get two good semis in a major tournament. Must admit, England deserved to win based on the 120 minutes overall. I make Italy favourites for Sunday, but who knows what will happen.
  22. Oops. Wishing my life away!
  23. I can’t find anything about today’s game yet. Any word on the score, team or performance?

I had successfully erased Jimmy Hill from my memory until I read your post!! I lived in England for many years, loved the area we were in (still not a patch on here though) and the people we got to know were great. It is just a shame the BBC (and at times ITV) forget they are broadcasting to the full country, not just to England. That’s what winds me up.
