  1. Another 0-0 between Arbroath and Dunfermline tonight. This midweek has been good for us. Hopefully we can keep it going at Alloa on Saturday. We’ve only won three on the spin in the league twice this season so now is the time to match that and then go on a longer run to cement second. We seem to have a good team spirit so hopefully we can do it.
  2. We deserved our win. Great effort throughout the team, but both goals we conceded were poor. Great delivery by Walsh for White’s opener, and Rooney’s header was sublimely placed before Toddy turned up to clinch it. Not our best performance, but a solid team effort got us through it. Just what we need on such a hectic run of games. Ridgers had a good early save. Toshney was steady. McHattie always looks calm, but possibly not his best game at centre half tonight. Rooney and Tremarco both got forward well. Carson and Trafford worked hard in midfield. Walsh and Storey both had the beating of the dull backs, one of whom should have got a second yellow for a challenge on Doran. MacGregor got valuable game time. White had a a good game. All the subs then contributed, particularly Toddy! Just what we needed as at 2-2 I was a bit worried. Whilst we had beaten Morton heavily earlier in the season, they came tonight as the form team in the league: that was their first league defeat in 2020.

  4. Jamie McCart conceded the free kick that resulted in Ryan Christie’s free kick goal to win today’s cup quarter final.
  5. Piece in Courier about Tremarco. As the club has not made him an offer, he is considering whether to speak to other teams. Despite his age and injury issues, I believe we should offer a one year extension.
  6. Any word on when Welsh and Vincent will be available? What will Mckay be suspended for? With it being a straight red, two matches: one league one cup or just cup? If the league, Tuesday or Saturday?
  7. The league needs to come first now. We are in a 6 team battle for second so need to focus. Regarding the cup, we have been one of only two teams to beat a Premiership club and the only team outside the top flight to make the last eight. It would have been great to make the semis but it was not to be. The Challenge Cup should be seen as a bonus and I hope we win it but Raith are going well. Regardless of our views of last night’s performance, we need to get behind the guys on Tuesday. Morton are unbeaten in the league in 2020 so we can’t underestimate them.
  8. I’ve done the same, but it is your call Gringo. If the time you spend on it is excessive, I will not complain if you change it. It is a bit of fun that I really appreciate.
  9. I’m as disappointed as everyone else at the score and being out of the cup but we matched them for long spells and a couple of key moments went against us, the save from Walsh just before the first goal and the penalty being refused just before the second goal. Whatever you think, Hibs were not “rank rotten”, they played some high quality football and at times so did we. The scoreline flattered them and most comments on here are supportive of the team. Enjoy Norway. Hope you’ve plenty cash for the beer prices!
  10. I agree. Hibs have been quality but we’ve done ok. The second was the killer: a great counter attack but easily could have been a penalty for us. The sending off just made the outcome inevitable No way this is a 5-1 match!
  11. 3-1is a harsh score line. Yes, Hibs are a quality team but we have acquitted ourselves well in my opinion. Mckay red card now too.
  12. We’ve done well on the whole. Maybe a let off with the early penalty claim but a great save from the soft penalty. Only a great save stopped Walsh scoring before we conceded. We are still in this. The start to the second half will be key.
  13. Will we have 11 by the end? Tremarco will miss semi if we win tonight.
  14. I doubt we can sustain 4 3 3 all game as Hibs will take advantage at some point. Two early bookings is a worry. If we win, Carson suspended.
  15. No Vincent tonight and Storey on bench. Only 6 subs, one being Fraser Russell. No Machado which presumably confirms he is gone or going. Come on Caley Thistle, give us a great cup night.
  16. No Toshney, as cup tied, or Welsh tonight. I assume Keatings will be in for MacGregor and McHattie for Toshney but it will be interesting to see which two of Doran, Walsh and Storey start. I suspect the team will be: Ridgers Rooney Mckay McHattie Tremarco Carson Vincent Doran Keatings Walsh White I will be watching tv but hope all who have travelled have a great time!

  18. I agree. We have criticised the Board often but their approach worked and the support from outside Inverness has been immense. I must admit when I saw the first comment from the Board I thought it would end in tears, but credit to their judgement and integrity. Hopefully the powers that be will learn from this, but that may be too much to ask. As I said above, this whole episode may galvanise the squad and management team to round the season off well. Second place has to be our focus, but we should aim to win the Challenge Cup final and I know we’d all love a semi final day out at Hampden: we can all dream! As someone has said, let’s get behind our team and club and help them achieve their and our objectives.
  19. Great to hear about the effort put in. It is good we seem to be pulling together as a squad. A tough schedule with midweek games for the next three weeks which will be pivotal to our season and our chances of staying second Roll on Hibs!
  20. That’s what counts! One went in off the bar and the other took a deflection but who cares, we got what we needed!
  21. Yes! Big result. But 4 bookings from only 7 fouls??
