  1. 0-0 half time. Pretty even game. We’ve had more chances but also looked shaky at the back at times. A big 45 ahead.
  2. Our comedic defending is creeping back in. We’ve nearly self destructed twice at the back so far.
  3. Oh no, how did I miss that!? Carson needs to really be on his game as Tiffoney has had the beating of him this season at times. Whoever is wide right (Walsh or Sutherland presumably) needs to give cover too. There is grass on the pitch but not seen all of it yet in the BBC build up.
  4. Allardice is back in the squad and on the bench tonight. Strong team, but we need to handle Graham and Tiffoney better than we did in the 3-3 draw. Ridgers Carson Broadfoot Devine Deas Walsh Welsh McAlear Chalmers Mckay Sutherland with MacKay, Harper, Allardice, Samuels, Hardy and Hyde on the bench. No sign of Doran or Duffy.
  5. It is near the top of the list, after the Champions League semi final and listed as the Premiership Play Off.
  6. Looking forward to this one. Hopefully the team starts like they did on Friday and bring a lead up the road for the second leg.
  7. Thanks for doing this. Good fun and fortunately not for real money given my form over the last few months. Well done Scotty! I will be back for more punishment next season.

  11. The latest on this. Personally, whilst sad to see them relegated, their statement lacks plausibility in my opinion and they should just quietly accept their fate: https://mobile.twitter.com/FortWilliamFC/status/1520732010385485825?ref_src=twsrc^tfw|twcamp^embeddedtimeline|twterm^profile%3AFortWilliamFC|twgr^eyJ0ZndfZXhwZXJpbWVudHNfY29va2llX2V4cGlyYXRpb24iOnsiYnVja2V0IjoxMjA5NjAwLCJ2ZXJzaW9uIjpudWxsfSwidGZ3X3NwYWNlX2NhcmQiOnsiYnVja2V0Ijoib2ZmIiwidmVyc2lvbiI6bnVsbH19&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.fortwilliamfc.com%2F
  12. Not seen any today, but Joe Chalmers scored an own goal as Dunfermline confirmed their place in the relegation play off last night.
  13. Picking this thread up but focussing on his football after his recent performances and him winning the Players’ Player of the Season Award last night. He seems to have gone from strength to strength in the wide right role. His effort can never be faulted and he seldom gives possession away. Looking at the BBC stats, which exclude Challenge Cup games, he is our highest scorer (11) and has had the most assists (6). I know Mckay’s 5 Challenge Cup goals mean he is our overall top scorer, but Sutherland has played a part in 17 goals this season. He got some criticism during our bad run, but has come through that strongly and, in my opinion, his contribution is under rated by many fans. I’m not sure when his contract expires (was the extension he signed just for this season?). If he is out of contract this summer, I hope we are speaking to him about an extension.
  14. It is. He played one cup tie for Liverpool but got injured after joining Accrington last summer so never played for them before joining us on loan. He is a lively player and hopefully the goal will be the first of many. He even won a couple of headers last night despite being probably the smallest player on the park.
  15. Indeed. 19 points from our first 7 games. 21 points from our next 21 games (including 6 in 11 at the height of the slump). 19 points from our last 8 games. Had we turned 4 of the draws into wins we’d have pipped Killie on goal difference. All irrelevant now, as we have our most important games in recent years to prepare for.
  16. You were right to ask the question but fortunately our form has picked up at the right time. Who knows if we will get through the play offs but at least we have given ourselves a chance. Partick seem to have gone off the rails, but we cannot assume we will beat them. If we do, by the time we play Arbroath their players will be well rested so we will be underdogs despite our record against them this season. I’m cautiously hopeful but prepared for disappointment.
  17. Wow, I’ve finished with a win! That’s been a long time coming. My first season doing this, and good fun despite my predicting skills being woeful! Thanks MrCaleyjag.
  18. A very enjoyable Friday evening. What a first half: we looked like scoring whenever we went forward and all the goals were good. It is good to see Walsh on the scoresheet as that’s been missing from his game this season, and Hardy needed a goal. The second half was just about seeing the game out without causing issues for the play offs. I hope Duffy is not badly injured. Who’d have expected us to play the last half hour with Welsh and Hyde at centre half. MacGregor was in control in midfield whilst our movement in the middle and up front was excellent. The stand out for me was Hyde. He slotted into midfield as though he had been playing in the team all season. He reminded me of Carson, being tenacious but able to pick out a pass. It is really encouraging that we have more young players who should become first team regulars. I hope we are all as happy next Friday at full time.
  19. Well deserved awards to all three, and a very nice touch to have the award to the disabled young fan too. I got two out of three, with McAlear and his goal, but I went for Sutherland. Carson is a fans’ favourite so no arguments from me, particularly given the issues he has had to deal with this season. It is always interesting who the players vote for and it tells us a lot about how important Sutherland is for us.
  20. Our starting 11: Ridgers Carson Duffy Deas Harper Sutherland MacGregor Hyde Walsh Mckay Hardy with MacKay, Welsh, Chalmers, McAlear and Samuels on the bench. Just bumped into Carl Tremarco outside the ground.
  21. Our physio, Dougal Sim, is retiring at the end of the season and the club is recruiting a replacement: https://ictfc.com/vacancy-first-team-physiotherapist I am sure we all wish Dougal a long and happy retirement.

  23. I actually did advocate not taking any chances tomorrow night further up the thread but was highlighting that Arbroath, in comparison, will be well rested when their next game comes round whereas whoever they face (hopefully us) will have played two games in that time. I agree fully with Satan’s comments and just hope we do have games thick and fast after tomorrow’s.
