Thats what worries me also- 6 goals conceded in Denmark. 3 against county and another 2 v St Johnstone. 11 goals against to 12 for. Bit tight is it not?
-
McNulty is highly rated keeper also, but with a 3-0 win i imagine he wouldnt have been overly tested. Shame my name sake wasn't playing but i think he's only 16!
-
They must have a new stand. Sure when i was there last it only had the main and one behind the goal. There was a supermarket behind the other goal and a big barren bit opposite the main. surely cant hold 6000? could be wrong. Excellent rail link mind. Right of the train at the 1st Hamilton stop after Weegie land and across the bridge and down the path and your there.

Planet no, another universe perhaps

If there is ever someone to clarify something its Scotty - thats exactly what i've in my own round about way been trying to say and you manage it in one post! Paul Ritchie got stick for being a slow, cumbersome oalf but he was a goal getter, even though most came against the lesser teams - he and wyness were a key reason in our high scoring ratio in the 1st. But he came better when he got a bit of support and he was alot older than Rory and far more experienced. Wyness even got a little bit until he switched to being a wide right player into a goal MACHINE! I see McAllister as very much like Wyness only taller (in both on field character and style) Both are skillful forwards (based on what i've seen of Wyness and the very very very limited snippets of Rory) with an eye for goal. Neither are spectacular in the air. Both seem to be very quiet Aberdeen rejects with confidence problems who given the encouragement will flourish.... well we can hope in Rory's case. Think of it like a child wanting to get into a pool (or alternative water source) with his pals but the water is a little cold. Some jump right in (think Wayne Rooney) Little Rory however is tenitively dipping his tootsies in to test the water. Now if his friends encourage him he'll join them in their fun little game but if they scream at him for being a usless *** and boo his lack of courage then he might run home to mummy :015: Lets encourage him for this season at least.. we need him to jump in!

Sorry Yngwigignie (i'll check the spelling later.) I dont understand whats going on. The board don't seem to have a hold on this and its making the club look silly. I'd sooner be shot of him and look to the future. If the club are, however, standing their ground over a fee either Dinamo are due or Marius himself then fair play. I salute their stance but hopefully they will clarify that. It seems unlikely though on past evidence that they will. How many times has it been said though that we cant complete a transfer in less than 6 weeks - normally a joke but it has some substance. I want closure **** it. Oh and those invoices... i could rustle up something on my desktop in 10 minutes like that. Eastern European clubs are sneaky me thinks. :024:

He will get a chance no doubt but will most likely be on the bench most weeks with Kerr or Duff, wood and Vigurs (due to the U21 rule) I'd like to see: Fraser Tokely ? Munro Hastings Wilson Black McBain Imrie Cowie Barrowman with a bench of: Esson Duff/Kerr Sutherland Vigurs Wood McAllister Duncan

Any chance that Niculae while away on personal business sorted out personal terms and now the club are having to finalise the fee. Has Niculae been in breach of contract?

I dont think Brewster is really touting him as the man for next season but moreso giving him a challenge. He said along the lines of "rory could save me a fortune if he keeps up this form" (not an exact quote) This sounds like he is challenging him to go and prove that he doesnt need to spend money on a forward but that he can be the ready made one. Saying that he CAN be the main man is he wants it. Sounds like encouragment. I think it was a mistake letting Bayne go. He's fairly consistant and always seems to get around 6 a season. He is a hard worker too, even if sometimes he can run around like a headless chicken. But alas he's offski too!
-
This stinks. Again the board see it fine to drag the clubs name through the mud. Get it sorted - anything between 400,000 and 500,000 will do fine and it should not be ICTs responsibility to pay the player and agent unless there is an agreement in writing. Can ICT not be involved in a clean cut transfer?

Well, having watched Dods playing against Barcelona, the other day and listening to the commentry '' Dods has shepherded him into a corner'' .. ''Dods is doing a professional job at the back'' etc ..... The players he was up against all had ?10/20 million price tags round there necks and he did not look phased at all. I wonder if we really were aware how well he came on during his time with us and just, perhaps, he did leave a bigger hole in the defence than we and BREW, appreciated!

I remember i was visiting a friend in Hamilton once. He wasn't from Hamilton but i stayed there with him for a year before moving back to Edinburgh while he stayed for longer. Anyway Clyde were playing Hamilton that day so me and another mate who went through to Hamilton decided to go beforehand as he used to be a Clyde season ticket holder (dont ask me why). It was quite possibly the most rank rotten game of football we ever did witness. It was either 0-0 or 1-0 clyde (Cant remember if the cross hit the bar or went in) but other than that absolutely nothing happened. Nothing! But eh welcome to the site anyway!
-
I also had the impression he was pacey. I also have no idea where i got that from! But a big man up front - we need that. Get it done Craig!
-
what is a " prevailing challenging economic climate" ??
Council Juice replied to mikeyrob73's topic in Caley Thistle
surely the grammer isnt quite all there - "prevailing challenging" doesnt sound or look right. Too many ings i suspect. .....college drop out by the way! -
Well if we need defencive coaching.... oh what the **** you already know im gonna nominate - The King :021:
-
Fraser Tokely Proctor/Duff/Kerr* Munro Hastings Cowie Black McBain Imrie Rory/Wood Barrowman/Rooney** * Anyone but Maguire ** Hopefully we get Rooney And if you are Billy Reid incognito then we dont really change our line up from season to season. Munro, Fraser, Tokely, McBain and Hastings on and off have been here forever and Black since we joined the top flight so just look at last seasons line ups and you wont go far wrong bar up front.

Pressley was good a Celtic when he 1st signed and knocked us out the cup! Only last season he picked up a few injuries and couldnt force himself back into the strongest (on stats) defence in the league. No shame in that. Surely there was a reason Celtic wanted him? Im sure they'd still keep him if he wasn't after 1st team football. As for Jackie Macnamara - he was outstanding for 2 maybe 3 seasons under O'Neill and thats it. He was a fairly average defender other than that. It showed at Wolves (where fair enough he was injured alot) and Aberdeen. He is now at Falkirk who are probably better than us and Pressley is as good. Surely it is remembered what Dods was doing before joining us. Playing for 1st Division St Johnstone..... reserves! And look how well that turned out. I dont understand how anyone can currently think what we have is better. Maguire
-
Cowie wants to stay, hes been quoted as much but his deal runs out this summer so lets get a new one pronto with Black.
-
You are looking at the Pressley of old. He might have been a good player then but we saw last season how badly off the pace he has fallen. He would be a waste of a wage. We would get far better value for money signing someone with something to prove as opposed to someone who used to be good. Tell you what, Mike Teasedale was a cracking defender for us. Shall we bring him back to solve our defensive woes? Mike Teasdale was a cracking defender about 10 years ago for us in a lower league... Its not really much of an argument! Pressley needs games, or at least a run of them. He only had a handful and was rusty. The season before he was still good and anyone can surely tell that he's the type who always gives his all. To be honest though there is no point debating it because the club wont even enquire never mind offer him a deal. Never mind him sign for us. But he is good enough.

Seems unlikely.... its about ?7 a pint in Denmark!

Well no one has actually went "boo" :001: on this thread but it HAS happened at matches albeit i think the people on this site are NOT the brainless idiots that do that. Its not needed though. CaleyD makes a good point. He hasn't stepped up to the mark...yet, but I think Brewster as a fairly clever striker in his day (as well as physical) can get the best out of him with a run of games. Its the only way you can ever find out. Its risky sure but nessesary. As for his drinking (more than likely on a saturday night after the game - most players get the next day off to recuperate anyway) if it was a problem does anyone not think fitness freak Brewster would come down on him like a tonne of bricks...or with his build a tree :004: Also to the point of Zander and Vigurs (both midfielders) and wood showing more potential made by some. Would it be fairer to through in guys younger than him who, given a barren run or bad game even, gets the same abuse? He came on for 35 minutes and banged in another hat-trick against a decent side. Give him his chance and see if he takes it. Does anyone remember Wyness? He took a while to get going but he did it with style. Sorry if i also appear to jump to his defence but i like to advocate youth players and give them the full support as they will either make it and get the club a good transfer fee or stay and be a legend, or not make it and be released - no harm done.
-
I think most players are able to take stick and a joke. But when it comes to booing your own - It has happened. As stated before on this site then it will not make the guy play well. Its the coaches job to get him to play well tell him "go out and show those numpties what you can do and stick it up them!" Encourage him that when he does play well to let the supporters who bash him know it ie the hand to ear celebration. But i think he can, if all goes well, get around 10 goals this season. All i'm saying is if the coaches who've played football as a career all their life or been involved and that includes national coaches too rate him then why do the fans not who lets face it, most, only think they know.
-
I Thank God someone said it! Is that why he was a Scotland regular until his injury?! :017: Albeit not the best national team ever, Scotland can more than hold their own. Pressley is kicking on a bit yes but he is a great leader and organiser. Countless coaches have said so in the past along with countless fans. Weir is a bit slow but a regular in a team who got to the Uefa cup final and he's about 400 years older! Anyone who thinks that Pressley is not only not good enough for us but would not easily, when fit, be a 1st team regular is somewhat deluded or knows little about football.
-
Taken from official site -Helforge match report Noticed Rory came on and netted a good hat trick and Rooney scored again. We were however 3-1 down and conceded 4!!! :010: But alot of positives up front. (oh and we conceded 3 with maguire in the team and only one with duff)
-
Getting the four players - Black, Cowie, Fraser and Munro on new deals is imperative. And get Wilson a coaching role. I read that cowie said talks are on going and he wants to stay. lets get that sorted. If Black wants his future sorted before christmas then go out to achieve that. And get the others sorted asap too! It was Brewster who gave him his real chance at ICT and he probably now appreciates his strict approach.
