  1. Did Poland not join the EU at the same time as Bulgaria and Romania yet none of them need permits. Da Silva at Arsenal still doesnt have a permit so there may be a delay. He's played every game for Croatia in the last year but only has a 50% play rate cos he never played the year before. And Croatia aren't even in the EU either. Be patient kids, all wil come good.
  2. Surely a mere fabrication. The beast is fine. He is an impregnable pillar of doom!
  3. Surely a cat is far more of a stupid idea for an inverness mascot?! Why not Harry Haggis?
  4. see work permit thread - it is a member but employmnt visas still needed. Whats the point in being a EU member if you dont get all the mod cons that come with it?! Its like buying a car and not getting a car stereo with it. Or a house with no keys to the door.
  5. Is this not one of our last friendlies? Perhaps our strongest line up according to CC will be the order of the day. mmmm :024:
  6. Given our result last night perhaps we should stick to playing Highland league teams! :029:
  7. I thought Romania was part of the EU nowadays anyway. Everybody else seems to be! :024:
  8. Yeah get this to the Anything Goes :001: Nah - Ace job on the website. Its got bigger and bigger but still kept its community feel. Not like those faceless big clubs sites
  9. If he was playing for a lower level SPL side he wouldnt be in the Scotland team - correct. But the fact he managed to break through into a Rangers Squad when no other youth player could and hold down a 1st team place since then and become captain must mean something. The reason he's in the Scotland squad is, your right, because he's at Gers but surely thats self explanatory - they are one of the top two teams in the country and are regularly in the top two and in Europe, often the Champions league. Your going to include those type of players as Scotland doesnt have many. Black, Rankin etc have never played at the top level outwith the SPL and therefore are not in the Scotland squad. I'd love to see them there but unless they do something unbelievable this season or gain a move to a bigger club which is challenging for top honours its (hate to say it) unlikely. Not impossible but unlikely. They should follow Naismiths example though. Proof that a smaller club can produce an international! Id defo have Naismith at ICT in a second
  10. Joinville i believe has just been released by 2nd div French team Ajaccio who were in the ligue 1 2 seasons ago where he never played. He was on loan last season in the 3rd tier where he played 14 times. He is around 6'2 and is 23 years of age. Shorter and older than me. And not as good at footie i reckon either :023: oh and that was a horrendous result :018:.... SACK CC :015:
  11. Fraser Tokely McCaffrey Munro © Hastings Hart Duncan Black Rankin Wyness Bayne Subs Ridgers Duff Sutherland Wilson (on for hart) Cowie Paatelainen McDonald Im not liking the attitude of some, by listing Duff and Sutherland as only in the squad as U21 and only because of this that their included. How would you feel looking at that saying "well im only on the bench to satisfy the SPL age quota rules" In my squad their there on merit! :clapping03:
  12. I dont like Fergie (already stated this) but he does far more than pass back to the keeper. If you watch him properly his midfield positional sense is excellent especially while attacking. He can spray passes left, right and centre and has a good pass completion ratio. He also works very hard for the team. Yes there was the time when he couldnt play for Scotland due to his hip but he did the morally right thing in not allowing himself as half fit to represent his country. I know alot of people dont like him due to his strong Rangers associations but i dont think people should allow this to cloud their judgement of what i would consider Scotlands 2nd best midfielder after Fletcher. ....Still wouldnt have him at Caley mind :crazy07:
  13. I agree that getting in a centre half and we will have had a good summer signing wise. Even if we can get one in on loan as cover and have a look to signing one in January it might be worth it. Surely theres a few prem kids needing 1st team games. I'd have liked to have seen us take on a sterner challenge than highland league teams and a Quatar u21 side but if CC is happy that it has got the lads sharp for the off, then I trust him.
  14. Kenny Miller is truly awful! Yes he has alot of pace and a fantastic work rate from which if he didnt have he'd be a pub team player at best. He has absolutely no composure in front of goal. Every time i watch him i see him get over excited when the ball comes near and fluff the oppotunity (for example the miss in Italy at 1-0 which we lost 2-0 via two Pirlo free kicks). If you want a player with pace who works hard take Novo. At least he can finish occasionally!! And although i personally see Barry Ferguson as a complete ***, he is a very good player who can pass tackle and score goals. A moany wee sh*te but a very good player. No chance anyone with sense would drop him for Scotland. Its like the people who berated Lennon as a fat wee turd who did nothing. I wouldnt have thought he'd play nearly every game for Celtic since he signed (when fit). Yes he's a fat wee ugly ginger turd, but he had something. If I could have any player i'd take Kevin Thompson or Stephen McManus. Or Naismith
  15. Dont forget Phil MaCracken Ben Dover and Phil MaCracken are good buds apparently :023: But Phil Marsh - go fer him. Maybe he knows Rankin. Maybe Rankin recommended him :024:
  16. I certainly wouldnt see playing a big team like Ajax as any great benefit where the team have to chase the ball for 90 minutes and possibly get annihilated but i always thought that the best way to gauge a teams progress and getting the balance right was about playing at least a semi pro team. Teams like Millwall, Darlington or Rotherham etc. And if we playing Rotherham we might even get the Chuckle Brothers! :010: Im not a football coach but I dont want the players to get a fright at the start of the season. I really dont think anything lower than 6th this year can be success for us. Still a big thingfor sucha small team. Mind you I'd take 8th and a cup final! :021:
  17. Is anyone else slightly concerned that we are facing off against the likes of Clach, County and Keith and Falkirk etc are playing profesional outfits (i mean this term as loosely as one could) like Millwall and Darlington? Maybe Im making a mountain out of a molehill that the standard we face to get ready for pre season isnt the best - bring on Chelsea!!!
  18. This guy is gonna be major hit or miss! Im mainly concerned about his fitness -he's seemed to have had problems with injuries and he's missed a pre season. Even if he's ready at the start of the season it might take over two months for him to be match fit (and thats if he doesnt get injured) and then he's got to learn English, adjust to the culture and the style of the Scottish game. It could be that he's really good and wanting to prove himself so alot of that won't matter. I just hope that if he's guff to start with the "fans" dont get on his back. Im really pleased the club have showed such ambition in signing a seasoned International with a good european pedigree and just about to hit his prime and long may such ambition continue.
  19. Bamba is inconsistent i agree but i think he would get more consistent at a better team with good organisation like caley. Looking at Burchill might be worth a try also - would cost though i imagine.
  20. Im gonna plum for Bayne. Although not our best player he always tries hard for the team and gets goals in important games. His all round game has come on leaps and bounds since his 1st season in the SPL. Munro is also not given enough credit
  21. The 1st division used to be host to a fine array of strikers when we were there. Only Mcmenimen and Scotland caught the eye last season in terms of goal getting though. Goals are what make the difference and I dont think that even if Wyness has a good year next year he can do it alone. Bayne is good for half a dozen goals but we need a pacey front man to play with Denzils good feet and Baynes physical presence so Burchill would be an interesting proposition.
  22. Grassa says that 2 strikers and a centre back is what we are after (and thats taking into account losing Dargo) so an experienced forward looking for a fresh start and hungry to prove himself and a youngster hungry to make it in the game. We need another powerhouse at the back. Dunfermlines Bamba doesnt want to play 1st division football? Alex Burns perhaps upfront? I doubt we'll get anyone from a top team. Have to scour the 1st division or look at our rivals.
  23. Signing players for Inverness must be the hardest job going. Not only do you have to attract them to the SPL without the yearly euro fix but also no where near the central belt either. Alot of players see Inverness as out in the wilderness and really far away from anywhere. No wonder we sign so many County Players. So CC should be given credit where due. He deserves a bit of job security.
  24. As a player representing a community club if the alleged allegations are indeed fact then it is a disgrace and the said player should if true be rightfully ashamed at his actions as this not only tarnishes his reputation but the name of the club as well. However I use recreational drugs (not saying whether their legal or not) from time to time and haven't felt that they overly affect my character in a bad way. Most make me merry and sociable (others i shun away from). I don't really care if i'm judged for this. I've seen plenty more fools who bring society down on booze than other things. Francis Begbie was anti smack but he was a violent so and so and couldn't handle his drink in a positive sense. Also look at Holland - before relaxing the laws on cannibas and such the drug crime and crime in general in Amsterdam was reaching unsustanible levels. It was on an upward spiral. Crime there now has reached record lows and continues to fall. The UK on the other hand has some of the strictest laws on drugs in Europe and the highest crime rates along with that. To put it briefly, I really hope if guilty the club dont go down the Chelsea/Mutu route and sack the player. Rehab and an enforced, but agreed to, community service helping youths with drug problem would be more benificial. Whether the SFA chose to hammer any players on recreational drugs is outwith the clubs control but I am always bewildered why players who get done for steroids (and other performance enhancing drugs) get much shorter sentences than sportsmen who do cocaine for example. Cocaine is more of a personal problem which needs help than a means of cheating. Someone dying of a heroin overdose at rock ness doesn't do much to lower the profile. Moral of the story - Do what you like to your body, but dont get caught! :018:
