  1. Heroes include Dennis Wyness who is the clubs all time top goal scorer and Ian Stewart who held record before him. Ross Tokely who has been at the club from the beginning of the adventure. Barry Wilson who has dazzled on the wings for many a year Managers include Charlie Christie who is a Inverness man born and bred and remained loyal to the club and works in the backroom staff now after a period as the manager/head coach. He was a star player for the Caledonian side of the club in the Highland league and played right through for ICT till the 1st division. Scoring on his finale for the team! Steve Paterson who took us from the 3rd to the 1st division as head coach with the team playing wonderfully attractive footie and scoring goals for fun before parting ways. He left us in good nick though with a talented squad. John Robertson who took over from Paterson. He gave us the consistency we required to win the league in his 1st full season. He was a Hearts (Edinburgh team) legend who returned there as the club was close to his heart. Other fans favourites include Grant Munro a centre half who has risen through the youth ranks to become captain and Richard Hastings the left back who got the name tricky dicky when he joined us as a young 17 year old from Canada. Former stars include Darren Dods who was a rock at the back and threat going forward and captain for 2 years. Bobby (Bloaby) Mann - big burley no nonsense centre half who captained us in the 1st divsion. Davide Xuasa - A player with great technique and eye for goal although much critisised for workrate and joining 1st divison rivals Livingston ( a team from the west of Edinburgh who we battled with through the divisions. Also a new team so fans rivals) Barry Robson who was a cut above anyone in the 1st division and is now a Celtic regular and Scotland International. Many fans are proud to think that we made him and gave him his chance after Rangers turfed him out. Was a moody wee so and so though. There are others but i'll leave that to others. Current stars include Ross Tokely,Richard Hastings, Grant Munro, Don Cowie, Ian Black, Mike Fraser, Roy McBain, Dougie Imrie and Russell Duncan(at times) Look out for Andy Barrowman who is a new star up front in the making. Scored on compeditive debut! Iain Vigurs, Dale Gillespie, Jamie Duff, Rory MacAllister, Gary Wood and Zander Sutherland are all potential future stars. Our Manager is Craig Brewster who returned after being at Dundee Utd and playing for Aberdeen. Was still playing and scoring at 40 till his shoulder packed in.
  2. MacAllister was released from the Aberdeen youth policy too. We took him on but not our product originally
  3. I prefer the way dutch guys do the "eeehhhh" It seems really deep and prolonged. Add a Ronald De Boer eye brow in there and it's almost funny.
  4. Defo take him but be hard to get i reckon. Probably rejoin Buddies or go to Dundee Utd or Dons
  5. Was gonna say Gypsie but you'd have to swap the S and P around so obviously not. poor goalkeeping
  6. Is Alan Hutton injured, as he better be if Whittaker is in the squad. Replace his 1st initial with S and you'll get a true likening as to his recent performances. Calum Davidson - How on Earth? McCulloch has never let down for Scotland nor has Dailly (except v Faroes in 2-2 debacle) Weir isnt showing enough and is slowing up so doesnt deserve it. O'Conner should be there also. Who is Kris Commons? Darren Barr aint ready in my opinion but he's promising and talented. Im wary about the Burley era now even though I thought him best candidate for job at the time. Glad to see Kevin Thompson finally in there.
  7. I love that cockyness. Imrie is my hero!
  8. seems to show 3 Aberdeen chances and 2 Caley Thistle goals. Could have squeezed in another of our chances to make it look even and not us breaking all the time. Even though that was our gameplan
  9. Promising times indeed. Zander and Wilson are really our only true wingers with other wide men being more midfielders as such (ie Imrie, McBain, Proctor, Cowie) Wilson is getting to the age where yes he can offer the moment of magic but not much else other than crunching leg breaking challenges (sent off in friendly and clattering challenge v Dons) I dont think Brewster wants to throw young Zander right in the thick of it but slowly bed him in if he shows the capablility, It will be the same with Duff, Kerr, Vigurs, Rory and Wood. Signing one or both the Ugandan and Kerchen would give further options up front and much needed pace to the width. As much as i see a centre half as a priority, if the management can't find a suitable available option which will improve the team at the right price then Im happy with that. No point signing any old muck. I'd still like to see a big man up front. Maybe Rory Wood and Rooney be those players Brewster sees as filling that role but they are all very young.
  10. 2nd place aint good enough for me. I want to go throught season winning every game, not conceding a goal and scoring a minimum of 2 a game and finish on top. If this does not happen i demand Brewster be sacked!
  11. well listen to that then. I 1st noticed it when he was a player at hibs and he was doing a wee tv interview and he had to stop and breath every 4 words or so.
  12. bbc match reaction page with interview clicky Anyone else ever noticed how out of breath brewster appears at times during post match interviews?
  13. Be careful to keep the team compact and try to make them hard to beat. One up front can held this with a defensive mid who marks either their key striker or attacking mid and allows the rest of the defence to zonal mark. Set him to be defensive and not make forward runs (i've found black can be good at this but use Duncan as i want Ian to get forward) try a 4-1-2(centre mids)-2 (wingers AMR/AML)-1. Or 4-3-2-1 like Motherwell. Sometimes it just takes your highest offer to get a player not what they ask for. No doubt Marlet will sign for St Mirren. Done it to me in more than one game. It can take a while to get the team winning. DO NOT change your tactics drastically from match to match as the team loses any momentum and struggles to gel. Motherwell are generally my bogey team.
  14. SMEE Posted Aug 3 2008, 04:07 PM Championship Manager switched developers. SI games now make Footie Man and its way better in detail and accuracy!
  15. Well my best run was when i got to uefa cup group stages. I played a 3-5-2 of sorts. Flat back three with two wing backs running forward. 3 in midfield. with an att mid and forward in front. playing slightly defensive quick direct counter attacking game with a defence just shy of being described as deep. This worked well with MacGregor of Clyde until Hearts bullied me to sell him for 800k! Use Wing backs running forward with arrows up to midway in their half. Make sure they can cross! Jonny Howson becomes an ace att mid who i got for 400k but sold for ?4.4m to Man City! It is dam near impossible keeping your players unless you start winning stuff. So push for as much as you can! 4-4-1-1 works well with the att mid running into box (ie arrow pointing up via right hold of mouse and drag) 4-2-2(wingers)-1 works ok as does the christmas tree of 4-3-2-1 with the "2" running straight out wide to either side (Motherwell deploy this alot in the game and can be a right annoyance - particularly with Darren Smith!
  16. I'm a touch unsure on the issue to be honest. Most Spl teams attendances without Old Firm fans and their teams big name status are usually alot lower. The rest of the Spl have been relying on the 4 old firm games a season (barring maybe Hibs Hearts Aberdeen and possibly DUFC) to fill their stadium and their coffers. Albeit this keeps them afloat at times! Maybe the old firm dont see why they or their fans should incurr an extra cost any more for selling tickets for another venue. But the easy solution does seem for the teams to sell the tickets to the OF fans themselves if they dont want to give up 5% (which is a steep charge anyway)
  17. Always preferred this site mainly for the forum.
  18. Depends for a start whether you have downloaded the patch 8.0.2 for it from SI games website yet(advice strongly -few bugs). and if your running the 8.0.2 database or default database (estimated sell fee) But generally on default sell players like Dean Mcdonald (75k and 10-20% sell on fee) , Richie Hart (100k), Graham Bayne (100k) If your using updated 8.2 database sell Phil Maguire also (100k) Terminate loans for Steven Watt and Zibi the Hibee to free up wages fight tooth and nail to keep Black, Cowie, Niculae, Rory McAllister Offer all contract extensions but likelyhood Niculae wont sign one so offload him after 1st season if you want some decent dosh(ie real life). Cowie is a player along with Black who become very good and can be Scotland regulars. Black and Rory will in a few years get itchy feet and want a move. I got ?1m plus for Rory and ?1.6m for Black when they kept clammering for moves. Keep Duncan, Fraser, Tokely and Munro. Prob Hastings too. Wyness can get you around 100k in market if you so wish extra dosh. If you have update get 75k for Imrie Youth players Dale Gillespie and Iain Vigurs (possibly shane Sutherland) and Gary Wood all worth keeping a hold off and weaning into the team as all become fairly decent. (you'll get interest but its worth not taking the money and running initially as you'll get tons more later) Vigurs is ready to play in 1st team in the 8.0.2 updated database. Players to go for. Ive always found Neil MacGregor of Clyde a decent 180k buy especially on the right of a back 3. Tommy Hoiland develops into a good player but can be tricky to get. I love shoes Moshoe(just type shoes into search bar). Hes 38 but you can get him free on default database or 24k on update and is still fit for an old guy. Very creative. Dean Furman on loan from Rangers. Scott Cuthbert loan from Celtic - dont pay wages for either or fee,you should still get them. Miki Roque after 1st season is a free from liverpool. Witschge is free at start but old. Marlet is abitious free at start. I'll think of more if you need em. Just PM me *note patch 8.0.2 fixes bugs which can ruin a game (i lost the fixture engine after a dream 2 seasons. Never had any domestic games) but gives you option of using the 8.0.2 database with all late and January deals 08(ie Imrie and Maguire) or the default so you can start as the team did last season 07. Just select when setting up game. (oh eh central defender Oscar C Sanchez at 37 is a steal for 12k and lasts for years on DEFAULT database) Hope I was of service
  19. Nah not rossco. This season maybe too early but i'd like to see Black get it. I've seen so often players with sometimes temperment problems mature far faster and improve their game vastly with the armband. And lead others by example. Although Rossco has been a heck of a servant to the club and that should never be discounted. I'd be happy for Munro to keep it. Up to Brew though...
  20. I think this has become a mountain out of a molehill scenario. I dont believe Marius is out to get more than he agreed to. Somewhere there has been a misunderstanding and it would be far smarter for the club to send out a representative to iron out the situation around a table. To be honest, Marius has been a good servant to the club, even if it was just to get him to the Euros(or a good fishing destination), and if Dinamo can offer top flight and European football then fair play to the guy. He's more likely to get noticed playing in Romania by his National boss anyway. We got around ?400k and if we have to pay around ?70-100k to marius as part of his contract then so be it. We'll still be ?300k better off as the original ?270k Alan Savage invested wasnt our money anyway. But point is i just want the club to move on and concentrate on the new season and get some boardroom stability too.
  21. Scotland on Sunday although has no place prediction seemingly ecpects us to be just behind in the top six race...again. Hamilton and Killie on comments seem the fav's for relegation. Every striker Killie get either is injured or another unknown entity. Allan Russell became probably their best known and even he is out for a bit. And he finished behind Barrowload in the goal charts. Got someone from parma on loan though i think. Hamilton are all babies. Hopefully Hansen will be right. The Sunday Mail is a joke in terms of journalism full stop. The writers always seem to be no more than well informed punters (in the sense they get info 1st) who attend a fair few games, but we've all been to games where there is a regular fan or two who clearly know hee haw when it comes to footie but shout and scream as if their managing the team. Its probably them
  22. Yeah does it not have to be an upstanding member of the community sort of person and a member impartial to either side. Does a written contract with witness also not require them to be a non related impartial registered member of notary public? Does a written and signed agreement need any witness at all as long as both parties sign it?
  23. Not going to get my hopes up on this. Think he might just be meaning coming into the role of captaincy as opposed to joining club.
