  1. The Union flag is as much Scottish as it is English. And Northern Irish. Only the Welsh could really say it wasn't that representative as it has none of the attributes of their home nation flag. Wales has no representation in the Union Flag because Wales, having been annexed by Edward 1st in 1282 was recognised as a part of the Kingdom of England. The flag is made up of the St Andrews cross, St Georges cross and St Patricks cross. Tesco are an English company, albeit one that bullied their way into every country they operate in by dubious means and hostile takeovers, so I suppose they have the right to sell 'England related' stuff if they so wish.
  2. As must be the other 29,999 of us KB. Tonights feast........I predict a win for France and a boring draw Ukraine v Sweden
  3. Doing a very rough calculation based on seat availability on the online purchase site and the number of seats in main and north stands, excluding wings we have sold some 2500 ST's give or take a few
  4. Not English........Scottish.
  5. When I was a lad growing up in RoyBridge there was a general store and post office/newsagent. Store sold Mackintosh's and PO sold Bon Accord.
  6. Bauhaus, have you been on the Fort - Mallaig road recently. 45 minutes journey time now without breaking limits. Morar and Arisaig totally bypassed.
  7. Before puting seats in the west stand the capacity was 7,512. I think there's three hundered seats in west stand. I thought each end stand held 2,500 with the main stand being 2,512. Yet research suggests that when first opened there were 2,280 seats in the main stand. Was there seats added here?
  8. Thought I read at the weekend that he was in Largs doing his coaching badges.
  9. I just cant believe the mentality of many on here. In one breath the club should be looking to the lower Scottish leagues and Highland league for players. Those leagues full of part time teams and part time players. Then when we sign a player from a league down south we are slated for giving a part time player a chance.
  10. And the jailend is still going to have pillars blocking the view.
  11. They were certainly more up for it. Portugal were crap apart fron twenty minutes at the end of the game.
  12. For a team that many were making favourites the Dutch are pretty mediocre.
  13. Blackie is looking for international recognition but the only way he'll get a call up is if he tames his hotheadedness. Butcher is possibly the one person who could get Blackie playing great football without getting the red cards.
  14. I may have an obelisk protruding from my napper but I'm definitely not a dickhead.
  15. Think he'd be a bit old to play for us.
  16. First point SMEE. It wasn't a lorry that hit the bus. It was a small van. Bauhaus dont you think you may be exagerating slightly in your last sentence. If that was your old man then he was as guilty as anyone else. Even the police are breaking the law if their driving at those speeds without blues. As for the road. I drive it very frequently and have never been close to an altercation with another vehicle. I have however witnessed some real stupidity at times. I've witnessed people risk lives to get a few places ahead of the traffic only to come up behind them at the first set of roadworks. Roads are not dangerous. Roads are not killers. Thats people. Back to yesterdays accident. It is believed that the van was trying to overtake the car when the bus appeared. Knowing the section of road I find that difficult to comprehend though. There are no blind bends.
  17. Anne, I can understand some of your despair but dont you think ICT fans have expectations greater than the club can provide. We are a small team in a big league. We will always be fighting off relegation. We dont have the fanbase or the funds to be anything other. As to the continuing gripes about local talent. Look at the squad. Look at how many players we have that came through our system. I think, considering the size of the population, we are doing very well in bringing through the ones we have. And I'm sure there will be more in years to come. A footballing talent is something thats in the genes. It is then nurtured and coached to perfection. Those talents are few and far between within our country far less our wee city. That is reflected in both our national team and last seasons U-19 performances.
  18. Nobody can ever say we paid a heavy price by letting Grant go. None of us know how he would have performed had he still been with us. Yes he done well for County but that was in a league below. The season previous he was forever being blamed for our performances and being accused of hoof and hope.
  19. Difficult one Johndo......our fans cant even agree on who plays well or who plays badly in a given match.
  20. Season ticket sales dropped before the season even started so thats not an excuse.
  21. So your saying Ferdinand was dropped on racist grounds and not that he's passed it.
