  1. A couple of downsides to that First......will he perform to his potential if forced to stay but having signed a pre-contract? Second.......any bidding war may not benefit ICT as it could become geared around what the player is offered
  2. Provided its kept as its current use and provided there's a decent membership using the place then I think it could be a good bit of business all round. The seller gets some much needed cash and the buyer gets the rent.
  3. Personally I'd rather we get something for him than let him go for nout.
  4. PullmyFinger.....a person though not one with interests in a major building company in the region. DC........Doesn't ICT own it?
  5. Firstly I don't know how to multi quote but to Tug- It is not the time frame it is the losing 8 games from the season. 4 home game per team, it doesn't generate enough games in that respect. And before someone mentions an expanded league cup, groups, just look at the crowds in the competition just now, even in derbys. It would never make up the shortfall. As for not having enough good enough team, I ws refering to an 18 team league and we definitely don't. For a start you would have to get rid of any stadium requirement whatsoever as at the moment you could only make 18 teams that meet the current requirements by going down to the 2nd division and then into the 3rd. At the moment we could just about get away with 18 teams but then we would have Cowdenbeath, Morton, Brechin etc at the top of the 1st battling to get into the top league. There is just not enough quality and enough big clubs to sustain an 18 team league. Also there would be so many meaningless games in an 18 team league that it would be so dull. At the moment only 1-3 qualify for Europe, it would create far to many dead games in the middle of the league. The only options that will be seriously considered I think are 10, 12 or 14 team league. Raith Rovers, Dundee, Dunfermline, Falkirk, Partick Thistle all have the grounds and top flight experience. Livingston will likely be promoted this season so thats six teams with everything in place already. So all would likely come from the first div by the time change came about. As for the teams battling to get into the SPL in the future would they not have to show there ambition by meeting the required criterea just like everyone else had to do.
  6. Statement from George HERE The future of Scottish football has to involve the people that pay through the gates and its high time the powerbrokers realised that. They also need to realise that without all the other clubs there would be no Celtic or Rangers. Those people are supposed to be developing the game not ensuring the OF stay top of the league and ultimately in European competition. Every team should get a sensible share of the pot and every team should have to operate within their means and without debt. Let the league expand and let every club have a fair chance to win it.
  7. I heard a different slant on that. The building will be sold to a person, who I wont name, It will then be rented back and kept on as ICT Social Club. The current owners of the building will get a lump sum of cash up front and will pay rent to the new owner. The new owner will then be responsible for the upkeep of the building.
  8. Fans dont want this so are they going to go ahead and risk the possibility that gate reciepts will fall. Are Aberdeen, Rangers and Celtic going to bring the same numbers to Inverness twice in a season. Already we see a decline from that support. I think it will only worsen. Dundee U would bring a couple of thousand in previous seasons. I dont think that will be the case this season let alone after the changes. If the fanbase drops then the gain from other investments means nothing.
  9. One thing I seem to be missing in all this is the proposed format. They are talking about having two ten team SPL leagues. Thats twenty teams sharing the pot of gold that the SPL rake in so how does it make more money for the top teams? Secondly dont they also need agreement from the SFL to go this route?

Maybe they didn't have time to have one made.
  11. IHE is not in pic 47. Pic 28 has him standing left of the steps wearing a black outfit with bits of red as a reminder that he's really a jaggie at heart.
  12. Methinks that Bob secretly wants to be a Sneck fan. That was the team when Saints played Caley at Telford St. and Caley earned a replay. My dad took me to the first game. It's funny because just a year ago I was seeing an Inverness lass and her dad ran me in the car to Telford St. to show me what it was now. A LIDL I think? Yep, but its a big LIDL A big one! You had to throw that one in there! You've given me a giggle. I'll give you that! Fair play to you. For the record, I was in no way slagging anybody for selling to LIDL. I just wasn't sure if it was one or not. Its actually a retail park.

  15. Then lose on penalties??? Think I'd rather see the business done on saturday
  16. I cant believe so many want to go with a weakened team for this one. We were once lower league giant killers defeating weakened Premier League teams. Elgin will be up for this game. They are doing well at the moment and should not be taken lightly. Its important we get a good cup run so we should be going with the team that plays regularly and with as few changes as possible.
  17. Are any of our squad out of contract this month. I've a feeling Golly and Roy were on 6 mth deals. We are never going to be in a position to maintain a larger squad than the 24 we have so some will go I think. I'd prefer not to see our youngsters go out on loan. I think we also need to make sure we keep our best players. That leaves the ones who haven't broke through to first team. Innes, Gillet, Sanchez, haven't featured much. Blumenstien and Odhiambo aren't showing any true form on a regular basis. From what I've seen of McCann I think we could do better. All the aforementioned have also been hampered by injury and may well improve further. Who knows. Whatever happens we need to bring a balance to the squad. One where we're not dependant on one persons skill and mood to keep us picking up points.
  18. I think its always been the case that players would have to leave to make way for new faces. Even if on loan wages still need to be met. I would see Golly and McBain moving out and possibly Innes. The priority has to be a good attacking midfielder and a right back.
  19. We need a decent cup run so we need to win this one. I'd be puting out the strongest available team. Elgin will be up for this one and could well be the headline makers.
  20. For the record in this calendar year, and including league and Scottish cup games, we have played 42, won 24 and drawn 8.
  21. Just for info are you aware that a local plant hire contractor, who happens to be a Rangers fan, offered St J a couple of JCB's to clear the carpark before the Rangers game, free of charge, and was turned down. Today I notice BEAR clearing the slip road entrance. Would have thought they dont come cheap.
  22. And how do you do that then? That's like putting icing on your caked before it's been baked! Sorry Rene but I must disagree. We have won and we know how to win. Eventually we will win again.
  23. Everything of this statement I agree with. This is sensible posting. Praise from a tractorman.....whatever next By the way I live a few hundred yards from McDairmid You maybe live a hundred yards from it but you can't spell the place correctly! Sorry bout that. Spelling is not my strongest point but now that i've looked into it properly I realise its MACDERMIDDEN. Incidently I'm not the Alex MacLeod you know and I live in Letham (The posh part)
  24. Maybe they just need to work on winning. They can win. They have won. And they will win again.
  25. Not sure if there's room in the carpark for his tractor though
