  1. Sounds, from this report, that we were really unlucky not to take something from the game. Shame but all good things do tend to come to an end. ICT Official site report
  2. And what a chance for Mike to shine next week. Debut start against tic at Parkhead.
  3. I think they'd discover 3-4-3 cos they would see the object of the game as scoring goals so would have an attacking formation.
  4. Quite simple really, Petrov came up against the formidable ICT defence, couldn't find a way past and said, "F*** this, I'm offsky".
  5. How about we get twenty foot hoarding erected full length of the pitch and bring in an artist to paint a stand full of fans. :003:
  6. Oops, sorry!!!! There was supposed to be a 'q' before the word final. Must have missed the key or summit
  7. I also wish them well. And diddy cup it is not. Remember we also held it and believed in it back then. And besides, just imagine, those players, if they are successful, will pick up that glorious trophy and kiss the name 'Inverness Caledonian Thistle'. :003:
  8. I think the Hibs boys will have burnt themselves out on wed night. The other thing is that Hibs, though they are running rings around other teams as far as possession goes, are sh!te finishers. Also, I dont think we should look too much into the cup game. It was a cup game, a local derby with bitter rivalry, and against a team who turn up for training each day not knowing who'll be taking the session.
  9. Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't Rory feature and score in reserve and U19 games. I would have thought the standard in those games to be just as good as Div2. And he has come of the bench in a few first team games this season.
  10. I doubt very much that Michael would leave if Broonie extends his deal. Mike is young but has a very sensible head on his shoulders and knows that he still has a lot to learn. Very few keepers come of age before they reach 25 or 26 so chances are if he goes to any other SPL team he would still be second string keeper. The lad is probably on a good deal at ICT and moving to a lower division would likely mean a cut in wages. His chance will come and he knows it.
  11. I think the U21 rule is a good one because it forces clubs to bring on youngsters and, who knows, maybe one day an Anthony Stokes type 18 year old will appear at ICT. As for who to loan out, niether Morgan, Caff or Golly have featured much this season so perhaps one of them and of the youngsters theres Soane Kerr and Jonathon Smith who may all benifit from regular first team footie.
  12. Sadly Spartans were narrowly beaten 1-0 by Annan in the final of the South Qualifying cup
  13. Ross, not 100% sure but I dont think we are allowed to send anyone out for one / two months. Deal must be for period between window's. Would Peterhead be in a position to play the wages or would we be footing that bill if anyone does go on loan. I agree with CC's backscratch comments. We can help out Peterhead but they must develop youngsters within there system that could provide teen players of the future for all the north clubs. They must also be seen to be developing and nurturing our youngsters if they are sent along the road. A fairly good arrangement could be agreed whereby Peterhead take players from us who may perhaps be recovering from injury and give them a half season of first team football. I think of someone like Caff or Gollie who would have been better to have been playing regularly but weren't quite up to SPL levels.
  14. I always thought the 'B' squad was a way of assessing untried players so why the likes of Boyd and Maloney. Haven't they already featured in national squad. I think Black should be there for another try out.
  15. Some good, positive, comments from yer man IHE. I've said before, on a few occassions, that we need a defender who can play the ball. Our defenders do panic when on the ball and hoof it anywhere. Watch all the good footballing teams and see how they play out of defence. Another thing we need to get away from is Brown punting the ball up the park from the edge of the area. An accurate throw out to midfield would be more fruitful. Notice how quick the Aberdeen keeper got rid of the ball when he caught it. It was rooled up the park and controlled. We must keep it low in attack and play less deep. As for subbing Dargo, I feel that maybe CC was hoping that Wyness and Bayne would have a better chance of taking the ball into the corners and holding it there to kill time. Dargo is good but is not the best at holding, especially against big guy's like Anderson.
  16. Maybe even Mike Smith
  17. I think it likely that, after what happened at Aberdeen, Dunc's feels the partnership would not work again. Besides, he's enjoying where he is. I, for one, wish Pele all the best and am pleased to see him back involved in Scottish League football.
  18. Aberdonians are big in oil :003:
  19. Barry is the only one I ever notice encouraging and motivating the others.
  20. One problem we have is that our defenders, though good at stopping the opposition, panic when they get the ball and are not able to play out of defence so they take the other option and punt. We hqave midfielders that can link with each other and with strikers but we dont have defenders who have the confidence to link up and play the ball out of trouble.
  21. Saturday 3pm is the tradition but I'd prefer friday to monday. NJ you'll need to change a couple of words in your signature. Remove 'BUT the' and replace with Caley. Otherwise you may cause upset against the other half of the support :015: Like the words though :021:
  22. I think this is our time to beat Aberdeen. Hearts is a possibility as the rot is setting in with them. Hibs a point. Celtic I think will win. So I'm going for seven from twelve.
  23. I'd go: Brown Dods Caff Munro Tokely Wilson Hart Rankin Hastings Bayne Dargo Tokely and Hastings well capable of dropping back if needed but also in a position to get into the corners. Watching the game last night I thought Hibs best chances came when they used the full width of the pitch.
  24. Yes and as Celtic have won all three of their games its likely to be the ginger minger who gets it. And I would guess at Miller for PoM
  25. Perhaps Barry should be handed the captaincy. I believe he'd have more control on the field than Dods has.
