  1. Was that 70% of Scots or 70% of those polled? Was it only Scots who were polled?
  2. So whats this - the Nat's answer to Project Fear? A tad hipocrytical wouldnt you say. Absolutely nothing to do with Nats. It's a well published fact that UKIP is made up of Tory defectors and that both parties are in talks about coalition after 2015 elections. It is also a well published fact that between them they support the privatisation of NHS. The abolition of Scottish and Welsh parliaments. The slashing of government support to the needy. Not to forget the forced abortion of foetus that, if born "could render the child a burden on the state". These are some of the facts. This is the sort of information suddenly coming our as a result of the rise of UKIP. It doesn't come from Nationalist views but from the mainstream press. Looking at the EU election results I fear that many countries are swinging too far to the right and that that union is going to come crashing down.
  3. And some more reported quotes from UKIP “How we can possibly be giving £1bn a month to Bongo Bongo Land is completely beyond me.” – Godfrey Bloom (UKIP) “The evidence is quite clear that the percentage of homosexuals who molest children is very high and cannot be dismissed.” – Jan Zolyniak (UKIP) “Compulsory abortion when the foetus is detected as having Down’s, spina bifida or similar syndrome which, if it is born, could render the child a burden on the state as well as on the family” – Geoffrey Clark (UKIP) If referendum returns a decision that we stay UK then come 2015 elections a coalition government will be formed between Tories and UKIP. All that that holds does not bear thinking about.
  4. A quote, reportedly, from David Coburn. Scotlands newest MEP. “You left-wing scum are all the same, wanting to hand our birthright to Romanian gypsies who beat their wives and children into begging and stealing money they can gamble with, Muslim nutters who want to kill us and put us under medieval Sharia law, the same Africans who sold their Afro-Caribbean brothers into a slavery that Britain was first to abolish (but you still want to apologize for!)” Incidently he doesn't even live in Scotland and hasn't done for 27 years. To those who want to stay in the Union is this the sorts of politicians you want in Westminster? Is our future a multi cultural all embracing Scotland or is it a right wing racist Britian?
  5. From what I seen of the fourteen players fielded for Hibs yesterday I would think those we released at season end would put on a better display
  6. Haven't got a clue about those hearsays you publish but I do know this. Butcher has gone. He is no longer an ICT manager sowhatever happened, or didn't happen, prior to his departure has absolutely no bearing on our future so would it not be better to look to the future and leave the past in the past?
  7. On 29th May 2009 I sat at TCS and witnessed Butchers team get relegated. On 25th May 2014 I sat at ER and witnessed Butchers team get relegated. I was there yesterday as a guest of a Hibs fan and watched, what was like, a team of schoolboys on their first ever coaching trip. There was no skill, no desire and certainly no fight to hold onto the two goal advantage. Indeed they were more like a group of people who knew this was their last day at work and so chose not to perform.
  8. Must admit that poll is an embarassment. 1064 random people and they all support Rangers or a current Premiership team. 2 people support RossCounty, one says NO the other undecided so the Record reports this as a County NO. Even the Rangers vote of 63 YES 57 NO and 19 Undecided does not say YES majority. With such high percentages of Undecided, and the figures so close among the rest then it can't be reported that one side is winning over the other. Personally I'd take any internet poll with a pinch of the proverbial.
  9. Is this the UK we can expect to face if referendum fails. http://wingsoverscotland.com/stay-with-us-scotland/
  10. Very surprised the majority of Rangers fans are in YES camp. I work with a few and have friends/relatives who support Rangers and they are all for the Union. Also surprising St Johnstone fans would be in NO considering Perth has been a very strong SNP supporting city for a few years now. Who did they ask anyway? Cos it sure as hell wasn't me.
  11. I'm quite sure i'm in school the day after the clach game Highland schools finish 3rd July Perth is 26th June Aberdeenshire is 7th July
  12. Have just downloaded Firefox and solved the problem.
  13. Does this mean the teams are back in training just when the schools break up?
  14. Clarify something Scarlet. You are referring to a private pension provided by RBS and not a state pension provided by treasury I presume.
  15. There are many figures bandied about for prices and yes there are cheap tickets to be had on the continent. Borussia Dortmund, in 2012, had a cheap ticket of just over £12 and their most expensive was over £40. My question is how many of those cheap seats do they sell in relation to the dear ones? There are many other things to consider as well. How much TV revenues do the German and Dutch teams get? I'll bet its a damn sight more than the pittance accepted in Scotland. What about the costs of policing games? The cost of referee's etc. The costs for insurance. Are they cheaper than in Scotland? I don't think there are any teams in Scotland making profit for their shareholders so all revenue is used up in the cost of the game. If we want our teams to be successful then we have to accept the cost that the clubs deem to be the best they can afford to offer. If we don't accept it then do we walk away? Or should we start hitting the broadcasters in the pocket? Trouble is the people who run our game are cowards when it comes to facing up to Sky and BT. Christ! We even paid them back money because Rangers dropped out of SPL. Would the same have happened if Killie or Inverness dropped out? No! Would such a situation arise in EPL? I think not. They would never have agreed to a deal that revolved solely around two of their teams. Scottish football messed up big time in allowing the breakaway Premier League and now the only way teams can survive is to hit the fans in the pocket.
  16. He's earning as much in interest on his pay off as we spend in a season
  17. For some reason, although I can type a post I cant 'quote' and I cant copy and paste. Its a new laptop running Windows7 and using Explorer 8. Any suggestions as to problem?
  18. Malky McKay a candidate
  19. One thing for certain there'll still be a team beginning with H in the top league.
  20. Hope that's not your wifes leg
  21. I don't think we equate to any other club. We are unique. We are forever the Pride of the Highlands and no others can match us.
  22. Chill CD!! Its silly season. That time of no football when people write a load of cr@p. Thankfully, being a World Cup year, silly season is shorter this year.
  23. They also had more home games against Celtic and Aberdeen to boost the average.
  24. Even more impressive that it was the Championship and not Div 1 AJS
  25. And the third 'Saint' to win the trophy.
