  1. That was an incredible away day. The first two goals were suicidal defending and I would put the third down to shell shock from the horror show. Given it was so early in the game I feared a mauling but we steadied the ship and after our first goal I sensed we could peg them back to some extent. Great performances all over the park; Raven, Foran, Andy Shinnie and obviously Billy's hat trick performance was top drawer. The Arabs gave us a nice chorus of "are you Dundee in disguise?" when number three hit the back of the net which was returned with gusto when number four was scored. Richie was going absolutely nuts over the pen which looked dubious to me. Lucky he never saw red and he was still screaming his head off at the final whistle. Hard to believe we were actually pretty deflated at the end of what should have been one of the all-time greatest wins. Never a dull moment. Bring on the Dees.
  2. I honestly despair at the comments of the “voices of reason” on here. You guys must have been an absolute barrel of laughs in your youth. The smoke bomb (not a flare) was completely harmless and added a bit of colour to proceedings at Dingwall. I can assure you we got up to a lot worse back in the good old/bad old days of the eighties and early nineties If you’ve ever watched football on the continent you will no doubt have been impressed by the pyrotechnics and general mayhem that goes on inside the stadiums. Regardless of what clubs and the authorities say it’s instrumental in making football the great spectacle it is. The Northern Constabulary are using a totally harmless incident to justify over zealous policing of home fans who are probably the most meek and mild support in Scottish football. Let’s face it they collectively sh!t their pants when the old firm are in town and let them run riot inside and outside the stadium. The young lads in Section E are quite simply an easy target for them in comparison. So endeth the rant.... Old Heads Contre le Foot Moderne.
  3. One that will always stick in my mind was an away game at Cowdenbeath during our 1996/97 3rd Division Championship winning season. We went one up early doors, Cowdenbeath came back at us and we we’re trailing 3-1 with 17 minutes to go. Herchie pulls one back with 14 minutes to go and then we huff and puff and throw the kitchen sink at them until in the 89th minute we win a penalty. Brian Thomson steps up to convert at which point the travelling support are going nuts thinking we’ve fluked a point. Not to be outdone wee Stewarty pops up in injury time to seal an improbable away win. Absolute mayhem ensues and the Cowden fans are doing their nuts at us. An absolutely fantastic day out watching a legendary ICT side in their pomp. Anyone else on here at this one? 19th October 1996 Cowdenbeath (3) vs. ICT (4) Attendance : 330 Cowdenbeath goals: Petrie (17) Winter (49) McMahon (73) ICT goals: Brian Thomson (4) Alan Hercher (76) Brian Thomson (pen) (89) Iain Stewart (90) Starting line-up: Jim Calder Mike Noble Richard Hastings Iain MacArthur Charlie Christie Davie Ross Mike Teasdale Paul Cherry Marco de Barros Iain Stewart Brian Thomson
  4. Adams really is a graceless, greeting faced *****. We murdered them in the first half - better football from better footballers. To be fair they came at us in the second half but his comments regarding their utter domination are frankly laughable. Biggest laugh of the day was the sight of those Caley/County "friendship" scarves - please tell me the half-wits responsible went home with the lot. Thumbs up for the smoke bombs.
  5. Ross is an ICT legend and I personally find it very disappointing that people chose to boo him at the earlier league game. The offer from the club was quite frankly insulting and gave him no option but to seek pastures new. I would hope that he will br treated with a bit of respect tomorrow, same goes for Granty. There are plenty of other guys on the park and dug-out more worthy of abuse.
  6. With respect, "Forever in Our Shadow" has been used as a put down by countless other clubs over the years. I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiments but it's not particularly original. It would be more amusing to plant said banner in the jailend and jupe the redneck farmhands into unfurling it themselves. I recall some wags at Man United did something similar at Liverpool a few years back. Something along these lines perhaps: "Banjo for Sale - Seldom Plucked (Contact RCFC for details)" "Let's Kick Ross-ism out of Football"
  7. Highland's No.1 Since 1886
  8. Three lucky goals, papal conspiracy, ref's a jungle jim.......delete as applicable. Lovin' it.
  9. Typical OF response - Offended by everything, ashamed of nothing. Given the bile posted on every Sevco messgaeboard I've ever viewed I would suggest you need to have a look closer to home before accusing others of bigotry.
  10. Didn't see him at Fir Park so can't comment. Two reds not particularly clever but screaming for his head seems somewhat excessive. Seems like an honest pro to me. The lad hasn't exactly set the heather alight but I think in the cold light of day you might agree that your original post was a tad knee-jerk. Not looking to get into a spat over this but let's put things in perspective folks.
  11. Yes, histrionics. He's not even a dirty player. iBM hits nail squarely on head. Some of us need to put things in perspective. Our disciplinary record is not good this season but do you honestly think OTJs two reds justify the bullet ? Have a cup of sugary tea and a lie down. it'll all seem better in the morning.
  12. TSNY - are you for real ? Absolutely ridiculous thread. Please spare us the histrionics.
  13. Embarrassing scoreline. Shipping goals at an alarming rate and a full two weeks before we can address the problem. Woe is me.....
  14. Kirk Broadfoot seen exiting blacked out Megabus in Farraline Park. Whisked away in Global Energy liveried stretch hummer in Easter Ross direction.
  15. Blackman holding press conference in Tarry Ile.......live on SSN at 21h00.
  16. Andre Blackman on loan until January according to SSN.
  17. Decent performance last night with Andy Shinnie standing out. We should have come away with a more convincing scoreline but fair play to Bullock who saved the Lichties from a potential drubbing. He definitely takes the stick well given the questionable subject matter of the abuse he gets. Gayfield has got to be one of my favourite away grounds - you just can't beat switching ends at half-time. Also, fair play to wifie on turnstyle letting myself and three young boys in for £20. Funny how clubs who need the money most are the one least likely to fleece you. Hampden here we come.....
  18. Reading his tweets you'd think he'd been sent to the Soviet Gulags. He should have joined us at Gayfield last night for the full on culture shock. Anyway best of luck to the Young Gooners.

    SPL strikers

You're absolutely right. If County sign Riordan then they will have a bigger c@ck in their squad than us.....
  20. Nice one. Also one of my favourite away days and just down the road from us. Yngwie, could be a high police presence for this one after the Young Stoney Ultras' last trip to darkest Angus I think I might leave the miscreant at home this time and join the last of the summer wine mob in the pub. ymip jr might need to drive..... I would encourage as many as possible to make the trip - a proper football day out.
  21. Just back from the game. I was trying to update from match but was having problems logging on. What can I say........pretty dire stuff from start to finish. Brechin opened brightly and created a good few chances. The first half was heading for stalemate when the ball broke to G. Shinnie in the box and he lashed it home. We went in one up but I would say that was very fortunate. Second half was equally unmemorable. Brechin pulled one back and then got the winner late on. I'm struggling to think of anything else worthy of comment - it was that bad. I went along quite enthusiastic after reports of our Coventry performance but saw very little to suggest we are ready for a long hard SPL season. I would suggest Terry was far from impressed with our performance either. Worryingly Cooper limped off just before half-time which is a worry giving the dearth of fit defenders at our disposal. Starting line-up; Esson, Cooper, Meekings, Foran, G. Shinnie, Sutherland, Draper, Jones, Dorran, A. Shinnie, McKay Subs used: Laing, Pepper, Polworth, Oswell, Morrison, Ross Many thanks to the Steward who confiscated a bottle of water from my 3 year old daughter. He'd obviously clocked her as a potential troublemaker. Mind boggling jobs worth who'd previously mucked us about in the car park. I trust he'll be as brave with he NewCo hordes on Sunday.
  22. Yngwie - KO is down as 7.30 on ictfc.co.uk
  23. Poor old Buenos Hornell must be feeling it bad at the moment. Not only does he have the post-merger anguish to deal with but his beloved teddy bears are no more and the queen shook hands with Martin McGuiness. All we need now is for him to start following the staggies and they'll be back in the Highland League before you know it.....
  24. For the first time ever myself and the full compliment of Young Stoney Ultras will be in attendance tonight; ymip jr, miss ymip and ymipette. Almost a home match for us and due to mrs ymip having a prior engagement I've resorted to bribing the youngest into attending with the promise of sweeties and juice. There could well be a repeat performance of ymip jr’s infamous projectile puking at Harlaw Park, Inverurie. An incident still talked about fondly on our travels. I wonder if the Chelsea Hedgehunters have ever been to Brechin.......
