  1. What is this - Hooligans Reunited? Youve about as much chance of reforming the "Caley Animals" as you have of reforming the Beatles. Almost all the guys I would consider to be original Caley Animals (in their fifties and sixties nowadays) are died in the wool refuseniks. "Plus it bugs me with all the "posers" and anti - merger fans - who associate themselves with a quite exclusive group". Care to elaborate? Who are these "posers" you're referring to? Rest assured the polis are going to love this thread - guaranteed post-new year overtime on Jaunary 8th.... No alla violenza!

    Scottish Cup

The significance of this draw will be lost on a lot of the post-merger fans but pre-merger Elgin vs. Caley was THE HIghland League rivalry. Forget the modern day County tussles this was the real deal. Would expect a healthy dose of fairmers to turn out for this game for old times' sake. Just a pity it's not at BB - now taht would have been an old school day out. Could do with giving them a right horsing and hope that we don't play a weakened side for this one.
  3. Dougal is quite clearly a refusenik on the wind up.
  4. In the name of sweet jeezus someone please delete this ridiculous thread. This subject was boring ten years ago and is utterly irrelevant today. How exactly will a change of name attract either gloryhunting old farm feckwits or refuseniks. Next......
  5. I hope that Dundee can somehow escape extinction but it certainly looks bleak for them. Scotland can ill afford to lose a proper club with a decent fanbase. Unfortunately, I fear this could be the first of many to disappear off the footballing map of Scotland.
  6. At the end of the day it's all about the league but it's ridiculous playing a weakened side at Parkhead. Not great for morale amongst the players or the fans.
  7. Woeful at the back again. Cricket score on the cards. Very strange line-up tonight from TB.
  8. I wouldn't wish a club's demise on any fans, well obviously the old firm but that kind of goes without saying The problem with Dundee is that they never, ever seem to learn. It's just one dodgy regime after another in the hot seat at Dens. Angus Cook, Ron Dixon, Giovanni di Stefano, The Marr Brothers, and now Melville have all lead the Dees fans down the garden path and promoted reckless spending in the pursuit of abject mediocrity. I honestly hope DFC survive this latest debacle but fear this could push them ever nearer the edge. What odds a merger or at the very least a shared stadium in Dundee?
  9. Scoreline flatters Hearts but but we have major poblems at the back at this level. Our home record is just not good enough.
  10. Proctor is murder at right back. Same last week at easter Road. Would love to see Richie come on and pull the strings.

    Ian Black

Massive respect due to Blackie. Anyone who boos the lad is a muppet. Hope he sees the error of his ways one day and comes "home".
  12. The stewarding and policing today was an utter joke. I'm sure there was 7 or 8 separate ejections, the first after no more than 5 minutes. A few folk tend to play up for effect but the reaction from the forces of order today was way over the top. We're paying £22 each to be entertained and these jumped up muppets behave like we're some sort of sub-species to be spoken to like schoolchidren. If they tried this on with the old firm there would have been a riot, of that there can be no doubt. It's time the club addressed this issue with the likes of Hibs and United. At the end of the day can the SPL afford to repeatedly treat their ever shrinking customer base in this manner?

    Hibs Away

Young Spewey will be in attendance. Ymipette is hedging her bets thus far. We're letting the train take the strain tomorrow. Must look out a suitable sickbag.

The Young Stoney Ultras are plotting up in a Uruguayan winebar on Broughton Street. Embra's miles poncier
  15. I can't find the post but I suggested months ago that the latest Dundee FC saviour was a wrongun.....the rumours circulating in Aberdeen have come to fruition it would appear. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-north-east-orkney-shetland-11206289
  16. Good effort from The Wanderer and Mrs Wanderer - Congratulations! Sounds like the motorised bath is gonna need some nipper friendly modifications.
  17. Myself and the Young Stoney Ultras (x2) will be joining the ICT massive. Would be good to see a big away support out on the 11th.
  18. An Elgin supporting mate of mine tells me Ian Black got dogs abuse off the City travelling support at Tynecastle tonight when subbed. It seems that his ICT connections didn't go down well with the black and white masses (sic). I find it quaint that this lot still consider us rivals. Having said that I would LOVE to draw them in a meaningful cup tie at Borough Briggs. Would be a massive old school day out for sure. I guess the youngsters will find this odd but Caley-Elgin was THE game of the season back in the day. Not sure if the Jags - Elgin rivalry was as intense but the farmers hated us with a passion. One day......
  19. "Keys for Fair Play Stand" Keyrings clearly a step too far for Dundonians to get their heads around. I would suggest it was also a recycled takeway carton rather than a tupperware receptacle. DUFC, classy ken...Stephen's off to farmfoods tonight to stock up on supplies for Athens. Tannadice stewards are a shower of jumped up sh1thouses who'll be locking themselves in the Josef Fritzl Executive Dungeon under the Fair Play when the old firm are next in town.
  20. I don't want to spoil the game but the content of the tupperware box was clearly marked on said box in black marker pen. I'll fill y'all in later. I'm sure you can hardly contain yourselves.
  21. "What a waste of pension cash, we paid for your bath....."
  22. I think I've read every report on the interweb this morning and have to say Alternative Maryhill's report surpassed them all by a distance. Gold star and keep up the good work.
  23. I was half expecting the Lothian Saga Crew to sail past The Young Stoney Ultras on Cleppington Road in a motorised bath for the full LOTSW effect.
  24. I can only echo the comments above. Today's result that is right up there with our very best in the SPL. The second goal knocked the stuffing out of United and from there on in it was a stroll in the Tayside sunshine. The scoreline was totally justified and I would suspect most United fans would agree that we were well worth a cricket score today. We were sharper, fitter, more agressive and looked a right good side for much of the game. United were admittedly dire but they were, by a distance, third club in the country lasts season so today's result was beyond my wildest dreams. Hats off to Terry & Mo and al the lads for today's performance - outstanding.
  25. The Antwerp fans were class. They hit the nail squarely on the head when they sang, in perfect English, "Your support is f***ing sh*t". Friendly or not the crowd and level of encouragement was utterly abysmal. Full marks to the club for arranging two decent friendlies this week but the apathy today saddens me - excellent weather, European opposition and a tenner in - what more do folk want? I would love a return game in Antwerp next summer but I doubt they'd be particularly receptive given the pitiful support we mustered today. The game itself was ok with Nick Ross and Kenny Gillet the stand outs for me. Gillet could be turn out to be another very good signing.
