Our Highland Marchers are preparing for their wee jaunt from Inverness to Mordor but it seems they've lost their maps and compass and are taking the (very) long route.

Good luck to them all!

Hi Matchers,

Glad all going well and Ardmann Shell Shock has been reached. Hope you get plenty of ding dong in Dingwall and don't forget the medicine to be taken with chocolate at every opportunity. You know it makes sense and to quote our mates in Tesco, 'every little helps'!

Best wishes and what a great win for Chelsea last night. I had a few glasses of vino, but couldn't see our plasterer in the crowd in Amsterdam.

TTFN.

Thanks guys.

Don‘t worry Archduke, we‘ve taken your nasty medicine advice very seriously ;)

Currently having lunch at Achnasheen. Only 29 miles to Dingwall! Will do another 6 today, 18 tomorrow to Strathpeffer and then a short 5 miler on Sunday morning.

At Achanalt now. Going to stop for the day. 23 miles from Dingwall. Nearly there!

Jaisus what mingin weather today. Was out for an hour and came back freezing.

Hope you guys are managing to keep the important bits dry :amazed:

A dram by the fire in Strathpeffer may be in order?

Go to the Red Pepper...it might be a good omen for tomorrow...a red-hot Pepper off the bench could swing it for us!

All troops about to have their brekkie before the final assault.

We should be in Dingwall for 1130-12ish

What a great week we have all had. To quote Field Marshal General Yompa, 'magnificent'

See you at the game people

are you's doing a lap of honor at the GES

Aye.

In Dingwall now! :)

Time for a song ;)

Well done to the Highland Marchers you are the real winners of the day.

Thank you!

Thanks for the great reception we got on the pitch pre match as well. Was absolutely buzzing!

Well deserved Mark, fair play to you guys, to say nothing for suffering the Jailend.  :clapoverhead:  :notworthy:  :ictscarf:

Well done guys, I raised a glass to you on Saturday when the rain was fair slattin doon.

  • 2 weeks later...

Was an absolute privilege to take the trip with mr and mrs gringo to kyle of localsh on the train to see you guys, thoroughly inspiring. Thanks to yompa for taking me over the skye bridge too.

Was there not talk of John Robertson taking part in the Highland March one year?

Robbo was in fact going to join us this year, but unfortunately some work and other commitments prevented him from being able to commit to the event.

What a week he missed though. One of the best events to date (despite the results of both games)...

There have been a few minor updates to the Highland March Website and there'll be photo galleries from HM10 and HM11 to be uploaded in due course.

There is also the HM Twitter and Facebook accounts should people wish to follow. (We tend to update these more often than the actual website)
