January transfer thread

Hey peeps, it's your most favourite CTO poster 😛

As it's only a week and a half until the transfer window opens, I thought I'd start a thread where we can "discuss" any transfer related news, be it rumours (where is IHE lol) or articles in the newspapers with quotes from JR on transfer news.

Imho, we probably don't need much and, Tbh, I don't see much business and that goes for all clubs, not just us.

I think it's imperative that we extend Kai Kennedy loan, otherwise we may be on the look out for another winger.

Did you mean to quote yourself?  I have a bit of cartoon play going on in my head of you playing two characters nodding furiously in agreement.

Im no subject expert or sports scientist but I do wonder about some of our signings in recent history.

McNaughton, Toshney, Anthony MacDonald (will he even play this season?), other young injured guy from Hearts a couple of years ago who never even played a game (sorry, can't remember his name) McHattie, to name a few have admittedly been on limited wages, but getting paid nonetheless for no gain for the club.

One or two might be understandable and just unlucky, but it seems we are signing / gambling on players who are too high risk and it appears nobody else wants.

Not a criticism, but an observation that is plain to see.

Rather bring on youngsters than bring in crocks.

Looks like we will have to as Doran is injured as well with a suspected torn thigh and Macdonald has a twisted knee. Both players picked up the injuries during indoor training on Friday in Dingwall.

Following Caley is like following Palace, sometimes the similarities are too much [though not the money] Palace have 10 players out injured, one (Wickham) has played just 50 games in 5 years, ...most of our CB's are crocks [Tomkins has barely played in two seasons, he came back for 5 games, injures his eye socket in training, Sakho was injured when he signed 4 years ago and has barely played in the last two seasons, seemingly gets fit and then tweaks a thigh muscle that sees him out for months as he flies off to Dubai) We signed a rookie right back who had already been injured for 5months when we signed him and has barely been able to train since [mind you we once signed a RB who broke his leg on his first day and never played for us in 3 years], we actually signed a winger who HAD a broken leg....how do these guys pass their medicals I often ask.

And the difference at Palace is some of these guys are on between £60k and £110k a week!

I think the loan market is still open until the end of February.

Will we see a short term winger if Doran and MacDonald are out for a wee while?

We now don't have a fit 'proper' winger/wideman in our squad.
