Scottish Cup 3rd Rnd Draw

Featured Replies

One of the few Lowland League sides I’ve not visited. Excellent news 👏

I suspect The Mantis can fill us in on the ground.

Wikipedia says ground capacity is 2,500, with 44 seated! Fron Google Maps, that looks to be accurate.

Can't be bothered looking up the competition rules just now, but are there no requirements for a decent number of seats?

They played at home in the previous round so I would guess not.

Basically a home game for me so I'm delighted with the draw. Can't wait for it to be moved to Monday or Friday night for TV meaning I won't be able to go 🫠

Brilliant draw as long as long as it's not picked for TV. Fairly local for me and even better for RiG and Moff from the podcast.
A good traditional non-league ground with a grass pitch, in a traditional mining town which spawned Ian Black.
Down a wee lane off the main street opposite Aldi where there is parking for 3 hours.

Shame it wasn't Bonnyrigg or Whitehill as I'll have to drive, but the pubs in Tranent are pretty rubbish anyway. Plenty decent ones in Musselburgh including Staggs, one of the best in the East of Scotland, and not far via taxi.

Seen them already this season where they got steamrollered by Clydebank although they only had 10 men for over an hour. They normally play a pretty high tempo attacking game with a high press, but obviously it'll be a bit more attritional against us. The manager is Robbie Horn, ex-Bonnyrigg, so there has been a fair exchange of players between the clubs. The most notable player is probably right back Dean Brett, who was involved in a betting scandal whilst at Cowdenbeath which is why he plays at such a low level in the pyramid.

Does anyone know if our club has the resources to have Tranent watched before we play them?

I'll head along on 04/11. They play a home tie against Civil Service Strollers that night*.

*Disclaimer I probably won't be able to go.

Any idea about what's happening for tickets with this one?

According to Tranent it will be all ticket with adults tickets £15, concessions £10 and U15s £5.

Their tweet yesterday which ICT have retweeted half an hour or so ago says "tickets will be available to purchase soon - stay tuned for on-sale details".

Any idea as to when we'll find out if we're on TV or if it will be a normal 1500hrs KO :)?

We are allocated 400 tickets.

That’s a fair amount, I’m looking forward to this one, a proper Scottish Cup tie which we’ve not had in a while.
