Marshall and Smith before Brown - ridiculous

The fact that David Marshall is in it shows exactly how by playing, or not in his case, for one of the Old Firm seems to automatically earn you the right to a call up to the National squad.

It's stupid. Marshall is cack and shouldnt be near that squad he is only there becuase he plays for celtic and the "night" in Barcelona.

how can marshall be in the squad hes played about 5 or 6 games this season conceding a goal in every game and most of them his fault . When brown has 10 clean sheets this season and who is alaxander the other goalkepper. I thought dargo might have been included bit of a shock there. :evil: :evil:

Obviously they don't rate Brown at all. I mean Smith from Motherwell!!

Dargo was always more of a longshot.

Why is Ian Murray in the squad though??

Smith is a decent keeper I think. Alexander is the goalie from Cardiff that came from Livi. Brown is, in my own biased opinion, easily as good as those two if not better.

To be fair, Mark Brown didn't exactly do himself any favours the night he playerd for the Future squad..

He was pretty rank that night !

Absolute b*ll*cks Jailender. It was the second rate defence in front of him (Virgo and Berra) that let him down, plus a wicked deflection. It wouldn't have happended if Munro and Dods had been playing. Plus Mark hasn't missed an SPL game all season and hasn't given cause to be dropped. Whereas Marshall was dropped after one game.

As for some of the rest of the squad, what a fecking disgrace. As well as Marshall, Ian Murray and Steven Caldwell can't get a game for their clubs and Gary Naysmith has just recently returned from long term injury. The anti-Highland bias at SFA HQ hasn't really gone away. It just goes to show that the Futures game up here was just a patronising gesture and the picking of our players and a token C***ty one were only designed to get folk to turn up. Otherwise the crowd would have been nearer 500 than 5000. Walter Smith can just stew in his own juice once the Euro Qualifiers go pear-shaped for his squad.

At least Brown will have pretty rankin in front of him next season. :D

I don't see a lot wrong with that squad to be honest. Yes, it would have been nice to see an ICT player in here, but we all know Dargo and Brown ain't gonna become regular Scotland players and that taking them to Japan would be a complete waste.

Smith and Marshall are both younger than Brown and have more of a future in the international set up than Brown ever had. And do me a favour with regards to Dargo, do people honestly think he's gonna replace Miller/McFadden/O'Connor/Riordan/Beattie/Maloney?

Walter is obviously taking players that have a chance of playing for us in either the next qualifying stages or at some point in the future, and there's no way Dargo or Brown will be involved.

I passed in on the train yesterday - all it'll take is a footie and Beastie will have that stupid ring thing ripped down in a jiffy!

I expect Dargo to be in the squad after the first of many call-offs are announced.
