The Long Ball

There was far less long balls today, and a good thing too.  It worked today, so please Brew, keep it that way.

Yes please do keep it that way, Far more better standard of football on show this week  :021:  :022:

Long Ball/Hoofing it does'nt work or if it does its rare, Not a Clue  :33:

the passing was excellent!!

zibi was good at accurate balls!!

Very good performance, feel a bit sorry for the gretna fans.  Great goals all round, but where was the atmosphere?

I would have thought the 'section g crazy gang' would have swarmed in with quid for a kid offer.

Still, couldn't fault the performance on the pitch, rossco and imrie were immense. :021:

There was no atmosphere in the Home end today. Credit to the 30 - 40 Gretna fans who out sang ~ 3,600 ICT fans.

And well done ICT for playing some excellent passing football. Get this long ball rubbish out the window and then we can move forward and maybe even get this top 6 spot that everyone seems to think we'll get each year.

Gretna had 56 Fans....TM4TJ, Caley100 and I all counted em  :blah01:

A lot of caley fans actually clapped the gretna goal.  The club really needs to do something about the atmosphere.

Perhaps organising something with the social club; a free drink for everyone with a ticket???

Or at least turning a blind eye to a bit of standing?

Today was the first time Ide been to a Caley game in god knows how long.. first Saturday off in a while so thought Ide fire on round, and .. well, the home fans are absolutly dire. All be it security and stuff like that's been clamped down.. but, not being able to stand shouldn't stop all the chants, singing and stuff..  poor show!

K4rlo - I noticed this too when i visited a few weeks ago.

Football is supposed to be about entertainment, about unwinding after a long week at a work role thats usually full of rules, about having a few beers with your friends and singing and chanting your head off .....

Its inevitable that you will get a few ******** who will try to spoil it or overstep the mark, but you weed them out instead of making everyone suffer. The authorities - whether they be police, politicians or clubs themselves are in danger of taking all the enjoyment out of the game and when thats gone you can forget about it .......

doesnt that sw brewster that todays midfield plays better football with black+wilson rather than duncan

Nobody likes the long ball, except rugby players.

Re the atmosphere, did you really expect anything else on a sunny Easter afternoon, the game was little more than a training excercise with Gretna fulfilling their SPL obligations before disappearing down the chute.  Not much to play for and trying out a few players, these games are now preparation for next season.  **blah blah ??? for evey position gained and all that***

The problem is that the yoof of today simply dont get pisshed enuff B4 a game.

The problem is, they all seemed geared up to giving Zibi a hard time from the off....he was jeered for his clearance which led to the opening goal  :029: and some of the lads even tried to put him off on a couple of other occasions in the first half when he was taking a goal kick.
