What to spend the pocket money on?

After bills and expenses and such like are dealt with it's surely going to be the case that we'll have a little (prob max 100-150k) to spend and a wee gap in the wage structure.

It seems obvious to most that the team in crying out for a strong reliable centre half who can header as well as read the game, preferably with a yard or two of pace.

Hopefully Rooney signs on loan as he sounds (going on brief match reports) lively and an eager goal threat. He'll want to show Stoke what he can do.

But with Niculae now away we only have:

-Barrowman, who seems to be a goal getter but untried at top level footie.

-Rory Mac who has shown promise in glimpses but it seems unclear as to whether he can be relied apon.

-Gary Wood who showed promise last season in pre season and again this pre season

We are crying out for the older head to play alongside one of these lads. Im sure there would be someone in the English lower reaches looking to prove himself. A player with Champioship/SPL or similar experience would be preferable but its the cool headed experience we really need. The type who doesnt worry to much if he misses a few and keeps plugging away. A good example.

Fair enough Brewster was the good example forward type but he can't exactly lead from the front now. especially not week in week out. (maybe in an emergency more likely)

Question is does anyone think something will be done. Particularly in defence.

Pay Marius off and put this whole sorry mess behind the club.

Why don't we buy a score board?

Because we don't need one? Watching the game is usually a good way to know the score.

Keep the money to invest in the winter window as we will know our strengths then.

Big question--how much will there be left after the dust settles.?

Secondly I don't think in today's climate of restless players ,where the moment they show a good bit of promise (e.g. rankin, dargo) they are off to pastures richer and newer, long-term contracts are a great idea. Players nowasdays simply want to make as much as they can in thier careers and loyalty does seem to take a back seat. Two years seems a good term to me in all the circumstances. :010:

Personally I would turn Ross shire into a Safari park - I have thought it through and it would be a financial development and would we backed by the Scottish parliament and environmental groups. We would just let the tinks stay in their caravans and populate the area with more wildlife. We could have Evanton Elephants, Maryburgh Monkeys, Culbokie cheetahs (there are plenty of them already), Dungwall Dingos (would be great watching them fiting the tinks in the dustbins), Alness alligators etc. etc.

The great thing is that financially we wouldnt have to worry about mating or reproduction as bestiality would provide us with a ready answer. And the area itself would be preserved as the state of current in breeding trends would not alter. And we could put a huge feckin electric fence around the feckin lot of them.
