CaleyThistleOnline has been asked by 'Bronson', one of our long time members, to post the following story/information regarding an organisation called Cafe Football and we are happy to oblige. My name is Simon Macdonald and I work for the Highland Council as a family support worker. Over the years I have helped to create a football group for teenagers with learning, physical, social and emotional difficulties who attend all the home Inverness Caledonian Thistle Football Club games. I have developed a great relationship with ICT and was recently approached about becoming involved with an organisation called "CAFE FOOTBALL" . CAFE stands for "Centre for Access to Football in Europe" and one of their vision's is to improve the footballing experience for supporters with disabilities by setting up local supporters groups and raising awareness of any issues. CAFE FOOTBALL have the support of Uefa, the SPL and the SFL and are to meet with the SFA soon. Disability Support Associations are now in place at Aberdeen, Dundee, Dundee United, Dunfermline, East Fife, Falkirk, Hearts, Kilmarnock, Livingston, Motherwell and Rangers and all these clubs have pledged their support. Although DSA's are not in place at Airdrie, Celtic, Hibs, ICT, St Johnstone and St. Mirren, positive contacts have been established and it is hoped that they will soon be on board too. I have been in touch with Keith Ferguson the UK and Eire Development Officer and we have arranged a meeting on Monday 25th October at 7pm at the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium to which any disabled supporters, family members, carers and representatives from organisations are invited. Keith will be there and will hopefully be able to gain the views of those interested and look into the possibility of creating a Disabled Supporters Association for the club. I would also appreciate it if you could forward this information to anyone you think would be interested in attending the meeting and I ask that those interested in attending send me a private message to enable me to gauge interest levels and numbers. [send PMs to username Bronson] I look forward to meeting all interested parties on the 25th, Regards Simon Macdonald1 point

I see County have been valued at ?160 for the latest Highland version of the board game Monopoly. ICT are a snip at only ?140, great value. Incredible how they have been "rewarded" for their failure to win the Scottish cup when the achievements of the most noteworthy team in the Highlands has been undervalued. Typical numptyism if you ask me. I suppose if you go there you could play your get out of jailend free card, or maybe just take a chance. Are they right to do this and meddle with superiority, it's like saying the reserves are better than the first team..............hmmmnnnn, Rangers and Celtic, or Cowdenbeath and Stirling Albion.......now that's a difficult choice.1 point

Not a very high success ratio from potential number of chased back passes though is it? It's the Scottish way though I supose to charge about like a headless chicken. In other countries when teams lose the ball they don't go charging after it, instead they regain their shape and position and by doing this they don't open up spaces for their opponents to exploit. I think there's a time and a place for chasing after a back pass but these chances are few and far between. Esson appears to be utterly fantastic at dealing with back passes.1 point

The name we have now is perfectly fine. It's 2010 nearly 2011 and if older people want a name change thats fine but it's the younger generation thats coming through now and in the near future. To me Caledonian F.C. and Thistle F.C. each have their own history but ICT are who I've grown up supporting and I'd be very surprised if anybody my age wanted a name change. I'm 24 now but looking around Inverness these days there are far more people wearing ICT tops in town and at school than when I was there. This will continue to grow it just needs patience.1 point

From the Scotsman (21/10/2010) TOP CHEFS BACK THE P.R.I.C.K.S. TO FOREWARN ICT By Ewan McMurray Top chefs Gordon Ramsay, Nigella Lawson, Delia Smith and John Kelly have voiced their support for the Pie Reputation and Integrity for the Catering of Kilmarnock Society, in the wake of concerns that the supporters of Inverness Caledonian Thistle F.C. may be planning to inflict another injurious verbal and choral assault on the manager of Kilmarnock F.C., in reference to the allegation that the previous managers' obesity may have been closely linked to the over consumption of pies available from the club catering facilities. Previous concerns were raised to the F.A.R.T.S organisation (Fat Aberdonian Reprobate Taunting Salvation) in respect of the prolonged 45 minute plus ?assault?, by factions known as the MOB and the SESH army, at the Scottish Cup Tie last season which allegedly led to the demise of the previous manager, Jimmy fat **** Calderwood. Agents for Mr Calderwood claim that he suffered Post Traumatic Stress Disorder following the psychological ?bullying? ordeal, had a nervous breakdown which ultimately resulted in his resignation. It is reported that Mr Calderbank now suffers from chronic insomnia where he has recurrent flashbacks / nightmares on the theme of kilted Highlanders dancing in a conga around his bed, whilst deriding him about his obesity. He is rumoured to be currently 6 stones in weight and resembles a bright orange, sun dried Satsuma. It is doubtful whether he will ever be able to return to football management although Ross County FC feel that he may be a ready made replacement for Craig Brewster. South Ayrshire Police and Group 4 Security have been in discussion with the CaleyAwaywithTerryandMo ?firm? who are rumoured to be an amalgamation of the two notorious factions previously known as the MOB and the SESH Army. The authorities feel that the dialogue has been fruitful and a fat, old, kilted, bald, grey haired spokesman has assured Kilmarnock FC that there will be no repetition of the incessant chanting of the ?Jimmy Says aye to a Killie Pie? taunt at this weekends? fixture. It appears that the CaleyAwaywithTerryandMo ?firm? have sought legal advice from their Finnish solicitors and have agreed to serenade the present managerial incumbent, Mixu Packalotofkilliefeckinpiesinmafatscandinaviangutlining, in a ?softer|? Finnish version of the chant. ?Mixu says JAA jotta Killie paistos? or perhaps an abridged version highlighting the Swedish word for Yes - ? Mixu says JAA to a Killie pie? will be caroused. A spokesman for the Finnish F.A, responded - ? Ajaa kaikki mik? te haluta koska me hankkia disowned ep?kuntoinen hedelm?llinen h?lm? ?1 point

IHE would say that it should be Caledonian FC and rename the North Stand to the Howden End and Johndo dreams about that as well. As many know I was an original "Animal" and probably classed as a "rebel" and I stayed away fer three seasons. But hey - the first time I came back it was just simply Inverness - and the Jeggies were always our mates with friendly banter and we all hated County and Hellgin. So maybe I am a rebel without a cause. And most of ma new mates are ex Jeggies and I would say that I was primarily responsible for chanting the O2B song and turning it away from being a Jail End taunt. INVERNESS CALEDONIAN THISTLE FC - It took a lot of feckin emotion, effort and struggle to create it and long may it remain - to me it is a constant reminder of the past and is part and parcel of our colourful history (as covered in literature by yon wee BBC **** ) I actually pride in saying that name now. As long as some dyslexic ******* doesnt rename it ITC - now that would be feckin sacriledge.-1 points

Ok i'm not an Invernessian but i consider Inverness my home being here for the last ten years or so I know this is a touchy subject to some on here but i feel its a question that needs asked Should we continue to use ICT as our clubs name or change it completely to something else? I ask because the lack of support by Inverness football fans, i think anyone who was there yesterday realises that the attendance was very dissapointing it certainly wasn't 4882 which was reported or no where near it Why are Invernessians not following there local team in numbers? A city of the size of Inverness should attract 5000+ at the very least every home game in my opinion Yes i realise there are busses that leave town on saturday mornings for Ibrox, Parkhead and Pittodrie but i'm not sure how many but i doubt that leads to that many fans? I know from personal experience whilst out drinking that i've experienced unpleasantness and contempt from pre-merger fans when it comes to ICT, ive even been verbally abused on numerous occassions by them and also Clach supporters just because of the team i chose to follow My plan is a radical one but i personally would buy out Clach and Inverness City and continue both sides in their respective leagues but use both of them for our reserves and fringe players I feel the time is right to change the name in an attempt to get the whole of Inverness behind the team so ive started a poll with some ideas(ive still included our current title for fans that don't want change) Dougal Edited to say i voted Inverness FC-1 points
