He may be our best ever, but is still being ignored in the International clique. Despite the fact that he is in great form and playing first team football regularly, a loan player and a reserve get precedence, mind you, he is probably better out of that set up. From the Beeb website:- Goalkeeper Iain Turner has pulled out of the Scotland squad for Sunday's friendly against Brazil and has been replaced by Kilmarnock's Cammy Bell. Bell recently lost his place in the Killie team to Anssi Jaakkola but will join fellow keepers Craig Gordon and Allan McGregor in the national squad. Everton's Turner is currently on loan at Preston North End.
  2. Just got to a computer now after going to that game on Saturday. Living down in Dundee and having to meet Arabs on Sunday morning was not the best experience. What has happened to the silky footie they had to endure when we were last down ? Heedless chickens. Duff well named...He was shocking! Eric ...similar. Why was he kept on for so long ? Grant Munro does not look comfortable at left back. Thought Rossco had a reasonably good game and why was he booked??. We had a perfect view of it and it was clean as the preverbial. We were lacklustre in just about everything we did especially going forward. Hoofing it up the park at any opportunity. Didnt start playing until 20 minutes from the end. Only good thing was that Johnny Hayes seemd to be fired up and starting to get back to his old ways. Hope it continues, but the rest looked like they need a shake from the management. Let us pray for better things to come.

I think what it is, is that the tiny handful of refuseniks still hold a grudge to this day, and they want to believe that their denial still matters. They desperately want to have something to show for their 17 years (!) of bitterness - like a conviction that there 'thousands' of them, that their self-imposed exile in the wilderness is a great stain on the club blah blah (never mind missing out on 17 years of thrills and spills just to prove a point) - I suppose it is a bit galling that nobody really cares about your long nurtured and carefully honed sense of grievance. They used to delight in ICT's defeats and, Cassandra-like, were prone to predicting failure which would satisfy them deeply. But that hasn't worked so we are back to crying crocodile tears and lamenting the great injustice of the Telford St Clearances, and the latest wheeze - a Mickey Mouse poll. It's all a bit Victor Meldrew , though DD is right that it has lightened up this board for a while.

Ryan is without doubt the best keeper we have ever had, no two ways about it. Broonie was also a great shot stopper, but not at penalties, a reaction keeper, but useless at crosses and communicating with his defence. Jimmy Calder was and still is a legend, part of folklore, and at that time our best keeper, but time moves on and now we have the best we can afford and that's Ryan Esson.

Lion Rampant is worse than the Union Flag given the fact that it is owned by the Monarch and only ever flown as a token of loyalty to the crown.

And being loyal to the crown is bad because? If you want a debate on that then please take it to a new thread in an appropriate forum. You should move Caley D's post as that's the post that raises loyalty to the crown.

  8. I have chosen to ignore this comment, but really feel the need to respond. First point is that this organisation is newly formed and were not at the stage of organising events last November. Secondly, it was the date that was picked first and then, realising it was so close to St Patrick's day, they added a theme. They are a very enthusiastic group of fans who are enjoying being part of a supporters group and I applaud the effort they have all put in to organising tonight. So instead of sarcasm, why not get down their and part with a fiver for a good cause.
