To be fair Donald, it was Terry, who had seen the fixtures before I did, who pointed it out to me - and indeed to several others in the media where I expect the issue will be looming large tomorrow. Just another couple of points... Capital - I don't actually think there's a specific pot of money for this televised game. It's just one of those which make up ESPN's tally and their money gets divvied out according to the rules which the SPL will inevitably have for this. I actually suspect that this game and the later one at 4:15 that Easter Monday afternoon are being shown by ESPN quite simply because they have run out of Old Firm Away Days to show. Gringo - I do think you are expecting just a little too much by also asking for a "nearby" fixture on the last day of the season. To be fair, the SPL does have a difficult enough job here without having to make allowances for end of season parties. Having said that, though, I do believe that the SPL have totally missed out on what would have been the most popular fixtures scheduling of the season. Had they fixed a full SPL card for Friday 29th April with the same kick off time as the Royal Wedding they would have given a whole lot of people a golden chance to escape from it!3 points

INVERNESS to HAMILTON May 11th to May 14th 2011 Well, there we have it folks. We thought Highland March 7 would be tough from Kilmarnock to Inverness (184 miles). We thought that Highland March 8 was tougher from Ayr to Inverness (203 miles - the first EVER Highland March to break 200 miles) It looks like this year has just become the toughest... With approximately 175 miles to cover in just 2 and a half days!!!! On a presonal note, I just want to get going now. I've been training hard since New Year having covered over 520 miles in that time, and with a planned overnight 12-hour jaunt tomorrow, i hope to be putting the finer touches into my training. BRING IT ON For the past few weeks since my last update, there has been alot of headway with regards to individual training. 4 of the Highland Marchers took part in an overnight 'fact finding' exercise at the back end of last month. With Gringo walking around Coventry, Yompa in Ayrshire, Chumba in Edinburgh and myself in Inverness, we all synchronised watches and set off into the night. Despite an early bath for Chumba (persistant foot problems), Yompa bailing out shortly afterward (recovering from calf starin) and Gringo smacking his face off a kerb stone (see illustration below), we believe it was a positive exercise. We found out not only how better we could prepare, but also what equipment was an wasnt essential, as well as how best to fuel our bodies for the long lonley night. As mentioned previously, this 'fact finding' exercise will take place again tomorrow in an effort to iron out those late-march niggles. All in all, training has been good for the majority, and I took a wee de-tour in front of the Traffic Scotland Webcam, just to prove that A) I was indeed out for a jaunt that particular day, and B) I am an idiot. I am happy to say there has been progress on the fundraising front also. The CLAN Supporters (Facebook link) will be looking to raise funds off the back of the Highland March this year, leaving the Marchers to get on with the task in hand, whilst much needed funds are raised to provide our disabled fan-base with a better match day experience, home and away. Less than 4 WEEKS to go until we set off, and although some routes have already been discussed with anticpation of various possible post-split scenarios, nothing as yet is final. The chances are it'll be predominently OFF-ROAD in an effort to knock off a few miles from the curvature of the A9 and Cycle Route 7. There's the support vehicle, accommodation and other bits and bobs to arrange, so for now it's off to get the maps out, make a few calls, and let these next couple of weeks fly by... Easter Monday is not actually a holiday in Scotland (Bank or Public) so many people will be working. As for playing Hamilton, as I pointed out, it;s the furthest trip possible for the bottom 6 teams and as clubs generally have end of season parties/dinners etc on the evening of the final game scheduling has historically been done to avoid unnecessarily long journeys. The accompanying notes on the SPL Website tell us that the OF games were prioritised on the fixture calendar and then everything else has been fitted in around it. Why? Because they can't be trusted to have an OF derby as the title decider. The outcome..everyone else has to fit in around then, regardless of the inconvenience. What's more, as Charles has pointed out, with the fixtures all over the place, in order to fit our replay in against Celtic we could be left playing 5 games in 15 days!!! And that's just the issues it creates for us....I'm sure other clubs will have ample complaint as well (Hamilton playing St Mirren 3 times away when they are battling each other for relegation for example). If I was looking for a conspiracy, I might even go so far as to suggest that it's been made as convoluted as it has for no reason other than adding weight to the argument for a 10 team SPL with no split!!!2 points

Don't know they are born this is really starting to wind me up. you look at these ungratefull scum taking out their frustrations on the police who are merely doing there job and then you take a look at places like libya, bahrain, egypt etc where protests are being met with death and maiming. some people in this country need to take a long hard look at themselves1 point

this is my point exactly i am 100% behind the people that want to protest in peace but i have no time for people who are only out to cause trouble purely because they can. i sometimes think that some people take the freedoms granted to them in this country for granted1 point

Going to games is less and less enjoyable as the standard of football is going rapidly downhill. Will have to think long & hard about renewing mine.0 points

He never lets us down with his negativity I'm going to sound just as negaitive as DC here, but I'm really not looking forward to the remaining games without Hayes in the team. He's the spark of brilliance in the side. I'm a realist and IHE posted that he'd been speaking to football agents that had Hayes on their radar , don't see the problem with what I posted tbh-1 points
