  1. SkySports News Seems all done and dusted.... Good luck to him, how much will TB get from the fee to replace him though? Is there time to get anyone else in????

  3. "Slightly off topic but Parkhead is the only away game we dont even think about going to because of the prices. £26 each for me and a 16yr old still at school and then £17 for a child plus travel and food is far too expensive for 90 mins entertainment" Exactly....i think theres one reason and one reason only why attendances are in decline. Admission Prices are shockingly expensive for what you get. Then again, someone has to cover the costs of the excessive wages in the game in general.

  5. Whatever Swindon paid for Cox is probably press speculation but that aside no Luke we shouldn't hand it all to Hayes. This club has a structure of reward for players and it has served us well for many years and kept us out of debt. Hayes will be offered the best we can afford to pay him, as will any other player. If he then feels, just like Blackie did, that earning big bucks is the way forward then he'll need to look elsewhere and we'll need to find a replacement. This club has a very difficult job trying to balance the books and, indeed, we are somewhat indebted to board members for puting their hands in their own pockets to keep us afloat this last couple of years. It would be follie to break away from the structure we have for one player. Perhaps if Jonny was bringing additional fans in by his performances then an increase could be justified but thats not happening.

  6. Our prices hav always been a joke. Even in the first division it would cost a child £14-15 to pay in to the North Stand on the day (£20 in the Main stand?) Over in Dingwall a child can walk up and pay in for £3!

  7. I totally get all that, but digging your heals in and ignoring the fact that you are driving away your own fans, or failing to realise that you are no longer competing with the other forms of entertainment on offer isn't going to make it any better in the long term and will only hasten the demise. We can go around with the attitude that "if people choose to spend money elsewhere then hey, ho" or we can try and compete and win back some of that spend...not just for one game, but over the longer term. That doesn't have to mean accepting a reduced income, but it does mean we need to take some time to think about what we do and how we structure it so we are catering for as many of our OWN fans as possible. ICT don't have it all wrong, our season ticket options are among the best in the league...so it does surprise me a little that the club should work so hard to bring those people in on a regular basis and then effectively show them a big fat two fingers when the OF come to town. I'm sure that wasn't the intention, but that's how some people feel about it. I'm a great believer that sometimes you just have to do what's right...something which ICT are not beyond realising. You just have to look at the offer they are giving following the St Johnstone postponement and them offering Hogg the new contract. Neither of these things makes the slightest bit of financial sense, but the good will that will come as a result of such actions is priceless.

  9. With Chris Wood going back to West Brom, Rooney's opertunities will only get better. Having said that, I think Rooney has been very, very lucky. The Blues will know he can score else they wouldn't have signed him. With Zigic injuryed at the start of the campaign, and Woods away now, even as a 3rd striker behind these two (and/or marlon king) he's always going to get a chance. Hayes, on the other hand, would find it harder to break into a team such as celtic, dundee united or any championship side, when you consider some of the class that is already on show. Hayes would be far better to pen a 2-3 year extention, produce his best, develop, and when he feels the time is right, move on to another club knowing ICT will get some dosh. If an injured Lee Cox can go to Swindon for £50,000, I'm sure a fully fit Hayes would be worth a minimum £200k in a year or two

  10. Unwise for the club to pay outlandish wages. Sets a precedent that will come back to haunt them.

I'm not often wrong, but sometimes i'm mistaken.

  12. IMO, Jonny isn't going to go anywhere he's not going to be playing....not in his nature. I don't think he'll go in this window...and whether or not he goes in the Summer will depend on what he can do between now and the end of the season (to attract interest) where he thinks ICT are heading next season and whether or not he thinks that will provide him with room to grow/develop any more. I don't buy the argument that we should blow any money coming in on giving him an enhanced contract. The club can't break even as it is, and getting the books to balance is far more important than any individual player. I we can't afford to give proper childs prices for a 5th round cup match, then there's no way we can afford to blow money on increased player wages.

  13. Why have you only shown the top prices Alex? I can assure you that I went through them all and EVERY match has a £5 child ticket available, including Hearts (although a couple are U12). St Mirren even have a £2 ticket available. I totally appreciate the need to maximise revenue....but it does piss me off when that's taken too far and infuriates me even more when it's then thrown in fans faces that if they don't pay up then we'll just sell seats to the opposition. The club could make a decent amount from the game AND still look after their own. After all, this is almost certainly a "bonus" in terms of the income that was budgeted for the season...is it really so important that we get £70,000 instead of say £50,000 (purely theoretical figures)??? I understand that the same price needs to be charged for the same seats in either end and that causes some issues in operating the usual family section, but why not use the West Stand to offer something that's better value for OUR fans. Make it the Family Section and charge £10 adult, £5 Child. Do it because it's the right thing to do and don't be handing it to the opposition because we can squeeze more money out of them. What value do we place on an extra 1000 HOME fans and the support that gives the team? Don't get me wrong, I'm of the opinion that Inverness does not give ICT the support it deserves, but sometimes we make it far too easy for people to make the decision to stay at home. When it comes down to it though, whatever way you try and justify the prices, the fact remains that ICT Fans (and some of them I would class as fairly die hard in the past) are deciding not to attend because they feel the price is not justifiable. If the die hards are turning their back on matches because of price, how on earth do we expect to attract new fans? Cup games have, as far as I can remember, always been cheaper because they were seen as a way to draw in new fans, get them caught up in the cup atmosphere and hope they come back more regularly....a philosophy that has long since been thrown out the window, and which is only adding to the long list of things that are killing the game.

  14. Cant just go pying certain players way more than others. It causes resentment and division. Stick to the wage structure.....if Johnny goes...so be it, i reckon he may well regret it, for all sorts of reasons

  16. You know what ... good luck to them !!!! I actually dislike County less than a lot of other teams !!! We have had a few good players from them over the years, and they have seen fit to extend the playing careers of a few of our legends too ! A very symbiotic relationship ! Regardless of the actual team, and more usually in debates where we were talking about stadium criteria, I have always said that whoever wins the first division deserves to go up to the SPL, regardless of anything else, as they have shown themselves to be the best football team in that division over the course of the season and its the football that matters. That opinion still holds true whether it is County or another team come the end of the season. I have no love for County, other than the love of beating them ... but I do kinda like the idea of those teams who already bitch about coming to ICT once or twice a season now having to bitch about the tortuous journey up the A9 to face two teams !!!!! Furthermore, I also stand by my own opinion on stadium criteria which is a newly promoted team should be allowed to use the existing seated part of its stadium for the SPL and if they choose to, should be able to use that first season in the SPL - and the extra money that brings - to make the stadium compliant rather than go down the route of spending money by March to have a compliant stadium "just in case" they win the league in May. I guess this position is less relevant now as ICT also set a precedent here too by sharing with the Dons and then getting the North/South stands built in double quick time ... but I just disagree with forcing teams to spend money they dont yet have on the off chance they will be champions ... It should be about the football and encouraging and assisting teams to reach the top rather than making them gamble with their own futures, incur debt they may not need to, and potentially spiral downwards if the gamble doesnt pay off ...... I didnt catch what Jim Spence was saying early doors on the radio on Saturday as I was running late .... but he seems to have been touting the larger league idea again .... something else I think is a good idea .... plenty of teams in D1 that could grace the SPL, and Ayr also took a good contingent to Hampden ....... even if they wouldnt have a fraction of them for a normal game.

  17. Funny how when someone makes a mistake or sclaff's a chance he suddenly becomes dross. In Nicks defence he is not a striker. He is, however, a decent midfielder and can play a bit when he's played in the right position and fitted into the right system. Personally I'm beginning to think that many of our players are struggling to know what the right system is. It changes for every game.

  19. Here's an interesting statistic. This appears to be Caley Thistle's first goalless draw at home since 1st February 2009 - Terry Butcher's and Maurice Malpas' debut game at home to Celtic. Yesterday was the management duo's third anniversary in Inverness.
