  1. The Alloa Athletic fans' forum has gone into meltdown. Their 'PH to Caley Thistle' thread has 1 reply!
  2. Hiya kingsmills, hiya pal Just read these quotes from Hartley regarding the way he likes football played: Like the sound of that
  3. Where have we heard this before Exactly my thoughts! In a way he isn't lying as the club haven't spoken to him, only Alloa chairman for permission. Weve learnt to take everything said with pinch of salt and if he wasnt a priority we wouldnt have approached him. Odds havent been shortening on Hartley for nothing. Hoping all this is sorted and we get him. Got a good feeling that he is the right man for the job. Both BBC and STV are saying we approached, nobody has denied we have approached. Clarification from the club would be nice IMO I disagree. In my view, both clubs are doing things in the right way in conducting their business in private.
  4. Much better to get the decision is right rather than quick.
  5. To extend the metaphor i read in another thread - Its like once you split up with an ex, after seeing her with another man - you realise you have a six pack, fantastic prospects and your better off without her. Just then, you get laid after a night in hoots and she stays all weekend and ends up being your bird, your ex seems like a fat user!! I actually voted Barry for the job, but I'm team Hartley now!
  6. Why not just concentrate on the football anyway and leave the new manager appointment to the club? Simples!

Because the U20's are often used to give fringe players and/or players returning from injury a game etc, then it's difficult to build any consistency with the squad which would (should) also build consistency in play and results. IMO, that is one of the biggest problems created by getting rid of the reserve matches which were used for these things, as well as bringing through younger players and giving them game time against (theoretically) stronger opposition.
  8. George Best was a box to box midfielder - although in his case the term did not refer to what he did on the football pitch.

If Hartley is made manager then this will be an example of how to do business from both parties involved. Rod Petrie and Terry Butcher take note...
  10. I remember a home game v Hearts where as he approached North Stand to take a corner the chant was 'Vladimir Romanov... He s**** Paul Hartley off' to which Hartley gave a big smile, followed by a gesture with his cupped hand and open mouth. There then was a round of applause from our fans

  13. Good to see ICT and Alloa conducting themselves quite well in this latest development. Unlike some recent characters.

If my arithmetic serves me well, often it doesn't, right now one of four... Arithmetically maybe......but can you really see hearts gain 31 points more than Celtic before end of season. In answer to question......We could do it but we wont. Tonight Celtic will realise they wont even make the Europa league so will be all out to win Premiership. They wont be resting players any more. We could match them and stay second but I cant see us overtaking them.

Just to confirm the flag is being sent up in a courier service either today/tomorrow by a very reliable st johnstone fan, sorry for any incovenience caused
  19. We're doing ok without one. Plus we've already saved thousands on salaries!
  20. DD has it spot on. Hibs have blown a fortune in the last season on time wasters like James Collins and have nothing to show for it. Terry and Mo will be doing the same thing they did here. Free bes and loanees. Only difference is they wont have to settle for the 3rd or 4th option on the list. They will more than likely get their prime targets. I really dont fear then coming after our players. Hibs paid through the nose just to get the Managerial Dream team they wanted. I will be surprised if any money will be left to spend (unless they have a clear out). As said the players havent lost faith and they certainly havent lost their bottle. The last performances, Hibs with the circumstances and St Johnstone being a boagey team pay dividence to that. We are on the brink of making more history in our near 20 year existance. We as fans can all sense and I think so can the players.
  21. If we happen to be beating hibs at Easter road I might be partial to some caley away with terry and mo.
