  1. Forecast for tuesday is zero temp and thick cloud. Playing surface should be ok. Wrap up well and jump about. Our goals will keep you warm.
  2. CJT are having a quiz night on Friday 30th January in the Social Club, Greig Street at 7.30 pm. Teams of up to 4 at £5 a head. Book by PM me or just turn up. Hope a few of you can come. Should be a good night to start the week-end.
  3. Game with St Johnstone tomorrow, what should be the starting eleven. I assume that David Raven is sitting this one out and I am led to believe Tansey is also out through suspension due to reaching a certain number of yellow cards this season. Any official word on Watkins? My team would be: 4-1-4-1 Brill Meekings Devine Warren Shinnie Draper Doran Christie Ross Watkins Mckay
  4. Why, when we are playing well and winning games, do people advocate changing formations and messing with our set up?

Oh, I must do my CaleyD thing (re 'small k' in Mckay). Calum Ferguson has one 'ell' (I think)!

Yogi is becoming a cult hero lol and is right on so many levels. But i have to disagree that 'summer football is the way forward'. Instead of looking to England as some sort of 'mecca of football' we should be looking to Germany because they have got it right on so many levels. In Germany the christmas/boxing day fixtures are the played then there is a break for 4/5 weeks and then they are back into it on last week of Jan. Thats something which should be explored before we make a drastic change like summer football imo
  7. I agree, bring in Devine ( it's been ages since he's played!) and slot Meekings to right-back. Alternatively, keep our usual pair at the back with Devine at right-back? Less preferred as I seem to remember Devine having a very uncertain game there last season (forgotten the opponents). But I think he's certainly capable at the back. If Watkins is fit, then he should start. Totally agree with your selection, ICTRoughi.
  8. Temperature's are expected to pick up a little with temperature hovering around freezing tomorrow night. Assuming the pitch is currently covered there shouldn't be a problem. As for the comfort of fans, it is the wind and wet that really chills. Winds should be light and it should be dry so as long as folk wrap up they should be cozy enough. Should be a good evening for a game of football - if people are going to use the weather as an excuse not to go to a game where they are able to pay only as much as they want, then I suspect they are not destined to become regular attenders.

Seeing as its £5 for the replay. I think they're going for the sympathetic pitch

Entirely sensible points he has made in the P&J. 6 week month in terms of pay day, and arctic weather? He's spot on about January. Summer football is 100% the way forward.

The English copied the premier league idea from us.

The part about the english doing what is best for their game, and us not doing so, I feel is very true. Instead of looking at how to benefit the game in Scotland I always feel that the blazers just copy whatever the english do - just look at the names of our divisions. It's a stupid notion on too many levels. Go on Yogi!
