Todays Courier. http://www.inverness-courier.co.uk/Sport/Football/Caley-Thistle-squad-rally-behind-Dani-Lopez-amid-claims-he-was-punched-24112015.htm I'm inclined to think that, assuming he was provoked, and I don't condone spitting, perhaps his suspension and a club fine, along with a public apology from Dani should be enough punishment. As to his qualities, I haven't seen him play other than on TV but wonder if he's just struggling with the pace of Scottish game and the fact he's not had a lot of game time, either at ICT or his loan spells south of border. I seem to remember Juanjo struggling when he came first and he had had some experience with Hearts. I'd like to see the club sort things out quickly and, with players coming back from injury, get back to the happy dressing room.

'Getting closer' and 'just a few things to be ironed out' according to the man himself on Sportsound there - should be tied up 'in the next week or so'. That sounds like he's fairly set on staying.
  5. Our traffic has actually stayed reasonably constant although the level of posting does sometimes wane. My own take is that I believe forums still have their place, and they always will, but social media and facebook are far more instant a medium and may be more appealing to some users (especially younger ones). I cant see the main social media sites fading anytime soon so even the developers of this forum software are constantly looking for ways to enhance the product and make it as easy to use and as 'social' as possible. Where forums do have an advantage I think is that they typically tend to be niche markets or 'cliques' that require (mostly free) membership. All of us here have at least one common interest (ICT) and probably several more (Inverness, football, local history, films etc) that we can discuss freely and whilst we do have arguments and have to click the ban hammer once in a while, for the most part its a somewhat civilised and safe environment. There is also the fact that being a smaller niche community there is a good chance you will get loads of opportunity to put faces to screen names and see a real person that you might not when posting on facebook or twitter. How many of you went to Romania earlier this year and introduced yourself to people with "I am <nickname> on CTO" . I myself am a member of two other boards i frequent regularly, one for Toronto FC, and one for the car I now drive and as a normal member rather than moderator or administrator its just the same ... I get introduced to folk all the time as their screen names and we collectively all have this little niche bubble we are part of .... After 20+ years of running this forum (so far) all I can say is 'Good Luck'. Its a lot of fun most of the time but also a massive pain in the arse at others !

I never see v Celtic as an important game. Mostly they win but they are beatable so what I'd like to see is an attack minded team on the pitch. Go at them. They still have a dodgy defence and they struggle with balls over the top so just go for it and see how it turns out.

Agree with you up to the point where you said he was lazy The games I've seen, he's been trying all right, but he's just not good enough. Maybe if the premiership came down to the pace he's obviously used to in the Spanish 3rd tier, he'd be an absolute star.....

Fon Williams raven. Warren. Meetings williams . Tansey. Draper polworth. Sho silva. Mutumbo . Storey subs: esson horner tremarco Devine Vincent vigurs wedderburn. strong line up if you ask me, and although it's taking a chance I'd play with attack in mind as Celtics defence hasn't been great! If you wanted a stronger bench then obviously one or two changes could happen but I think we should have a go at them! This line up can obviously only work should all players be 100% fit but we can only hope!

Yes, but we were two goals up at the time. We were also hanging on for the last 10 minutes. My concern would be that if we allow Celtic to come at us, then we will concede and lose.

But all managed in a lower division. Hughes has/had us playing better football than any other era IMO, such a novelty to see us dominating games with possession based football. I'd love to see him sign up for another couple of seasons. We need to realise this is very much a transition period, and if we manage a top 6 finish this season, which I'm still hopeful for if we manage to get our injury problems sorted, then that's an excellent achievement under the circumstances. If not, then I'd be confident that Hughes can build a squad capable of challenging for trophies and a top 4 spot in the next couple of seasons, if given the backing!
  11. I think we all knew it was going to be a roller coaster season with the player losses and so many walking wounded. We are not half way through the season yet so I for one have no reason to think we will end up anywhere near the relegation zone much more likely to end up in the top six once again. We have the players in the squad to challenge and beat anyone in this league all we need is to get everyone fit and start fielding a settled team, then the confidence will come to start making and taking more chances and less slip ups at the back. It has been a hard slog for the Manager players and fans so far but I firmly believe better times are ahead and all will be well at the end of the season.

Doubt I (we) will bother with this one due to the pathetic ticketing situation. Hopefully we can buy them on the day at the ground. I'm not going to commit spending money on a game that I'm not 100% certain I will make. Its not as if we're going to fill the away end and run up a two mile queue is it? I've never liked buying tickets in advance for a normal league game. As I say, its pathetic.

Do you know the specific case likely to be put to the player? Until the referee's report is received, and to ensure a fair hearing, the player will get a chance to argue his case with legal or other representation. I believe that this club is fair, will listen, will take specialist advice, and in the end take the right decision based on the player's contract. There will of course be a right of appeal by the player, but not by the club, if the decision is not one accepted by the player. Does anyone remember this legal case? http://www.theguardian.com/football/2004/jun/22/newsstory.sport3 Let's move on and see if we can repeat the result on grass this Saturday without a player who at times actually looked interested in the game at Motherwell when recalled to the team.

To be honest I think that we all expectorated too much of Lopez.
