  1. Disappointing, I thought we might have been in with a chance. Never mind, he is the past, time to look to the future under the new manager.
  2. 3. Pride of the Highlands is, has been and always will be naff. It makes the club sound provincial and plays up to the southern, parochial view of clubs outside the central belt.
  4. Hijacking topic slightly, but Mantis started it................. Here's the first Preview of the season.
  5. Predictable thread but experienced seers like ma self prefer to analyse the opening 4-6 league matches prior to providing a studied response.
  6. Top six and a semi-final please
  7. Five's not a quadruple!
  8. Does anyone ever recollect anyone ever calling for the 'Pride of the Highlands' line to be included in the badge? I certainly don't and to do it with no fan consultation whatsoever seems very shortsighted, especially from club which claims it wishes to be far more open for the supporters from this season onwards.
  9. 1 point
Excellent!.... just keep schtum about the home match against Dundee the following week, since I have flights, train tickets and a flat booked that weekend for me and the missus!
  10. Pride of the Highlands is a decent enough slogan for the club to use where appropriate, but I really disagree with it being used on the official club badge. In my opinion it just looks a little tacky. I think it would be worthwhile trying to get the opinion of the majority on fans on this, and then writing to the club if there is a clear consensus against the new design. A couple of years ago there was uproar when Everton changed their club badge. There was then discussion between the club and fans and a new badge was agreed upon for the following season.
  11. I'm not overly fussed about the shortening to ICTFC but I think the "Pride of the Highlands' is a bit cringey. It's good for winding up County fans but I hope we haven't actually used it on our club crest / shirts. I feel for topsixnextyear - I think he was the first person to really push these kinds of phrases on Twitter to rile Staggies. Had he somehow been able to copyright these phrases he could have earned a wee fortune.
  12. Looks like most on this site are ok with this situation? I can't believe it. What would Celtic fans say if they were abbreviated to GCFC Pride of Glasgow, Aberdeen as AFC Pride of the East, hearts as HFC. I can't believe you are prepared to take this lying down! It cheapens and hurts our history.
  13. I must say I'm very happy with our acquisitions this transfer window. Nice blend of youth with the signings of Mulraney, Boden and now King, and now an experienced 'old head' in McNaughton to give cover for the defence. Considering our 'bargain basement' budget, I've got a good feeling that things are going to work out just fine. Can't wait.
  14. Will take that, but sounds like we had to really work for it and given we now have at least 2 renowned strikers it's a little disappointing that it was down to our already well established MF and DF to win the game for us. From what I heard boden was poor, it's early in the season yet but if we are to hit the ground running in the league we need to get it improved and find that target more often
  15. Not there but am no convinced Johndo. Still, as you say it's early in the season..............
