There is an unofficial signing section in the North Stand, Section E. A bunch of young kids do their best to get the crowd going and usually sit down the front of that section. Normally games v Celtic are a bit busier due to the larger crowd so they might not be there but that could be a good shout. Another good thing about that area of the ground is that the stewards tend to be a wee bit more tolerant of fans standing (not always however!) If you want a good view of the pitch and aren't too fussed about atmosphere then the Main Stand gives a cracking view of the game. But as you seem to be looking for a bit more noise I think heading for the North Stand is a better option.

I have no idea what the facebook like system is but as someone who has collected lots of red dots ( I think I got 7 + for suggesting we didn't need stokes and his IRA baggage, astonishing, even Celtic were embarassed by his behaviour) it would be more helpful to know who and why they issued them and then have an opportunity to engage them in a conversation as to why a comment was made or the rational behind it ie back it up, as a relative newcomer to the site over a couple of years but a much older supporter of the club, my opinion is that too many follow the herd, that is, the comments of those with lots of greenies next to their name rather than thinking for themselves, then again, that's just the human condition, after all, why do they issue the results of opinion poles which they know to be untrue and unrepresentative of the majority? because some people always want to be with the majority and will change their vote, it's much safer there. Go on give me some reds I have broad shoulders.

I am attending my first Caley Thistle home game in a few weeks v Celtic (been a fan for a number of years now but I live in Manchester). Can the forum give any advice about the best place to sit in the ground? Would love to sit somewhere with a bit of atmosphere & not sure which stand to pick. Thanks!

I thought JH was pretty honest in his assessment and what he achieved albeit with someone else's players was remarkable. Re his buying policy I think most were panick buys, we were so short of first team players after the Astra games that he just started signing those that were available.Re his passing style it worked a treat when we were ahead but he couldn't change things when we went behind, players must be able to mix it up but to be fair to JH he picked up points with a team often without recognised first team players due to injuries. Re his comment about RF being a rookie manager is again correct RF has never managed at any level and I worried when RF in his pre season interview with the Chairman said we would keep passing forward which is as sensible as saying we will keep passing sideways, there is a time to go forward and back, we saw the effect of the Hughes dogma I hope the forward pass and loss of possession is not the RF dogma. After many calamities with the JH passing style the players took to it and it was noticeable that the opposition were generally more tired than ICT in the last 15 mins because of it. I would hope RF would build on that style with a little more variation rather than abandon it. There is nothing worse for players than have to do a 180 about turn under a new untried boss. I wish RF and the club the best of luck with what is by any stretch a gamble, doing your badges is no different to training for your chosen profession, we all know that theory and the real world are very different.

Totally missing the point! Th whole point of the initiative that Richie is involved in is because regardless of the money involved, these players DON'T feel they have anyone to approach with their issues, BECAUSE of the fear of being judged. Because they are perceived to be so well off that how can they possibly be depressed. Depression and all mental illness can affect anyone at anytime irrespective of your bank balance. It is also worth remembering that, for example, Mr Tansey does not earn as much as say Mr P Pogba, so although its fair to say that 'all footballers are overpaid' it's unfair to place all in the same category. It's also worth remembering that whilst the 'average man's' career may last 50 years...most footballers will only be earning 'full-time' money for 15-20 years if they are lucky. So it's quite perceivable that the fear of this insulated life ending can lead to depression, being out injured for a year may not seem too bad, but missing out on 7% of your career would be pretty daunting, and could affect your earning potential for many years subsequently. By highlighting an issue that affects one group of society, nobody is trying to say that others don't deserve, it's merely trying to focus on one particular group that is often overlooked in this regard. Good to see Richie supporting this cause. And if i choose to spend my hard earned on a tattoo or a rolex or a diamond ring for the wife WTF has that got to do with whether or not i'm depressed?

Fraid for many the bright lights, the spondoolachs and the constant positive attention can quickly depreciate into dark holes, bankruptcy and constant negative attention.

Im sorry but that is so much off the mark......Mental illness can affect us all and I know that in my personal and professional life. What has tattoos to do with it? Just be grateful its not you or your family! Mental illness is just as much an illness as having a physical illness such as diabetes or asthma. Would you call all ill folk self indulgent? I think not...Thankfully attitudes like yours belong in the dark ages and I for one am glad that the issue of mental illness, especially in young men, is getting some coverage at last.

This is my first post on the site so please be gentle with me. However, I have been an avid follower of the site for a couple of years. I think that the transfer window has all the appearances of being successful in that we are signing players that have a higher pedigree than we were a couple of years ago. Another positive is that we haven't lost players, perhaps the Aberdeen scouts have mislaid their Aberdeen/Inverness bus timetable. I have managed to see a few of the early season games and was impressed with King, Mulraney and McNaughton. It is a great pity that McNaughton looks like he is out for some time as I think that his experience would have benefited many of the younger players. Some of my friends are Jambos and they are raging that King hasn't been retained and from all accounts he has been telling friends how much he is enjoying it in Inverness. I am sure that this down to getting game time and the spirit in the dressing room. My main point is that Larnell Cole could be a massive success. He was very highly thought of at Man Utd and only left because Rene Meulensteen persuaded him to go to Fulham when he became manager there. As we all know Meulensteen didn't last long there and when Felix Magath took over he ditched him as soon as he could. Another of my friends is Man Utd daft and when I told him about Cole signing for us he couldn't believe how lucky we were as he has pace and skill. I think that his career has probably gone off the rails following his move to Fulham and meeting Mr Magath but this is probably the right place for him to get it back on track. We have had a poor start to the season but I think that if we stay injury and suspension free we can creep up the table into the top half of the league.

Phew. It makes a change for us not to have lost any of our key players at the end of the window.....and to have got a couple more in to strengthen the squad! I had a horrible feeling that Tansey or Meekings would suddenly be whisked away, but not this time! Right, now let's get on with the job and start getting the points that the quality of the squad deserves!

We've been signing non league players up until now .. I'll happily take a young player with pedigree from a Championship team. No risk for us in a 6 month loan .. if it doesn't work out then he leaves at Christmas. We needed some sort of signing to get kids interested in ICT again since they can't even buy a football strip! Imagine being in school and saying the guy ICT signed was in the same youth team as Pogba (the most expensive player in the world)... Will make them proud to say they support ICT .. I'm buzzing ffs! Fans deserve some hope and a reason to turn out to games. It's why I keep banging on about the importance of investment in the team .. It can pay for itself

There has been a lot of talk about red dots these days - far more than you would expect from a forum full of what is primarily adults, most of whom have the intelligence to support Caley Thistle - and it is clear we need to change how we do this. I get mail about this all the time and it constantly amazes me that some folk get their jollies by red dotting someone because of who they are or how they will react rather than the post itself, or that someone who knows their post is somewhat controversial or goes against the grain gets outraged themselves when a flurry of red dots appear. Ultimately, the decision will lie with myself and the moderators as it is us who have to deal with some of the childish actions and re-actions of those who dish them out and who receive them but there are basically three choices available to us that I am considering recommending to the mods. Facebook style "like" system. Maintain current system but allow users to see who voted them up/down. Allow positive votes only. The 4th option (allowing negative votes only) is not on the table. We have previously used the like system and this does work but we have never used the 'positive votes only' or the option to make all voting visible to all users so not sure about these. I welcome feedback from everyone - provided it is constructive - and will make a decision in conjunction with the mods in due course.

Whenever I see a footballer covered in tattoos I think there is someone who neither values his time nor money, same goes for the addictions mentioned above. Top footballers live in a gilded cage and I was pleased to see Matta of Man Utd speak out recently on that very subject saying that they did not live in the real world. Whilst having sympathy for anyone who is ill, mentally or otherwise, the people living under real pressure are those single parents who through death, divorce or illness find themselves having to bring up a young family whilst holding down a job to put food on the table, the majority just don't have the money or time to indulge in addictions. Perhaps those self centred, self loving footballers could contribute their tattoo money to these heroes for whom each day is a struggle. If you think I'm being harsh on footballers how many contributed to the " Thank you Jean Marc Bosman" fund after his trade union wrote to the players of the top 400 clubs asking them to donate their bonus money from ONE match, which was going to be used to help young footballers who failed to make the grade and ended up on the street. Answers on a very small postcard.
