I want to take a few moments to say a huge public thank-you to 3 specific forum members who have been toiling behind the scenes to update our entire stats program during the course of the pandemic. Its mind-numbing and repetitive work but it helps us immensely. Step forward: @IBM @ictewd and last but not least @tm4tj We are now at a stage where, if you go into any of the sub-menus from the main menu items shown below, the data you are presented with should be complete. This was a truly gargantuan task with every ICT game needing to be entered, team lines added, checking for yellow/red cards, substitutions and all sorts of other data. It also involved going through every single season and entering ALL the results for every team from that division for every season so the league table in the match report area showed the weekly table within a tab in the match stats .... If you want to check how it works ... go back to the fixtures page for season 2009/10 and relive Dundee's bottle crashing by viewing the table for each week as the season progresses ... its fun 🙂 : https://caleythistleonline.com/team/fixtures.html/. Ross Tokely, for years had the wrong number of appearances in our stats as some of the earlier seasons had incorrect or missing data. Not anymore. He is rightly at the top of the charts with his 589 appearances and 36 goals. 36 goals! That makes him our 10th top scorer of all time ... With Dennis Wyness now showing his 101 goals as the top scorer ... These stats have all been checked against Ian Broadfoot's stats which are and will forever remain the gold standard for ICT data, so I know the guys have done a tremendous job when it matches with those stats. A big benefit of having all this data up to date is the TM4TJ can have confidence to use our own stats in the previews and reports instead of having to go searching multiple sources to verify any information, which has meant that more recently he has had these online either in real-time or barely 10 minutes after the match has ended. I cannot thank these guys enough for all this effort, because I know how much it takes to keep it up to date. Separately to the stats stuff, TM4TJ has also spend a s***load of time going back many years and entering and updating match reports which is why you might see them on your feed as new items every so often. Whilst I have not been completely active in the data entry process, I have been around in the background tweaking and adjusting the coding within the stats program and trying to see if I can pull more data out of the database using my somewhat limited PHP/SQL skills. This work will continue because the guys - after taking a well-earned break - are hoping to go through the player data and get the player profiles entered/updated and up to date. We ask for volunteers all the time but this time around we hit the jackpot with @ictewd and @IBM. If anyone else wants to get in on the act and help us to enter player data or other info or offer help with other stuff, then please let myself or @tm4tj know. Those people who keep an eye out for EX-ICT scorers for example may want to help with highlighting a player's other clubs in their profile. I also know TM4TJ is always looking for people to help with articles, and I would be especially keen to hear from anyone with PHP/SQL skills, especially if you have knowledge of converting PHP5 to PHP7 as that's another project I have in the works for the stats as they were originally written in the earlier version. Once again THANK YOU guys. It truly is appreciated.

Awww shucks Scotty Yeah it was mind numbing stuff at times but great to see it all come together. IBM is now the main man for keeping our PotY poll running smoothly and EWD has been adding stats after every game plus all league scores that keep the league tables ticking over as well as completing the updating of every score since we entered the leagues, that's the one that gives us the league tables in chronological order. All this helps immensely and leaves me more time to concentrate on Previews and Reports which have been coming thick and fast this season, non stop to be honest. These previews and reports are not necessarily aimed at our own site users but are the front face of the site for anyone dropping in for a look. So although our own likes/dislikes are not massive, we know that some articles get a lot of views so that's pleasing. They also get promoted to Caley Thistle Online Facebook page and Twitter account. As Scotty said if anyone wants a shot at doing any articles/overviews or just anything ICT related just let us know. Maybe my bloggy style of reporting cheeses some off, who knows but unless anyone else wants a shot, then you will have to put up with me So big thanks to IBM & EWD for helping out diligently and taking time off their own routines to keep this site ticking over.
  4. The Pars have an easier finish on paper but I’ve hardly ever seen us bottle it at season’s end. We’re slow starters but we’ve had some historic finishes.

As someone who is a regular user of the site and one who has steadfastly resisted all the invitations to help out with it, can I say a huge "thank you" to all who put in so much work behind the scenes to make CTO such an excellent and informative site. Being involved in other things, I know just how hard it is to get people with the right skills and the motivation to do what is necessary week after week to keep thinks going. All the hard work of volunteers really is very much appreciated. I applaud you all.

Well deserved. Now for an extended contract to be signed.
  7. What we know: - Raith Rovers' Iain Davidson got sent off against us on 16 March for a foul on Todorov. - There was a bit of a melee afterward in which Davidson grabbed Sean Welsh by the throat. The referee showed a second red card for that. - On 24 March Davidson was served a notice of complaint by the SFA for Excessive Misconduct. The hearing is on 15 April. It was reported in the press that this was related to "discriminatory comments made towards an Inverness player". - Today Nikolay Todorov was served a notice of complaint by the SFA for Excessive Misconduct. The hearing is on 29 April. - Aamar Anwar is the solicitor acting for Todorov. Anwar is representing Glen Kamara in the case of Kamara being allegedly racially abused by a Sparta Prague player. According to the ICT statement: - "it is alleged that Nikolay was subjected to racial abuse which left him shaken and upset. The alleged abuse was witnessed by others" - "Nikolay chose to follow SFA procedures and immediately reported the matter to the match referee and accordingly a tribunal hearing into these allegations is to take place on the 15th April 2021." - "The present allegations are viewed as cynical, in that it has taken nearly one month for them to appear after an original complaint was made by Nikolay" What we don't know: - What has Todorov allegedly done that constitutes Excessive Misconduct? According to the SFA, Excessive Misconduct "Means the commission of an offence listed in the Schedule of Offences in Annex C where there is an aggravation of that offence. Such aggravation may include, but is not limited to, (i) prolongation of the incident involving the commission of the offence and/or (ii) where a combination of different offences listed in the Schedule of Offences in Annex C have been committed and/or (iii) the continued use of offensive, abusing and/or insulting language and/or behaviour and/or (iv) calling a match official a cheat and/or implying that a match official is a cheat and/or calling a match official’s integrity into question and/or implying that a match official’s integrity should be brought into question and/or (v) failing to comply with a match official’s request and/or (vi) adopting aggressive behaviour towards a match official and/or (vii) the existence of any racist, sexist, sectarian and/or otherwise discriminatory element to the offence and/or (viii) the degree of any physical violence (ix) committing Unacceptable Conduct" - Why has it taken nearly a month for them to cite Todorov? Let's see how this pans out...

That's great work guys. Well done
  11. Toddy for the winner in the playoff vs Raith??
  12. Tonight’s results pretty good for us. On Saturday Dunfermline play Queen of the South. Anything other than a Dunfermline win will see us still in fourth going into the Dundee game which would be a benefit. I agree with Hiro that we may not need three wins to end in fourth, but we do need to target three wins as, if we achieve that, we will be in the play offs. As Hearts seem to have recovered their form and we have to play them away, a win against Dundee is very important to our hopes. It looks like it could well come down to the Ayr game at the end of the month.
  13. A very middle aged visit to the local garden centre for me which, unlike the Scottish Football Association, seems to feel no reason to suspend normal activities for the afternoon.
  14. We are unbeaten on Friday evenings this season..... Saturday’s league games have been moved to 1200.
  15. Why don't we just play it first thing in the morning.
  16. Well I will not be tuning in for that it will be easy to find something better to do
  17. Will there be open all mics at the funeral do you think? Or just the one boring commentator. Need to know for a friend.😙
  18. Well we were the first team to earn a place in the 4th round, this scheduling gives us a chance to do be the first into the 5th!
  19. Interesting time given there is a non TV game at 1900. Perhaps the club wanted an early kick off given the journey back north afterwards? We had an 1830 in the league before the times settled on 1900, so it is possible the time is down to us rather than the SFA. Friday is better than Sunday given the Dundee game on the following Tuesday.
  20. Do they think that everyone knocks off early on Fridays? At 7:45 on Friday, BBC Scotland is showing.... Forfar vs Dundee United. I'd say that is the least attractive of the three ties on Friday.
  21. Friday night at 6. Massive kick in the bollocks for everyone who has a job and will likely be working through the game... Why they couldn't move it to 7:45 on the Saturday when everyone would be out of work baffles me.
  22. I could just about see the justification for disrupting the football schedule for the funeral of the monarch herself but for a consort surely today's silence followed by a similar show of respect on the day of the funeral would suffice. The death of a very elderly man is extremely sad for his family and those who knew and loved him but we have not postponed football matches for the sake of the 140 000 or so who have died in the past year or so either directly or indirectly from Covid and I am unconvinced that it is appropriate or necessary to do so next Saturday either.
  23. The teams all had a minute silence today as a mark of respect so why should they need to shift the time of the game as there will not be anyone from the clubs going to the funeral.
  24. Dont you love this forum - a bit like real life itself - a short while ago we were preparing to meet our maker and now after two jabs in the arm we are world beaters again - Its a funny old game
