Swearing I am no prude. I sit in section G for the atmosphere and am fine with the occasional use of the Anglo Saxon as an unintended expletive or as a connecting, adjective, or rhyming word in a song. However, yesterday it was just offensive and not funny: Constant (and I mean constant) 'Imrie you are an F'ing C' adds nothing to the atmosphere, is not clever, and I am sure only serves to fire up the inteded recipient. This is just one of many examples. The constant reference to Imries' private life was the same. There is a difference between clever banter and slanderous base insult. But it's not just Imrie, more and more we are just hearing repetative insults to the opposition, ref etc which make the protagonist sound like an inarticulate idiot. Come on lads....you used to do a great job of livening up the North stand with wit and banter and people used to join in (I know not enough... but some). Those people on the fringes who you are trying to get to join in are just getting sickened by you and thinking of moving...or have already. If you really want to help the club you need those on the fringes, who are not brave enough to shout on their own, to join in. I have supported you on here on numerous occasions in the past but yesterday, and not for the first time, you alienated me. And you are right next to the family section!

Lets retitle this thread "Scapegoat". Ross is a youngster who has earned his place but has been thrown in at the deep end becos of injury to Foran. Remember the same thing happened to Rory McAllister and how would you compare Ross to Rory ? I would say that Ross has significantly more promise of making it as a SPL player. But he needs experience - preferably from the bench - and of course he needs to muscle up - but did we not say the same about Barry Robson - or Obdhiambo - or even Rooney. Ross is the future of ICT and perhaps the finger of blame should be pointing at several of the "experienced" and seasoned professionals who were playing alongside Ross yesterday. And - here comes Hairy Chibber - as it completely frustates me that we continue to play Ross on his wrong foot. I can appreciate Hayes as he does come inside - but Ross to me is more of yer traditional Scottish right winger who uses his pace to hit the bye line. I would prefer to see Hayes and Ross switch - even fer longer periods in a game - and I can accept that he is just keeping the left berth warm fer Foran and Hayes will be first choice on the right - BUT it has to be horses for courses and ya play individuals to their strength and to the ultimate benefit of the team. TB frustrates me in regard to his apparent tactical reluctance to do this.

Ok, so we have all creamed over the terrific result against United and to an extent our first half display against Celtic. We didn't fluke the result at Tanadice, it seems (from what I've read, seen and heard) we played great football and scored 4 excellent goals. If you take into consideration our opponent, Hamilton, have conceded a whopping 8 goals in 2 SPL games and just been knocked out of the cup by 1st division Raith Rovers. On top of all that they are set to be missing captain Alex Neil (injury) and their best defender Martin Canning (suspension), they sold their best midfielder, McArthur, during the transfer window and Billy Reid seems to be experimenting with a new formation. there is a lot (^) in our favour and I'm even tempted to stick some cash on @ evens with the bookies for a home win but this expectancy is exactly why we will lose this game and to top it all off Imrie will score the winner. We haven't beaten Hamilton since they made it to the SPL, Billy Reid knows how to beat us, a bit like Calderwood did at Aberdeen.. I don't know how but they just know. Hopefully me posting this will soften the blow when we lose and all the renewed optimism turns to numerous posts regarding Tel's inadequacies. ... and if I'm wrong then we'll all be happy :)

It may sound a wee bit inssneible fer the man who got turfed out of Tannadump fer using a swear word BUT I agree with you - to a degree. Am I not wrong in saying that the Away crowds are a real mix of ages and sexes ? There is a hard core who chant and there is the other "crew" who join in every now and again - TBH I cannot remember the last time that the entire away support STOOD up and sang in unison as they did at Tannadump - it was easier to see from the Home End But in such company the odd "rude" chant is chortled at but not repeated or if it is there is a senior derision voiced which is tolerated by the yoof. But you are both correct - supports are better when ya go through the repetoire of singing mainly the golden oldies. The "gang" at the back of Section G are the frustrated yoofs who have to watch the home performances and think that it is irritating peeple like Imrie to chant and chant the same abuse - Imrie must have feckin loved it - sadly that probably only upped his game. And dont anyone come up with the alcohol excuse - as ya can get just as much oiled at home as ya can do away. I would be a feckin season ticket holder if the TCS atmosphere was improved. And why do the feckin "tutters" and sweetie rustlers want to sit in a feckin seat behind the goals at every home match - and whilst I am on ma box - the real ABUSE from Section G is middle aged nomarks who complain about everything that a HOME player does wrong. Clear Section G of any season ticket holders but make it open space to anyone who wants to go in there and sing. Give me a feckin Yellow Jacket wiv IHE on it and I will "police" the feckin beautiful peeple who have ICT at their heart. For a few drams of course.

That was one of the worst games I've ever had to sit through. I should've done what the woman next to me did....left at half time!! We could still be playing now and not scored. If the whole crowd can see in the first 10 minutes that Rooney isnt going to win a thing in the air against Mensing, why can't the players see it too? There didn't seem to be any attempt to play a plan b. Not sure why anyone thinks Hayes had a decent game, that was easily the worst I've ever seen him play. And as for Cox...he was awful too. In fact, other than Gillet and Ross, the whole team was mince. I guess 3 points from 3 games isn't too bad, but these games against those we expect to be around us come the end of the season are really the ones we need to be picking up points from. Especially at home.

I think we can expect to see that happening more with future opponents this season too. Towards the end of last season it was clear teams were adapting to cope with Hayes' threat and managing to contain him more, and given the impact he made against Utd and early against Celtic, SPL teams will already consider him our main threat. Hopefully Odhiambo can maintain the form he showed in pres-season and against Utd so we don't end up trying to channel all our creative play through Hayes. Re the original post, surely it's counter-productive to start picking on any of our players this early in the season, particularly one so young and inexperienced? Ross has had two decent performances out of his first three SPL starts, which I'd suggest is a decent return. It's unreasonable to expect him to be consistently effective when he has so little experience, particularly when the rest of the team doesn't perform either, and when, as so many people have pointed out, he still has a fair bit of physical developing to do. Don't forget, too, that he wouldn't be in the side if Foran was fit: it's not as if Butcher sees all the hopes of the team resting on his shoulders.

I never liked him, and did meet him a few time, I still think he's a bowbag, but the lad at the back the day that kept calling him a c u next Tuesday really did over egg it, he is the sort of ego trip that would play up to it, fair play to him after when he walked round shaking an hugging all our players tho, there that's me being nice.

He was probably our best outfield player yesterday, certainly our best attacing player. The majority of chances in the second half came from his area, he made more space and put more balls into the box than any other attacker. He took the wrong option a couple of times but he made more impact than any other player going forward. He does need to strengthen himself a bit but he's still relatively young and obviously has talent. I do thinki that Foran needs to come back into the side as he gives us more options but to slate Ross for his performance hyesterday isn't justified, in my opinion.

Not sure I would want him back but the whole paedo chanting business was disgraceful. I fear we may not have heard the last of this matter.

I couldnt believe how long he lasted he should have been hooked at half time. I'm sorry he can either go to the gym and bulk up or he can **** off cos he will not make at a high level if he gets outmuscled as easily as he does currently. I for one would give Shinnie (a natural left sided player) who has more pace and is stronger should be given chance.

Totally agree.... In fact I'd go as far as to suggest Ross was our best player today. Hayes looked completely fecked by about halfway through the second half. I couldn't believe the substitution. AS you can expect i was ever grateful for the sub and i thought shane was very good when he came on and he should have been awarded a penalty

I think Imrie has a lot of affection for the players and backroom staff at ICT but not for the handful of our so called support who abused him. Personally, I was sad to see him go although some of his behaviour clearly leaves a lot to be desired. But if you don't like a particular player for some reason don't boo him when he's on the ball. By all means jeer and laugh when he makes errors but we all know that booing only serves to motivate players to silence the boo boys. Just because you may think Imrie's a wee nerd doesn't mean you have to behave like a nerd yourself. When Imrie got the ball in midfield in the first minute he was going nowhere. Then a small number of morons boo'd him. Immediatelty you could see the anger and determination in him as if to say "I'll ****ing show you". He did - and how! The goal gave huge encouragement to Hamilton and drained the confidence of our players. Would he have scored had he not been boo'd? Maybe, maybe not - but what I am sure of is that booing him made it more likely he would shoot - and shoot with venom. I hope those who boo'd him are proud of their contribution to our defeat today.

And get a suspension for a few games - that would be clever. How Dougie will laugh if he logs on and reads such stupid comments. As if he hasn't got enough to laugh about already.

What are the differences between now and our last season in the SPL, looking back would you say that we are in a far stronger position or weaker. Our keeper is far better this time around, we also have a quality no 2. Ldz is away, I thought he was a good defender although not always consistent but he was prone to giving the ball away whilst trying to run past an opposing midfielder and left us wide open for a counter attack. Our new left back, what a find, and he makes Imrie look like a nancy boy. A new CB, Tokely. Barrowman is away, enough said. When Rooney had the ball the last time Round I would expect his shot to miss the goal now I have complete faith in grande balls. Kerr is away, not bad midfielder but he used to sit back when the ball was in front of him and the opposition would pick it up, like Stratford last season. The youngsters coming through the ranks now are of far better quality and they can add something to the team and not just brought on to run down the clock. I could go on all day but our Goalie has improved, we have a solid back 4, an experienced pairing in midfield,Flash Eric can jinx his way past any defense and just wait till the 3 dubliners are at their peak again. The futures bright, the futures Red and blue and White.
