  1. Kingsmills I am rather less than sure about that. The SNP exists for the sole purpose of taking Scotland out of the UK and everything else comes a poor second to that objective. I am also sure that this will become even clearer as the referendum approaches - as will be their attempts to pick fghts wth "the Westminster government" which has become their latest bete noire now that they can no longer gripe on about "the English" since their Anglophobia count was getting dangerousy high. Well. of course it does and they have never made any secret of the fact.which is why the Scottish Parliament voting system was deliberately set up by Westminster to ensure there would never be majority Governments in Scotland as the SNP vote increased......just in case! That worked as well as they anticipated, didn't it.... NOT......much as most of their policies have achieved what was anticipated...NOT. Having lived through the years since 1999 with Scotland and the Scots being called "subsidy junkies" and lots of other pejorative names........I really struggle to understand why the Westminster Government wants to keep us at all..because I get the impression that if voters in England had a say....we'd be set adrift on a raft with no paddle. You surely don't think that the UK Government, that bastion of probity, fairness, equity and social conscience could possibly have an ulterior motive which benefits them but not us, do you? I will be voting in this referendum for the future of my great-grandchild and future great-grandchildren, which I think will be best served in an Independent Scotland and not within the Union. In the 1979 referendum, I voted and actively worked for the future of my children...and in the 1997 referendum, for the future of my grandchildren, I used to assume the SNP would go their own ways as individuals into other political parties when independence had been achieved (I had planned the LibDems, myself)....but now I'm not so sure that's a good idea....at least not until there is a centre/centre left party for which I can vote, who can stand in elections in Scotland after Independence (as in registered in Scotland as a Scottish Party as opposed to registered in the UK as a UK wide Party) and produces policies tailored to Scottish needs and aspirations. . I'd say I am thoroughly disillusioned with the UK mainstream parties...but that is stating the obvious...however, I'm also thoroughly disillusioned with the Scottish versions of the UK parties. They are, and always have been, imo, vitriolic against the SNP to the point of irrational obsession....and are simply the ventriloquist's dummies for their UK based masters (and I use the term dummies advisedly) in this independence "debate"..and every time they open their mouths, they add another yes vote to the total.......much as Unionist MPs travelling to Scotland and being reported in the MSM telling us what to think do. They don't have to pick fights with the Westminster Government, any more than the wee laddie cowering behind the bike-shed has to pick fights with the school bully...but if you want to consider that contradicting the lies, disinformation, misrepresentation, spin etc produced by Westminster and faithfully reported by your "journalist" cohorts in the MSM, is on a par with punching the nose of the bully who has just grabbed your dinner money..then that says a lot more about your attitude than it does about that of pro-independence supporters. With you being a "journalist" or something on that lines , anyone of my age would expect unbiased and temperate views.and not bias couched in unsupported "facts" .......but then I used to live in the days when the media was at least almost even handed enough to use the occasional "maybe","perhaps", "allegedly","it is said". "an unnamed source" etc...which flagged up the fact that the "news" report was more related to gossip interpreted by the "journalist" than actual fact....so kindly link me to something unbiased which confirms your assertion that their attempts to pick fghts wth "the Westminster government" which has become their latest bete noire now that they can no longer gripe on about "the English" since their Anglophobia count was getting dangerousy high.

  8. Ghostbusters or coupon busters? Rugby Park, the scene of some memorable scorelines for Inverness in previous years is the destination this weekend as Inverness travel to Ayrshire to take on winless Kilmarnock in the SPFL. The Hunting Lodge has been abandoned by the Caley Away crew in favour of the Portland Arms. Nothing to do with ghostly happenings at the Lodge I'm assured, but they are taking no chances and are moving camp anyway. Maybe Feb8th will exorcise the Lodge before the next visit of William Thomson, Kilmarnock's own Immortal one apparently. http://www.kilmarnockstandard.co.uk/ayrshire-news/news-east-ayrshire/kilmarnock-news/2012/03/09/kilmarnock-pub-bosses-call-in-ghostbusters-after-ghostly-incidents-81430-30479242/ Killie have had an inauspicious start to the season, losing three and drawing two league games and they have been dumped out of the League Cup by Championship leaders Hamilton. Not the start new manager Allan Johnston would have been looking for after his switch from Queen of the South in the summer. Maybe he's not magic after all! Richie Foran has picked up the first ever SPFL player of the month award, and also scooped the award at CTO after a sensational beginning to the season for our Irish captain. Thoroughly deserved accolades for our inspirational midfielder who is as adept in defence as he is in attack. Foran scored twice in August, one a thunderous diving header against Motherwell and the other at Celtic Park in a 2-2 draw. Billy McKay added an International cap to his CV, unfortunately he could not stop Luxembourg recording their first home win in a world cup qualifier for 43 matches as they dumped N Ireland 3-2, their last victory at home coming in 1972. Billy was a second half sub and almost scored after jinking clear in the box but his effort was hit high into the side netting. Our u20's paved the way in midweek coming away with a 3-3 draw at Rugby Park, where goals by Ryan Christie and Alan Evans along with an own goal gave Inverness a deserved share of the points. Kirishima is going to spill the beans on the teams in the build up to the game........... ...........“Man often becomes what he believes himself to be. If I keep on saying to myself that I cannot do a certain thing, it is possible that I may end by really becoming incapable of doing it. On the contrary, if I have the belief that I can do it, I shall surely acquire the capacity to do it even if I may not have it at the beginning.” No, this was not Charles Bannerman on Sportsound, but Mahatma Gandhi. It is perhaps a tad excessive to have drawn a Gandhi quote on a football forum, but the keyword from the captain to the manager is belief; around the club and the fans, that this year will be something special. The starting XI is performing so well that Conor Pepper hopes for the bench and no more. Furthermore, ICT Chris on Pie & Bovril has stated that “McKay is on fire. Literally on fire.” (which may give Pepper hope of a start if true) The international break has given most players a chance to rest, and injuries are thin on the ground for this match. There should be no surprises for ICT unless Malpas’ intensive training during the international break has worn out the squad. Killie are coming off a defeat and are in the same position ICT found themselves in last season – a reminder to all of how things can change. The danger comes from upfront; journeyman Kris Boyd, like the prodigal son, returned to the SPFL after seeking fame and fortune elsewhere. Michael Gardyne, of Ross County “fame”, has been brought in from Dundee Utd. on loan to replace fans favourite Paul Heffernan. Killie too have budding internationalists, namely playmaker and fellow Northern Ireland team mate of Billy's, Sammy Clingan. He will pose a threat and will look to feed Gardyne who in turn will seek out Boyd. This trio then will have a big say in how the game will go. Former ICT keeper Reguero will be watching some Brill action from the bench. The latest player to try to resurrect his career at Rugby Park is none other than Nacho Novo who has been on trial along with Ismael Bouzid the former Hearts defender. £30,000 was the fee Killie paid QoS for Johnston’s services after he pipped Terry to the PFA Manager of the Year award. He will be desperate to chalk up his first SPFL win and give the home fans something else to celebrate other than Macklin's shares. Finally, and perhaps most importantly, is the star of the show: the Killie Pie. This scotch pie is, in fact, a steak pie, made with scotch beef. Signed from Brownings the Bakers of Kilmarnock, voted by football fans as the best pie in British football, on more than one occasion, and most recently fourth best half time treat in European football. It has 2230 likes on Facebook, and has finally achieved national distribution in Scotland through Aldi & Spar. Here's the Inverness fans in good spirits despite the 3-0 reverse in the cup, but extolling the virtues of the Killie Pie nonetheless, courtesy of our own dewsburydude On a more serious note, Kilmarnock's impressive second half against Motherwell and the front line pairing should give Killie belief they can go for a win in the the game. Inverness will have to keep their standards and hunger high to come away with a win, something no doubt they have targeted for Saturday, along with some fish & chips at Aucterarder.

  9. Well done Mr F, Manager of the month should go to Lennon, as he managed to get a draw against ICT, that is pretty impressive, no one else has managed that.

    • Montrose 0-0 Inverness CT - Play Off 1st Leg
      FULL TIME: 0-0

All to play for on Saturday, but don't hold your breath...

However, if we continue like this, it will be our final game this season.

Best performer for us was Samson Lawal, the only bright spark on the field.

Alloa 2-2 Hamilton was the other semi-final score tonight. On this evidence, I doubt either side will be quaking in their boots.

    • Inverness CT 3-1 Morton - Report
It was a lovely evening for a game of football, what could possibly go wrong? Well, what did go wrong was Queen's Park beat an understrength Airdrie 2-0 at Hampden, therefore despite beating Morton 3-1, Inverness head for the play-offs. Morgan Boyes opened the scoring with a thumping volley after half an hour. Kirk Broadfoot benefited from slack defending to level before the break then proceeded to earn the wrath of the home support with an embarrassing celebration in front of the North Stand. Cammy Harper relieved Billy Mckay of penalty kick duties and duly slotted home from the spot ten minutes after the break. The scoring was completed just after the hour when Sean McAllister drilled home into the bottom corner. Robbie Muirhead had been sent off for simulation then taking a wee fit to himself and was promptly sent off after 58 minutes just after Harper had knocked in his penalty kick, probably aggrieved that he never earned a spot kick for his dramatic dive.

Well, where do you start. It was clear from the begining of the season that something was wrong. Poor signings, dismal performances in the League Cup followed by an abysmal start to the League campaign saw Billy Dodds removed from his position after winning one point in the first six Championship fixtures and replaced by a man with no track record as a manager. A sort of publicity stunt if you like. After the initial new manager bounce wore off, we found ourselves little better off with Big Dunc than we were with wee Billy. We did claw ourselves up to the coat tails of others but the most damning part of our season has been our inability to score goals, especially at home. Only already relegated Arbroath are worse than us. Our team is now full of mercenaries, loan players with no affiliation to our Highland pedigree and many fans have tagged us as being the worst squad ever in our short history. Where are the Golabeck's, Tokeley's, Wilson's..... Much of this can be attributed to our lack of financial nous in the boardroom, failed ventures and now the begging bowls are being put in place to save our club. Having drawn at Dunfermline last week thanks to Aribim Pepple's first goal for the club combined with Billy Mckay's penalty miss, it's now out of our own hands. LAST SIX: D L  W W L  D

    • Dunfermline 1-1 Inverness CT - Report
Out of our hands now: It ended in disappointment for the 319 visiting fans with news that Queens Park had hammered Arbroath 0-5. To rub salt into the wounds, Sheridan and Welsh were amongst the scorers. It's out of our hands now, but it's a must win next Friday and hope Queens Park falter.  Inverness play Morton and Queens play Airdrie. A draw might be enough, but it's a long shot.

I'm not convinced that Billy Mckay was the right man to be taking that penalty, his second failure from the spot in successive games against the Pars.

    • Dunfermline Ath -V- Inverness CT - Preview
Aaron Doran looks likely to have pulled on the Caley Jags strip for the last time after limping off against Raith Rovers last Friday. Sean McAllister returning was a bonus though but the mystery deepens as to why Roddy MacGregor, Austin Samuels and Nikola Ujdur are not featuring either on the injury list or the team list. Baffling to be honest as Roddy has the midfield attributes required, Austin has the speed and potential and Nikola in my opinion, if fit, would be my first choice on the team sheet. Are these guys on the way out? Add to that seven or eight loan players, then next season will see a massive restructure and rebuild at the Caledonian Stadium. I imagine the board members are squirming in their seats like Angela van den Bogerd at a Post Office inquiry.
