  1. More specifically the obscene amounts of money poured into the elite leagues by television has ruined the game. I remember the days when a top professional footballer got paid about the same as an experienced hospital consultant. Now the top players earn as much in two months as a doctor could expect to earn in an entire career. An obscene distortion of priorities driven by TV money.

  2. Without being political, the MPs actions are the worst by an elected representative or one of their advisors during the pandemic. She must resign and speak out publicly accepting how wrong she has been. Her actions risked the lives of many, and goodness knows how many more will be at risk due to people ignoring the rules due to the actions of supposed leaders like her. We are in a battle against the pandemic. Sheer stupidity like she has shown makes our chances of beating it poorer. Her party is right to decry her, but she should have known better and not got in this position.

  3. Since this season's one has been scrapped it would make more sense to have this final played next April or May when there might be a better chance of having fans there.

  4. Took this last week at Loch Fleet And this one is 3 years ago with Mrs Mantis showing the scale of the thing. Far too windy to pee on it that day, too many blowbacks.

  5. Suddenly two quick goals so 2-0 just before half time: Robbie Thomson and Daniel Mackay. Mackay crossed for the first and won the penalty that he scored for the second. 49 minutes: Harry Nicolson sees his free kick from about 25 yards tipped wide 65 minutes: Good ball from Brad Mckay finds Daniel MacKay in the middle. He does well to get a shot away but his effort was wide.

  6. Like you I belong to a generation where you got maybe the cup final and the odd international live, and that was a treat. So I think the televising of league football is a no-no. In fact I think television has ruined the game but that's another argument.

  7. Margaret Ferrier MP(at least for now) should hang her head in shame. Just what sense of entitled privilege possessed her to break the clear and unambiguous rules thus putting others at risk and undermining the vital public health message ? Her actions were as bad as those of Dominic Cummings. The saving grace is that, in stark contrast to the attempt firstly to cover up Cummings's actions and them try to explain them away with some fairy tale explanation, her actions have been condemned by all in her own party, not least the First Minister, and the quickest and most punitive action taken. Were you watching Boris ? True leadership of which you are utterly incapable.

  8. I kicked Sky Sports in to touch about 5 season ago. BT Sport soon followed. The later was ok initially as being a Broadband customer if was part of the package. I knew this wouldn't last long and sure enough BB customers could have it for 1/2 price. With both Sky and BT I only ever watched the football and very little else so VFM was pish. My TV footy now is limited to council TV and Alba (scottish council TV)

  11. It's an additional set of channels that you sign up to on their website. It costs from £9.99 a month and you can watch it on your TV or with their online player. https://www.premiersports.com/subscribenow I think if you want it on Sky it costs £11.99 a month. Scot Gardiner talks about streaming in The Wyness Shuffle podcast (skip to around the 13 minute mark in the pod). Basically the club are working on a system and have made steps to make this happen. https://thewynessshuffle.podbean.com/e/conrad-fleem-the-replacements-a-season-preview/

  12. That, as you say, is no surprise but a great shame. There is a wealthy Highland philanthropist who ploughs about a million pounds every year to keep his club in the Premiership and credit to him for that. I wish that we had a similarly generous benefactor. However, if he gave a similar amount to be divided amongst the Highland league clubs as a one off that would keep their season alive.

    • Inverness CT 0-1 Raith Rovers - Report
Inverness threatened the Raith goal and but for Kevin Dabrowski and his bar they could have been dead and buried at the interval. No score at the break and all to play for in the second half. Vaughan opened the scoring early in the second half and Samuel almost levelled but his shot from distance cannoned away off the post. The crossbar was hit a further twice but the goal would not come. Despite peppering the Raith goal, MotM Dabrowski would not be beaten with a string of saves ranging from brilliant to miraculous.

    • Inverness CT -V- Raith Rovers - Preview
The great escape coninues on Friday night at the Caledonian Stadium as we host Raith Rovers in a game that will also be screened live on BBC Scotland with Raith trying to cling on to the coat tails of Dundee United and the Caley Jags looking to slither away from the play-off zone. What could possibly go wrong? Savage and Carragher will be joined in the squad by a welcome returnee in Sean McAllister who has returned fit from Everton after about six weeks out. That's a nice wee bonus for Big Dunc. However, he has the wrath from Arbroath after his "tools down" comment in his pre-match interview. As long as he has not got the wrath from Raith. Keep the faith!

    • Queens Park 0-1 Inverness CT - Report
Massive: Just under 1500 fans rattled around inside the national stadium for the proverbial six-pointer at the bottom of the table with Inverness looking to get out of the play-off place and Queens one point ahead at the start of the game. In a tense first half Cammy Harper scored a stunning free kick after Cillian Sheridan had handled 25 yards out. Boom! That's how it ended despite QP upping their game in the second period as Inverness kept them at bay.

Hampden Calling: Carragher is now a doubt after feeling his hamstring. Other than that not much has changed apart from Remi Savage, who has not recovered after he got a boot in the face from Cammy Kerr. Apparently Kerr's boot is OK but Savage is suffering from minor concussion and will miss the next couple of games. Maybe that was Kerr ensuring he gets a game this weekend.

    • Inverness CT 2-1 Arbroath - Report
Smokies Kippered: On a blustery day more akin to AA Milne and Winnie the Pooh, Arbroath and Inverness battled it out to see who would get the final nails hammered into their coffins. Arbroath were in the last chance snug in the last chance saloon, whilst Inverness have one foot in the grave. I don't believe it! Arbroath tried everything, they even took their own wind with them. However, they had Murray, Bird and Slater on from the start but O'Brien missed out. Zak Delaney also started for the Red Lichties. A bright opening spell saw Alex Samuel denied twice inside five minutes. Once by a combination of Max Boruc and his crossbar, the second by Boruc on his own as Samuel got his shot away from inside the box. Wallace Duffy got the goal we deserved on the interval as he drove across the keeper from the right side of the box to put us in ahead at the break. Leighton McIntosh restored parity on the hour as he drilled home from eighteen yards, but Alex Samuel won the points with a late strike to all but relegate ten man Arbroath who had Ricky Little sent off.
