  1. If Falkirk go down what are the bets on John Hughes going down with them. That would be a shame.John Hughes has put a power of work into this club since he went there, is always up front and directly honest and a person I have no doubt the players can trust. He deservs more than a thank you and a polite kick in the rear I think. If it were to happen I wonder where he would go.?..Falkirk's loss might be some other club's gain--he is a very passionate, knowledgeable football person .
  2. A stalwart indeed.
  3. Shades of Gretna.
  4. Here we go again. Feb 8, these stair walls are filled with faces but I quit early on since the more I look the more faces I can see and I know you can't see anything anyway and are very sceptical. Remember my mantra--look for the eyes and the face will swim into view... There are also animals, namely cats and dogs (one had floppy ears and another was definitely a dark, probably black , mastiff with a strong pointed face and a mean look--at first I mistook it for a bear ). There is also a pretty young woman or girl about eighteen in the first picture above the white patch on the right. She has golden hair pulled from her left to the right which curls into a large lock on the right cheek in line with her right eyebrow and a small arm with a hand attached leaning on her right shoulder.A figure behind her also has it's left hand over her right shoulder which is in a posture of affection or both hands may be about to strangle her. Tulloch Castle was a stronghold of the Bayne family and is known to be haunted. If you want more of the same I'll think about it. But remember the second Pimple Mantra--be careful what you wish for, you might get it.........
  5. This is very interesting--believe it or not I have written to the club on two occasions in the past 8 months suggesting they look at Dwayne di Rosario, once when he was with Houston and was such an outstanding , constantly in the thick of things, always on the go, player and once fairly recently when he was with Toronto. Not only did I extoll his virtues but stressed the potential future advantages in setting up a link with an MLS club such as those two mentioned here. Houston has a stadium where they can pack in upwards of 36,000 people and Toronto to my best knowledge has a stadium with an over 20,000 capacity so the thought of inter club games, tours (like Celtic and Hearts made in the last few years)and loans of players and so on, to me made perfect sense. Particularly since it raises the profile of the club (ICT) in the International arena AND raises the club profile at home by showing the local fans that this is a progressive, forward-looking, dynamic entity with fresh ideas and really looking for talented players wherever they may have come from. The result ? Nothing as far as I know. I did not receive a reply from anyone at the club so I have to conclude that they are not as interested perhaps as I had hoped they might be and do not require suggestions or advice from anyone overseas also perhaps. Being, as always, diplomatic Scarlet Pimple, will only say ...Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm?
  6. Service packs -----are they not designed to make sure you have not missed important security updates?
  7. The difference can be summed up in one word--character. The question is " does D Imrie have it ?'
  8. What if he went to Methil and fell down the defunct Wellesley Pit on a sight-seeing tour and was never seen again? Nah! I think he should take the Liberian job--his life will be much more exciting--sand, sun and more sun , lots of colour --John would fit rightin since he is a flair man with lots of colour.. And forby if he went off on a vacation on a Liberian Tanker his adventures would never end--hi-jacking by pirates, ransoms, rotting somewhere as a prisoner of the pirates, being sprung by an American Marine raid in the wee small hours of a bright moonlit night, falling in love with his cell mate, an Arabian Princess thrown indelicately into the same cell whilst awaiting deliverance by the payment of ten million dollars by her Dad the Sheik of El Alamein -what a life eh? :thumb04:
  9. Regrettably that will be a very expensive 2 years. And I agree with Caley D's comment above. If Mr Barrowman needs the ball to be played to him in a role as a poacher and the chances of his being successful in that role this season are remote what is the point of retaining him in the team? Sorry but we need a player up front in his position who is willing to work for the ball in stead of waiting for it to be played to his feet. And that means that he will have to get back to forage which is a pipedream.
  10. And when I was a Bank Inspector for the Royal Bank of Scotland they forced me to travel first class on British Railway for six years---I am so ashamed! But then again when I was younger and spending hours at night each week counting notes and stuffing pay bags for the wages of the miners in the coal mines in Methil and District I never got paid a red cent in overtime. What can I say?
  11. OOOH! We are getting testy today aren't we? I agree with the lady though--- that ironing crack was uncalled for and NOT very gentlemanly. The problem with Lionel, spelt with an "e", is the same as the problem highlighted in the movie "The Sound of Music"....what can we do with a person like Maria? Every time he is criticised for making a boo-boo he saves a certain goal with timely tackles or a brilliant header past the left hand post (this one courtesy of the BBC highlights of the St Mirren match). So he is human?---well, does it not add to the spice of the game? If his overall summary position is therefore neutral where is the fault? And if there is a shred of truth in the accusation that Granty's game is suffering because of his heartfelt reponsibility to look after Lionel then why does he not simply look after his own bailiewick and get on with his actual duties and leave Lionel to sink or swim? Either way I think Lionel will still end up being Lionel---and if he does not stop this kind of play I will never be able to stop agreeing with Manfer..... GOTTA LOVE HIM !
  12. I think the kids should be let in for the same price I had to pay when I was a very young fan---six pence.
  13. Why don't you write and tell them exactly what you have written on here. Might be the turning point in their plans to move to a new stadium ----and spend money on that which otherwise they could have spent on new players....smile.
  14. Scotty I have sent the screen shot as requested to your caleythistleonline email address. Scarlet
  15. O.K.-- But I think they actually are banner ads rather than pop-ups. But when the drop down lists appear they don't move but simply sit there hiding half the list.
  16. My assessment of Blair , based on facts, is that he was an unmitigated hypocrite who blatantly feathered his own nest from the public purse of Britain whilst determinedly refusing to acknowledge the right of expat pensioners who dared to live in former Commonwealth countries to the same annual uprating of their pension as all other British pensioners, whether expats living in Israel or Germany, or in the U.S. for that matter. The net result of this unfair policy of course is that such expats living ,for example, in Canada will receive the same pension amount at the date of their death as they recieved in the first month of their receiving the DSS pension , despite having paid the same rates of premium into the scheme as any other British person. Meaning a slow decline into poverty and if it was not for the Canadian Government having the compassion to supplement their pensions from the U.K. they would ultimately be destitute instead of simply just very poor. And bear in mind that although most of them have now died out this group includes veterans who fought in both past world wars all to protect Great Britain and the lives and way of life of all who followed them. Oh , and just before we leave this, guess who shared the Chambers in the Law Courts in London prior to that self same judge finding in favour of the British Government when the Canadian Alliance of British Pensioners sued them for refusing to allow parity of income ? Well, no less than Blair's wife, Cheri. !!!!! But then again they are just politicians whose main aim in life is always the question of getting votes, not the actual welfare of those they "govern"......
  17. Scotty/Don Despite having pop-ups deleted every way I can, I still experience pop-up ads on the site at the top of the page. These ads cover the drop down lists that appear when you click the various headings at the top of pages and I wonder why? I understand fully that these ads may be needed to pay for the site expenses but if they obscure the drop-down lists is this not a bit counter productive.? S.P.
  18. Birdog--I see you may be on acid now? Acetalsalicylic acid (ASA). Please clarify since we can't have any druggies on here you know. This is a top site an' all.
  19. Has anyone had experience of Internet Explorer 8? It appears to now be out of the Beta stage and I was wondering if I should dare download it as an upgrade to 7. When IE7 appears to be working as well as Microsoft allows then idf it aint broke why fix it. I do admit that it is a quirky and often really frustrating browser but will the IE8 be any better--sure to be more complicated, not more simple, and probably takes up more space when running.? Finally I have a browser which is darned slow and I can't fathom out why it takes so long to bring up sites. Downloads also are blindingly fast--21,000kbs whilst uploads are anything but at about 429 kbs. Shaw Cable says my download speed is really really fast and also says the upload speed is about where it should be although I can't understand where they are coming to. Anyone have any comments ?
  20. I agree with you Buckett--I can't see a move to the Bught as being viable due principally to traffic concerns and congestion.
  21. Caley D --you do have an exciting life.! That's why i like you!
  22. Jimmy Calderwood--always entertaining. Has a bit of an explosive personality though. I like him. Oops, has someone already said that? :thumb04:
  23. They went to Madame Tussauds for the picture...........Smile.
  24. Has a really decisive and accurate shot on him that is for sure.
  25. Where is IHE when you need his opinion? Probably would be only about the bleeding Aquifer anyway...sniff ........LOL
