I in IHE---"indelible; no matter what you say or do you can't rub him out. No offence IHE ..

I take it that the High school was the Inverness Technical School in my day Scotty ? I am sure you will remember

Say nothing negative this season and support him to the hilt. Result--possible great success. If not, everybody walks away with their head held high, knowing that they all did their best.

British voters must be a very tolerant lot to countenance such rottenness and theft without resorting to violence which seems to be the only way nowadays to get anyone in power's real attention. Not that M.P's in this country are hugely different.Their salaries are $150,000 dollars per year plus a very generous expense allowance plus all their office and staff costs met plus free flights back and forth across Canada and so on. But you don't often hear of such cynical exploits and what amounts to barefaced amazing outright theft by them perpetrated against the taxpayer. Do the words upright, integrity and honesty mean anything any more in today's society? In any country?

Well said Scotty! B)

In recognition of the fact that Renegade once agreed with the views of the Scarlet Pimple one is honour-bound to support him. As a relatively new poster of some brains (currently not quantified on the Richter Scale), a modest level of acumen and an ongoing critically acclaimed outgoing desire to contribute to this Forum he should be cosseted, loved and uplifted by a large measure of positive feedback on a daily basis. Cutting remarks at his expense are foreign to the concept of fairness which no doubt would be much admired by one IHE not to mention all overseas fans who will applaud anything that gives them a greater insight into the goings on at Tulloch Caledonian Stadium, lightens their burden of ex-patriation, increases their awareness of how courageous they were at one point in their lives by having seized the nettle and emigrated, keeps them off the pot by engendering a higher level of excitement in their poor miserable lives and completely satisfies their constant need to be known, admired, revered and appreciated. Reneg-Ade is a somebody, fathered by a gent whose first name was Gator out of the filly Lemon-Ade and is about to be entered in the 3 O'clock at Haydock Park by Canada Bob who has an eye for a winner. You can bet your life on it! And if you read Canada Bob's name backwards you will find out why because he sure has ...had a knack for pickin a winner in times past. What one cannot understand ,however, is whether Figians are from outer Space or Fiji and whether or not the above-mentioned large black guys wear an equally large fig leaf on the outside or inside of their rugby pants or is all this just a fig-leaf of one's imagination? Regardless, does anyone on here the noo really give a fig.....? That is, figurately speaking ,like............ What do you say C.Bob? :018:

Yep There is many a slip twixt cup and lip and remember the fabled words of many an embattled King of yore--"a hoss, a hoss, my kingdom for a hoss". Not to mention that well-worn maxim...." there but for the grace of God go I" The problem is that we, ICT, have not only gone there but , unfortunately, have ARRIVED. Battle is on.

She goes out with Ian's brother of course. Did you not even know that ? :024: Goodness......!

Yogi is not stupid at all. He is very astute football-wise and he is smart enough to be able to climb the Managerial ladder. However, I do wonder where he would be this coming season had Falkirk been relegatedf? After all a miss is as good as a mile.

It is well known that Australia has a different viewpoint on how immigrants from a different culture and with a different religious persuasion should be "encouraged" to behave and/or react in their new environment. It's a great pity that the dopes in charge here in Canada have not also adopted similar tough views and policies but it has been well understood that an overwhelming desire to win votes from every immigrant of every stripe by kow-tow-ing to their every whim has led, and is leading, to future perceptions by these people that this country can be used by them to earn far higher wages, a higher standard of living,a means to send a lot of money back to their home country and enjoy all the benefits that are available here such as employment insurance, virtually free top-class medical treatment and many many other tremendous advantages without learning English or truly attempting to adapt to the modus operandi OR adopt the precepts on which this country was founded AT ALL. Examples of this are: East Indians who insist on wearing a large sword from their waist on the grounds that this is in necessary keeping of their religion. However, anybody else who tried walking around with such a dangerous weapon on their person would be no doubt charged immediately with carrying an offensive weapon. East Indians who have forced the Government to allow them wear a turban instead of the standard cap in the pursuance of their duties as an RCMP (Federal Police)officer. Thai individuals who are notorious in this region for buying huge houses , many beautiful, then ruining them by having pot grow ops in the basements. I have seen the inside of two already which were a disgrace. They make hundreds of thousands of dollars by basically refusing to work, or do not want to work, in a day job thus contributing little to the country or the economy etc . Why does the Government allow almost illiterate persons like this to come in to this country then? Because they know that Canadians do not want to work for low wages in menial work but what they completely fail to understand is that the justice system in this country is a soft as butter and not only do these parasites not go to jail as a result of their activities but get off with a slap on the wrist and immediately think that this is the greatest country in which to continue any kind of illegal activity because the rewards sure beat working in a menial job for a living. Australia simply recognises the fact that mixing cultures without a very clear understanding amongst all Immigrants that they must conform or stay in their own country , must adapt quickly and they must be able to contribute in a meaningful way to the existing culture and economy is dangerous and can lead to instability and very negative unforeseen consequences. Thus they adopt a hard policy which is designed to ensure the future survival of their hard-fought and won protocols, their rules and regulations, their vision and so on. In fact it is designed to stop the possibility of future trouble arising -- not to take advantage of Immigrants . Where the trouble lies in lax control and not enforcing strict regulations regarding language etc is simply that these Immigrants for the most part have no desire whatsoever to assimilate or blend in on anybody's terms other than their own. Then their whining voices arise above the quiet majority, fomenting trouble under the false accusation of discrimination because they perceive that the Government cannot be bothered to stop this rot and will put up with all kinds of such protests under the excuse of "we must allow free speech and the right to demonstrate and so on" because they are well fed, lazy buzzarrds who want to fiddle whilst Toronto burns. We have a suburb here, for example, where the street signs are all in Chinese--a classic example of the Municipal Councillors , desperate for the popular vote, kow-towing to the majority of the populace who happen to be of Chinese origin in that suburb. Do you think that there is the slightest chance of a Caucasian getting elected in this area --none whatsoever. We also have thousands of Tamil Immigrants totally disrupting traffic by demonstrating in the streets of our major city demanding that our freely elected Government spend their time, money and energy making all kinds of representations to everybody and their Grannie in the world even if that means that more important issues of a Canadian persusasion are placed on the back burner so to speak. Why is there a perception amongst these minority groups that Canadians should assist them to take the troubles they left behind in their former home countries to Canada and join them in promoting their stresses, hatreds and screaming and shouting just because we arranged for them to come here PRESUMABLY to offer them a better life than what they have left behind. The whole thing is becoming almost a siege for persons of so-called Anglo-Saxons or Caucasian descent. Mosques are springing up all over the country and so on and so forth. Australians are smart and I hope they succeed. PERIOD!

In that unlikely event SURELY it would inevitably fall to John Robertson who is as keen as mustard.

If the few posters on here who are slating T B in a very negative way are considered by many to be rational and fair I will not dignify this thread by commenting further. Instead I will wait until well into next sesaon to pass any kind of judgement on a gent who has hardly got his frigging feet under the table yet to be judged on anything. :33:

Give him a chance you say? The fans here are saying that he does not score which is his job and up to now he does not forage for the ball. A worker can be forgiven for not scoring but a non-scorer cannot be forgiven for not working. You can overlook a one-time knee jerk reaction from him about Van Nistelroy ---ONCE-- but unless he get's off his bottom and looks for the ball then why should he be free from negative criticism by the fans.? Oh, and by the way, I have seen him in action myself at Tulloch and I did think he was either inconspicuous or lazy ---or both. And his pay cheque is heavy soooooo expectations are surely that he work HARDER next season......eh? Scarlet Person

Currently I am still waiting for some inspiring news. Does nobody of talent and quality want to sign for ICT or are the officials just keeping quiet about their efforts and plans or successes? What was the structure of Plan B, said by Management to have been set-up to cover the possibility of the team's relegation.? Sure, it's early days , but other teams (e.g. County) have not wasted any time getting a couple of useful, and promising bodies in--possibly because their wages willbe lower than average due to their youth but also in order to capitalise on that youth in the near future as they mature. Fourth---Terry is seemingly very quiet on the whole thing. I sincerely hope that he had plans C and D on the order book prior to season's end and is working feverishly right now (it's only less than two months to kick off friends) to sign the players (?) he had in mind. Since the fans are on edge I hope that a statement will be made by a senior official of the club soon or we may have exactly wha a poster onn here has already suggested---a shell of a team. And what a disaster that would turn out to be---oh my, as Fooitballer's wife would say.
-
So Barrowman wil be staying then? Hope he tries very hard to get on the scoreboard then........ Vigurs at County could be our nemesis then in due course --shudder--who would have thunk it?

There is also a rumour going around Inshes that Dr Who may have to start the Tardis up with a starting handle, since, like him, it is getting on a bit. In fact if he can't actually get it to turn over will it be a tardy Tardis? :allhail:

Not bad post, Reliably Informed --for a "Newbie". Hope the new team is Reliably in form at the start of he new season . Hoch !Hoch!

I enjoyed Scotty's last post on this thread. Common sense and a level-headed approach are really refreshing these days. Otherwise mostly speculation all round on here . And one is still too upset to go for too much of that. I am going into hibernation for three weeks to wake up refreshed and hopefully to find that my memory of last season has either gone completely or at least waned enough to be able to function. Shoot!!!!!!

1. The team were relegated NOT because of the result of the last game but because the PLAYERS did NOT perform all season. Face facts for Fanny Adam's flipping future folks. 2. BUTCHER was NOT to blame --he did a manful job coming in when he did getting the changes required with an unfamiliar team , unfamiliar territory and little money to spend. The team did not lose on points at the end but goal difference--2 HOME GOALS friends, only 2 goals. They could have stopped them going in if they had had a better defence, and they could have offset these two goals if they had had a better forward line or more passion and desire up front. It's 6 and 1/2 a dozen. And they were Home games so how is TB to blame when all the odds are stacked in the favour of the Home team and they blew it on the park. 3. As the BBC commentator said at the end ICT were NOT scoring in the final few games and they were playing RELEGATION FOOTBALL. How could Terrry Butcher be to blame when he was not on the park people. 4. The hysteria on here needs to be blown away and replaced with a good dose of realism. 5. I am going for a coffee. Any positive persons care to join me --the sun is finally out and the Maple trees are nice. :tonguecheek:

It's growing pains, folks, time healeth all. Once the club gets back up this experience will stand them in good stead for future jousts and , hopefully, make them more determined than ever before never to repeat this awful situation and feeling again if humanly possible. Darn it I can't find my hankie , my glasses must be downstairs. I'll just use my sleeve for now. :tonguecheek:

Butcher going soon---not unless ICT get a very large fee? E.g. $250,000. --Remember he is still under contract to ICT and did a good job after he came in so they will never let him go on a whim unless the compensation is really high. That money can be handed to Robbo to get top players if it did come abouit . However, Terry seems a decent man and I think he geuinely is appreciative that ICT gave him a fair chance to make his mark in the SPL again and he also appears to appreciate the people in Inverness and Inverness itself. Every cloud has a silver lining and every debacle also affords an opportunity to learn and grow.. so do not despair.

Studying the table it seems clear to me that the real problem lies in defence. Sacrificing two lesser players to bring in a proven top class player (e.g. in the mould of Dodds of Dundee United) is an absolute must. That is why losing Mihadjuks was probably a money/contract issue--Terry is not stupid and he was a defender remember in his heyday so he should know the score. We lost on goal difference to St Mirren with exactly the same away goal difference but at home they let in less goals than us as I recall. If our defence is solid in the Ist Division , like it once was in Fortress Longman days ,the flair players up front can relax and hopefully have a field day. And Andy barrowman might JUST find his feet and his scoring touch which will increase HIS flair and confidence no end we all hope. But Barrowman is still under contract so this season may be his last chance to make it and get back into the senior ranks of the SPL and in view of his statistics goal-wise he has his fantastic contract to thank I feel for his second chance. All I can say is "go-for-it Andy". For Lionel this could be his really big chance to gain further experience and increase his confidence for the return to the SPL and he could be a revelatioin in the future if this happens. The man has spirit and size, weight and athleticism so ....c'mon Lionel. It's up to Terry to look after his progress--training, skills etc.....and....put him on the left wing, smile. When I first saw the team changes it looked depressingly scary and that sinking feeling of shock and awe returned . But now I can see a great light at the end of the tunnel (I phoned IHE and asked for a psychic reading and he said that's 1,000 quid and I said .."it's cheap at half the price" and Bob was my uncle) and if the spirit of the team can be re-kindled this season it could literally be a springboard for a bright future for ICT. Anyway it's grin and bear it time so let's get on with it and back Terry to the hilt. I knew he and Maurice would stay courtesy of my own psychic feelings but I did not want to mention it earlier at a time of depression which may have affected my vibrations....... :tonguecheek:

Ten tons of Tokely on top of the player, doing his utmost to drag the guy back, and you think he dived? Face facts..... It was a clear red card--unfortunate that it had to happen to a great servant of the club who must now be feeling like a lost sheep ,but it was foul --he had both hands on the guy's shoulders for heaven's sake. Someone elsewhere o her e said .."a rush of blood" . Unfortunately, exactly. It's in the past now though so get over it and move on. Exciting end to the season ; Better luck next time I say.
