  1. Jim Smith who used to play in goal for Caley at Telford Street in the fities was born on.... that's right..... Smith Avenue ; that is, if that is the road almost opposite Dochfour Drive running off Fairfield Road down to Kenneth Street. As for Caulfield there is a Caulfeild Drive in prestigious West Vancouver where the most expensive houses in Canada sit overlooking the Pacific Ocean for the most part. I had a client on this street and the second time I went over to her house I checked the spelling in my job card because I felt sure it was mis-spelled but, lo and behold, there was the road sign looming up with the name showing as Caulfeild Drive. :crazy07:
  2. If Brew wants to keep him why is he not being played in the team? This surely is an ideal time to put him in when he is hungry ....?
  3. Milseome was very sick at the end of the last campaign and probably does not again want to go through the nervous exhaustion he obviously suffered at that time. Who knows, it might cost him his life or at least his future health. Rules are rules , horrific or not, and they must be complied with or changed. When ICT visited Gretna (at Motherwell ?)earlier the attendance was the lowest ever in an SPL game. This league cannot survive on attendances like that which are quite ridiculous for the top league in Scotland and, depite intense passionate feelings arising that say every team regardless of size must be allowed into the SPL on merit, the fact is that one season to prove themselves and make an effort to comply with the rules (in this case) is enough.
  4. Ach! Ish nish ferstein ........ :016:
  5. Sign that man up on a pre-contract for the initiation rites at Codswallop Hall. We are in need of a new Pimpernel recruit and his observational powers are impressive. :015:
  6. Lots of pessimism on here then? I like his style--determination and persistence in spades. Do I also detect a bit of a killer instinct? The only flaw was the blooter over the bar. Seemes easier to keep it under the bar at least. The only thing is can he get up to the fitness stabdars of the first team and turn it on in the SPL? If so, he looks like a GOOD BUY. And your odds are, Canada Bob ....? :015:
  7. I just picked up on this thread again and re-read most of it to re-live the memories.Funny old game this. You can't remember half of your experiences as you get older but somehow a name in the Caley Team just resonates so clearly and all the memories of many years ago come back. Canuck ,I will have to get "into touch "with you one of these days and find out more about your Canadian experiences. Cheers S.P. :sillywave:
  8. Microsoft now tells me to delete all restore points already on the Calendar--then create two or three more. Then try to restore your computer to each of these newly-created points. I did and they all worked so the previous restore points were , according to him, corrupted. Such a simple solution I could hardly believe it. :crazy07:
  9. I have just replied to Scotty's post and I was sayin g that the slowness was the only complaint tyaht I had. The other point I made was that sometimes the reply just disapperas occasionally. Well it has just happened again and the reply went into space?
  10. Hi Sophia Methinks you are very mature for your age. :002: :023: That is if you want to tell us how old you are....? :004: Scarlet is 105 depending on the weather. Today it is cold, wet, icy and snowing and he says he feels 132 and a half. Oh all right then, here is one just for you. A Scotsman just off the boat in Odessa heads for the nearest bar since he has a big drouth on . He sits down at the bar and is enjoying his drink when a big burly Ukrainian docker comes over to him , sits down beside him and in a very slurred speech says ''heh Jock, my name is Vyshinsky Vyshinsky with a hyphen. Whats yours?" Jock knows a good mark when he sees one and replies, cool as you like...." whisky, whisky with a syphen!" :014:
  11. Jailender--nice to hear from you again. Welcome back :003:
  12. Caley and Thistle bit the bullet to merge. They still exist except in a morphed.changed form. Good deal. Clach apparently have not yet embraced the truism that change is constant. The lack of flexibility here is palpable. They should merge with ICT or allow themselves to be taken over . In any other organisation or business if you can't pay you don't go. Even ICT cannot command a hefty crowd on a Saturday so why do Clach persist in living in the past. They always have seemed to me to be an anomaly since the merger. Once the old timers who DO support them have gone this option may well be inevitable. :rolleyes02:.
  13. K.O. tahts eonugh uvee mad yuree pint. No pint innnguilderingg the lillyee Charles if I hiv mad a misssstakkkk please don't correct me ;ave goat a tender vulllnerrabil sid to me. Is thatt K.O. Chjas?
  14. C,mmmmaaaaaannnnnnnnn! It's an Australian player --she's a sheila, mate. Gow onnnn , ask Jock watt, he'll tell yese the wye it is down under. :004:
  15. I always get rotflmao mixed up with a rotten tomato. Shoot, life gets tejious do' it? (2) And IHE is definitely not a PP, he is a peer, the starter of pp's. (3) Sophia is a survivor and a bloody good one --admire your recovery powers,hen..... But if she IS a gender bender I know it is defffo not the squirrell--he had NO sense of humour. Come to think of it he had NO common sense. (4) IHE do you agree :015: (ringing the changes here----like) :002:
  16. Immediately introduce overseas broadcasting via satellite, including the option of selecting paytv video, to all ex-patriates wherever they may lurk in the world; with 20% of the action going to Caley D and Scotty ---retroactively----for their work in creating this fine and entertaining site. :002:
  17. I agree completely with IHE's first two posts. As to the third I feel that anyone who would gratuitously nick gents' pencils on a regular basis causing that kind of mayhem in the process should be sent to a pen-al Institution, nay a Pen-itentiary, -especially if they are to be forced to do pen-ance as a pen-alty pen-ding a judicial inquiry to assess the current state of their pen-ury . And if that lot passes the erudite glasses of our very own Sophia then so much the better, pet. Also--to boot, if IHE were to get his own pencil pinched he would definitely not be able to be a peer....never mind a wannabe Peer Gynt even if he DOES make sweet music to my ears all the time. As for Niculae, seen strictly from the standpoint of a very distant place ,it would appear on the results achieved versus the high wage earned that his signing to replace Dargo and plonk them in has not succeeded. To restore trust with other players, placate them and re-invent parity instanter, pronto quick, a move to club like Hearts that CAN afford his wages would be well worth considering and in the process achieve at least the perception of more equality ---and the big fat sum that Vlad would be willing to pay would not go to waste either. :011: :003:
  18. He came in at 65,000 and went out at 110,000. So the Caley Thistle Bar has been raised and now sets a new higher standard. Give ICT a little time to mature and find their "ranking" here. Rome wasn't built in a day. If we continue to climb up the table you can be sure that Rankin's fee will appear a pauper's bauble compared to what we will get in due course. But some punters on here make some good points too. :022:
  19. Well his team think that he is a king.....as in Chivas Regal :015: Got a mouth on him. And courageous. I like him............. :003:
  20. Maybe the tickets are too pricey.
  21. Your'e welcome Connie. Willie Pickton is going to jail for the rest of his natural life so you are perfectly safe now.! And the RCMP's---nah ,they are just pussies in red serge tunics. OR---pussies in boots. :015: :015:
  22. Maybe Mike Smith might know something about him. Apparently he spent some time at Aston Villa... :014:
  23. Charles... :015: :015: I went down to the Bank to see the Loan Arranger today..does he qualify also? :015: :015: He said "what's it for Scarlet (uses my first name with libertarian glee, the cheeky sod)? And I replied a tad miffed "It's for Caley Thistle , dolt, what else.?" "And Charles Bannerman needs the money for a new mic." "Oh, Charles B." , he says with a beatific smile "He's that Scottish Journalist that does the commentaries and interviews with ICT players isn't he? He's good isn't he, very tactyful guy and has a nice soft accent toooooo..... eh? I said "Yes" in surprise and he replies ""I got tired of you always harping on about how great a team they were so I started having a look at the website and now I am a big fan--so there" And with that he banged down the " loan approved" stamp on the meaningless document sitting in front of him. So off you go Charles and get your new mic courtesy of The Vancouver City Savings Credit Union-just send them the bill, attention of the "Loan Arranger". And all's well that ends well with a smile on our lips. :cdn:
