  1. East Fife won against St Mirren. They have a good team bejabbers. Also few of you probably know that in years gone by East Fife were top of the Pops in Scotland so much so that they were in great demand for friendly games all over the place especially England. When too many games took too much out of the team the performance started to decline thereafter but in their heyday at Methil they were apparently a very strong and great team. Won the Scottish Cup and League etc. Inquisitor--Scarlet you only read that on their web site because you watched them for many years at Bayview when you stayed in Bowling Green Street ,Methil, as a youngster after you came back from RAF National Service. Scarlet--so what? I saw some terrific games there. One of which was so full of ****-for-leather football that it still remains in my memory--Stenhousemuir as I recall. These of course were the days when five forwards flowed forward in unison, like a rugby team and it was a beautiful sight --pass on pass and ....GOALLLLLLL!My Dad who accompanied me to the game said later that he had never seen his son so animated. Hi Dad--still waters run deep ....eh? :016:
  2. The Long Man ...posts ---13 Scotty................ posts----3,491 Case rests.. :018: Long Man if you want to attack the Administrator(s) just mull over this:- Scotty and Caley D have put hundreds, maybe thousands, of hours into setting up, modifying and controlling this website to allow YOU the privilege of commenting in an open public forum. And they do not get paid for this, so you are at liberty to desist and cease posting if you don't like it. But at least be respectful of others rights if you stay.! Indeed these two Admins are , in my opinion, possessed of as much knowledge and common sense as anybody on here and studying their posts going back for years may be a formidable task for you but would be time well invested and well worth while in terms of your learning curve. And don't forget they have just as much right to their opinion as you but significantly they don't end up attacking you in the same vein as you have commented upon their posts. That's it--I will stop whilst I'm ahead and still cool. :33:
  3. Like you Scotty I did the think thing. You are right of course. Nuff said. C'mon Brewster..score a goal, mun. C.mon ICT....run rampant :022:
  4. The Management refs have blown the whistle and they are not going back on this appointment. Believe it Also Brewster has as much to lose as ICT in this new love affair. So, believe it or not (LOL) I fully agree with Buckett's views. Time to get with the programme friends otherwise our beloved Caley Thistle will not benefit from a continuance of this sniping and ill-feeling . Good luck Brewster and ICT. I think he should play against Arbroath and strut his stuff. :rolleyes02:
  5. I,m Craig and I don't want to answer any more questions as you can see I am very busy at the moment. --er..thanks though
  6. I've picked up on your posting earlier and have read your comments. No need to reply on this thread unless you want to make another point or two. :014: S.P
  7. Trained chimps? Good heavens... Well, anyway, we know it can't be Charles because the grammar and spelling is not up to IRA standards. Or should I have said "are" instead of "is" Charles---I am a little confused, I'm only a Pimple ... :016: But anyway (2) what do YOU think of this Brewster appointment Charles? And the shenanigans? I am sure that we will get an even-handed, cool appraisal from you, not overly theatrical or biased one way or another....eh? :023:
  8. The threads are getting better one by one..verging on priceless right now. All it needs is for Sophia and Mee to get into round three and IHE and I will have to change our pantaloons.... :016:
  9. What I would like to learn in due course is whether he is going to get as much as CC, or more, or less as a monthly pay cheque. If less, then there probably will be bonuses or certain strings attached which may prove to be beneficial to the club in the long run. If more, then the Board are simply desperate which I think is very close to the truth because some, or all , of the other candidates may well have turned down the position for all we know. No one doubted his ability on the park or praised him for this more than I before he came to Inverness so it was with a considerable amount of disappointment and a big feeling of surprise that I noted the way in which his statements upon exit belied his immediately-preceding professed feelings for the club. I do not in any way blame him for accepting the offer of a much more highly-paid job with the attendant opportunity of his becoming possibility very successful and fulfilled but the manner of his exit left acrid ashes in my mouth. These ashes are still there to only a lesser degree. If he now came out and said that these statements were ill advised and he was in the wrong and he was now, on reflection, very sorry it would be very gratifying and a first step to his ultimate acceptance at Tulloch. Otherwise I regret to say that I feel that his road could be a hard one which could flare up at any time into passionate negative criticism. Because IMHO the sullen resentment felt at his departure date is still there simmering under the surface because it is related to hypocrisy and ill-considered statements rather than to his his footballing prowess and this cannot be removed simply by a series of good results which simply relate to the football side of the equation. :007:
  10. If the holding of the Supporters' Trust meeting in hindsight has raised a few eyebrows why would it be necessary to call a further meeting to unveil C .Brewster if he is in fact the appointee? Simply protocol? Completely unnecessary unless he is NOT the appointee which seems highly unlikely. Would it not suffice for Management to just say to him--"O.K. Craig, enough is enough, the least said soonest mended so just show up in the morning and get on with it. After all what is there to say now...let's just try to calm everyone down and concentrate our energy on the team and club. Good luck". :029:
  11. Confirm what Scotty said--I was burned too. Many of them take your money and you think that you are going to get live footy but they only lead you into a site which shows many links to the alleged streams and the majority lead absolutely nowhere--I only ever found one site which actually delivered and that delivery was jumpy, stopped and started, no commentary etc. Very frustrating and poor fare. There is also one named [url removed] or a similar name--I think it has gone down the tubes but don't pay any money for any of them. [modbreak=Edited by CaleyD]URL removed as it is not on any list we have of official media partners for football games. Happy to reinstate if someone can prove otherwise.[/modbreak]
  12. Gone! Done and dusted..awa' back hame. Now looking for Paul Le Guen to commiserate.
  13. Kass! :018: Let our fingers do the walking and out team do the talking on Saturday.
  14. Andrei Shevchenko, the flair player of the (former) Eastern Bloc, was transferred to Chelsea within the last year for 23 million pounds---top that then! However, he has struggled to find his feet and form in London and Dynamo Kiev , the Ukrainian champions based in the Ukrainian capital in the North West of the country, has moved to secure his services from Chelsea on loan. Confirming that they are not willing to buy him back but rather are prepared to pay his huge wages they are offering this player an opportunity to once again enjoy first-team football which he has not done at Chelsea having failed to impress there. Presumably he will be more comfortable back home and may end up there again permanently although for him it can hardly be said that the grass is greener over the fence since his wages must make him one of the richest young men in Ukraine where the average wage is about $200 U.S per month. Although I always thought that he was a very good player I was not convinced at the outset of his move to Chelsea that he was worth the transfer fee . But who am I, only a Pimple....? :014: Needless to say does anyone think it is too late for ICT to call R. Abramovich ? :016:
  15. Franklin speaking..... How did you know he accepted the job "at 9.30pm tonight" at 3.07 in the afternoon?????????????? Unless you are a serious rival to IHE for Seer-dom ? :002:
  16. Well so long as he increases the entertainment with some Hankey Pankey, why not. :015: ? Although currently the entertainment level is already way up there..
  17. IHE--oh, you are awful...but I like you And if I am very lucky You ,Me and Buckett will be havin' that bevvy at the Innes before Year end--to drown our sorrows maybe.. sigh...life gets tejious don' it? :015:
  18. May I please go to bed. My brain is overloaded... So....you are saying that Brewster is playing for ICT on saturday and will score the only goal to save us from perdition? ........ Eh? C,maaaaaannnnnnnn ! :015:
  19. NEW BLOOD needed. With no baggage. Unless Warnock can accept a small wage and no helicopter . I am sure the Managers of the club could throw in a SEGWAY to allow him to buzz about like a busy bee. And the publicity of his appointment would be absolutely colossal --would put ICT truly on the map for flair, audacity, courage and vision not to mention the prospect of "happenings" at Tulloch Caledonian Stadium.I am sure that the entertainment level would go up a few notches and it would not be boring..ha?... :crazy07: But to be perfectly truthful it looks like a dream only.
  20. Scotty's two posts in this thread are outstanding and reveal a clear understanding of the issues here. I completely agree with his summation of the Warnock situation vis-a-vis the fact that ICT do not even APPEAR to have approached him....man -oh - man, imagine that. Kingsmills also has a good post. And at the end Clacher Holiday is mentioned in despatches-- only if he reveals his age, though :002:...EH? What bothers me is that Brewster's appointment smacks of desperation---or WHAT? It does not seem to be a reasonable choice so what is the reason for his possible consideration? :024:
  21. It was not so much that Brewster left to better himself--who could complain about that? But he did make certain statements prior to his leaving which contrasted heavily with subsequent statements he made ? In short, hypocrisy which revealed previous insincerity. This is what galled most of the fans. and rendered himas his own worst enemy which was his downfall. I predict that Warnock will not be appointed since I think that his (history) touchline antics and choice outrageous statements have already turned off the ICT Management--the report of the meeting with the Shareholders' Trust mentions cryptically that the appointee's character and "CONDUCT" must fall-in with the standards already viewed as a requirement for ICT senior staff. As for Brewster I suggest that ICT WILL hire him . And will rue the day! :018: And by season's end the team will be in frantic relegation battles and he will not be successful. His playing days are well nigh over and he has not proved to be a successful and BRIGHT manager. A poster mentioned his after-game comments , above, and Charlie Christie was streets ahead in the clarity, lucidity and ambassadorial demeanour department in this regard compared to him. However, if appointed we should support him 100% from the start since every person deserves a second chance. I just don't think in this case that he HAS the character prescribed by our very own ICT Directors nor the smarts to hack it at Tulloch Caledonian Stadium. :symbol_question:
  22. C'mon Clacher Holiday... It's time you published your age on this site --wave the flag and all. :011: It's challenging to try to always consider what every person in the world is thinking about one's posts but if the best we can do is simply to be honest and forthright and let the chips fall where they may then that's not a bad approach is it.? By contributing an honest opinion on this site we emphasise that our opinion and feelings have a valid outlet, are open for review and in essence the act of expressing them is more important that what other people think of them because when others follow our example by responding in kind we always have the option of changing our own minds by reading their thoughts. In short, the expression of opinions results in a balancing process with the object being to get things right. Go on..make my day by saying yes. :023: The fact that the Management of the club may be accessing these forums on a regular or even a semi-regular basis is encouraging because this implies that they are tacitly acknowledging the existence of the fans and , accordingly, their often unacknowledged but important influence on the club. Therefore it promotes a sense of togetherness that is a good thing and makes some of us feel warm and fuzzy. No one likes to be ignored no matter how independent-minded a person we may think we are. Whether they choose or decide to act on what they learn from this scrutiny is up to them but, if nothing else, it is smart PR. Next chapter..... :022:
  23. Of course the Board/Management has talked to Warnock and the latter has just found out that although money might not mean everything to him perhaps ICT's offer is just a tad ...................far too low. :029: So his interest has waned?
  24. Ralph Milne--where did you get your information from...pray?
