I am not writing him off - just remarking that I have concerns whether Rosscoe and Golly can last the pace in the SPL. They both played their parts last season but the SPL is a different prospect. They will be good squad players and that is why TB has been looking for cover in the right back and left back positions.

Thats a rather surprising selection - especially sticking to the old school at the back - Ross deserves the start but I cant see the Israeli and the Spaniard gelling.

Team for Queens
Having seen both the games in Englandshire I would be most surprised - and pisssed - if TB decided to start Eric today - on the bench and on for the last quarter is and should remain his favoured starting position. After his display at Stockport I would suspect that Nick Ross did enuff to be picked again. Blommingstein only really looked a player when he was played just off Sutherland in the second half v Stockport. I am sure that this was not missed by TB either. He is a worker but looks wasted in a wide position. he continually looks to come inside. Personally I dont think that you can play Blumhanstein and Sanchez in the same team. I hope TB goes for yoof from the start and plays Ross and Shinnie wide. Suspect that he may also choose to rotate Esson and Tuffey until the start of the season. Esson is Esson but Tuffey needs the match practice. Central defence picks itself and those two need to get to know each other - Will Gillet be fit ? and I would play Rossscoe in front of McCann. I would go 4-2-2-1-1 TUFFEY MCCANN/ROSSCOE INNES MUNRO GILLET/GOLLY COX DUNCAN ROSS SHINNIE BLUMANSHETEIN ROONEY

Again I suspect that the support of Rosscoe is borne out of respect and reputation. It is not all about playing badly it is about not looking up to the pace, not having adequate ball control, not having composure under a bit of pressure, not being able to pass effectively, not looking confident etc., etc, etc. The players that I have criticised have shown little to inspire whatsoever.

Fair enuff in some rspects but Fleetwood and Stockport are on a higher scale to Forres but on a smaller scale to the SPL. But McCann has not impressed me - neither has Rosscoe, Eric or Sanchez - the SPL is beckoning and we simply need to strengthen in defence to survive. I actually think that the first X1 almost picks itself already. ESSON PROCTOR INNES MUNRO A.N.OTHER DUNCAN COX HAYES FORAN BLOOMINGSTEIN ROONEY

Post Mortem
After a relatively topsy turvy weekend in Englandshire there are mostly positive vibes being experienced down Chorley way. We have two goalkeepers who are going to keep each other on their toes - we have a blossoming and potentially solid central defensive partnership in Munro and Innes - we are solid in central midfield - we have promising youth in Ross, Shinnie and especially Sutherland, Blumstein looks that he could be an asset playing in the hole just off Rooney and we still have the three Dubliners to return. My concerns are both full backs as I am not sure whether Rosscoe and golly have the pace to live in the SPL and McCann has been very disappointing - that could be the chance for Proctor - plus Sanchez and Eric also do not appear up to the SPL. If we are going to buy anybody else it is going to have to be a full back, preferably left footed.

Stockport County 0-1 Inverness CT (FT)
What a feckin marked improvement from Saturday - we ran the game, some nice passing movements and we should really have scored 3 or 4. Witton Albion is in the back of beyond but again the facilities put us in the shade. Grest wee supporters club under the main stand, grub galore inside and outside and would tommy cumming be envious of the conditions of the pitch. The Berwick 17 and the Dumfries 19 looked as if it may have been under pressure but I reckon there were 30-40 Sneckites on display. The first half was really just like a training match. We played some lovely one touch and two touch football but it was all going sideways and backwards and we really didnt look like troubling them in the last third - but they never looked like troubling us. First 15-20 minutes of the second half was first class and we kept control throughout. Sutherland missed a sitter. Rosscoe missed an absolute sitter, Munro almost fired in a great volley, we were always dangerous from set pieces. Great headed finish from Shane, aptly from a great cross from Nick Ross. And Esson had his only real scare of the game at the death and pulls off a great save. We appeared to start off as a 4-5-1 but it ended up more like a 4-3-3 with Blumstein and Ross playing much further forward and giving Shane the support that he didnt get in the first half. ESSON :_thumbup: What a difference at the back. Constantly talking and the defence looked solid and confident. McCANN :_thumbdown: Another poor display. Got caught out of position and for pace on a few occasions. Picked up a knock but I would have hooked him at half time anyway. MUNRO :_thumbup: Another excellent performance - never put a foot wrong and feck me he is playing football out from the backk. INNES :_thumbup: Even better than Fleetwood with a solid performance. Struck up an immediate partnership with Munro - left and right sided - excellernt 90 minutes - never looked troubled apart from one horrendous slice in front of goals. ROSSCOE :_wink: Jekyll and Hyde performance.Started at left back and never looked comfortable. He actually looks much fitter and leaner but he was still skinned for pace on a few occasions. Better second half at right back but again outpaced on a few occasions. DUNCAN :_thumbup: Strolled through the game and in control of midfield COX :_thumbup: Controlled with Russell and probaly just outshone him - especially in the second half. ROSS :_header: Close to MOM - rlatively quiet in the first half but burst in to life in the second - showed some great ball control, pace and mostly great cross deliveries. Grew in confidence as the game went on SANCHEZ :_argghh: Struggled throughout - again picked up a knock but again I would have hooked him anyway. BLUMSTEIN :_header: Another Jekyll and Hyde - He was played wide left in the first half and spent most of the time - ineffectively cutting in on to his right foot and mostly mispassing BUT when he was played in a more central position just behind shane he began to show a bit of class - plus he runs his heart out, back tracks and tackles. SUTHERLAND :_header: Impressed me at fleetwood and even more so tonight. Up on his own throughout but put himself about and gone hold the ball up well. As good a young front striker as we have had in years - as I said on saturday Rooneyesque. GOLLY :_thumbup: Perhaps he came on when we were taking control but he played well. SHINNIE :_header: Young and inexperienced but another that showed promise. How many feckin subs did they take on ??

If ya fancy a hare of the dog just trap on down. Being dog tired should be too muach of a handicap. I suggest thay you get out of the stalls pronto as it is a fave with the locals. I promise not to drive anyone round the bend.

Pre season training
Being the consummate professional that I am there are no friendlies in my calendar - only games that need to be won and performances that are constantly above par. There is no sympathy for players who let down the club, themselves and the travelling support. I was in ma bed for 20.00 on Saturday night and back in the Gym 12 hours later. Application is the buzz word that our players have to start including in their vocabularies. Oh and what pub are we meeting at tonight ??

Fleetwood Town v ICT matchday thread
Good Cod - a good post - we had a whale of a time and what I am herring is that we made a lot of noise. But we treated it like a training game and paid the penalty - if you had travelled to Sneck and witnessed that performance you would have been pissed as well. What a feckin great wee ground though.
