  1. I can confirm that it was indeed Manse Place. And here is another street view close by.
  2. Sorry RIG but you are wrong. As you are aware I have been trying to highlight the Aquifer issue for many years. Fortunately my concerns have been investigated fully by SEPA (Scottish Environment Protection Agency). They have reported back formally to Inverness County Council. The report and its recommendations were presented to the local Environment Committee, highlighting that "A facility is needed because of new legislation banning the historic practice of landfill" and recommending that "the facility is legally required to be fully operational by August 2021". I understand that some councilor called MacWilliam has been given the lead in further communications with SEPA. I can even share some of the concerns raised in the SEPA report - "During periods of prolonged high rainfall, groundwater (which naturally flows towards lowlying areas) can rise to the surface and flood lowlying land and sub-surface structures. Groundwater flooding is rarer than river or coastal flooding and usually occurs in chalk areas. In regard to the Longman site there is a combination of coastal and groundwater flooding, probably due to the landfill practice utilized. Most modern landfills are highly regulated and operated to high standards, posing little risk of pollution to groundwater. Older and closed landfills, such as the Longman site, might cause localised contamination issues. The EU Water Framework Directive is a new piece of legislation. Its aim is for all waterbodies (river, lakes, estuaries, coastal waters and groundwater) to achieve ‘good status’ by 2021. SEPA recommends the use of Groundwater engineering, another name for hydrogeology, which is a branch of engineering concerned with groundwater movement and design of wells, pumps, and drains. Wells, pumps and drains require to be constructed on the Longman site as a matter of some urgency".
  3. I am all for it as it could be a deterrent to the longstanding Aquifer problem.
  4. How do you send a thread to General Nonsense ?
  5. Why the feck has this not been moved to General Nonsense ?
  6. I like a Brazilian.
  7. DOH for Dow ?
  8. You have undoubtedly and unwittingly spoiled any chance of any future action been taken. It is all heresay.
  9. Why can't youngsters these days not simply get chucked out for being intoxicated, loud mouthed or winding up stewards.
  10. At the very least it will not happen, or be allowed to happen again. The people responsible know what the outcome will be and I suspect that many others know who they are. But if they choose to return then they should be confronted and if there is no remorse then it is a simple case of showing them the door permanently. I am not sure that they actually understand the damage that they have done to the clubs reputation.
  11. May as well experiment in a Diddy Cup ? Yes as it will be good to see how some of the other squad players perform and there is evidently a lot for them to play for. Expect the Pars will do likewise but they are still in the League Cup.
  12. Last comment on Polly but there are more immature eggs in every hatch. Would I be right in suggesting that the "abuse" was not a collective chant but the uttering a of the lemmings trying to be one of the boys. It should not be a case of banning them but an adult bollicking and future watching. It sounds as if the game was less than entertaining!!
  13. It is simply a case of "As you Like it".
  14. Here is one for the oldies:
  15. I would have taken 4 points from 6 and 2 clean sheets from the opening 2 games.
  16. https://youtu.be/8Rc-mXIEf0g
  17. Premonition - 1-0 - Hercher (Daniel Mackay)
  18. Far, far, far too young - RIP Herchie and thoughts to the family.
  19. Not with the transfer deadline and Ayr cant ignore the spondoolachs on offer.
  20. Always had a soft spot for Ayr, apart from the damp in the brick walls of the Away end toilet. I predicted 7 points from 9 from the first three games. That now includes an extra 2 from Falkirk but I also suspect that Ayr will provide us with problems, especially if Shankland stays (I will leave that subject to the separate thread). Will Robbo stick to his usual pattern and not change a winning team. I suspect that he may well do although the fitness of Welsh may be a determining factor. I still have doubts about Rooney and Brad and I would go as far as saying that the clean sheet last Saturday was down to Ridgers, Donaldson and Tremarco. Oakley played for his place at Falkirk and was far more effective than Austin. But we need to build up a partnership and I suspect that those two will start again. It is the midfield system and shape that worries me. Will Doran return now that there is a grass surface ? If not who is the playmaker ? Shall we keep playing Polly out wide ? Are Trafford and Chalmers the answer to the defence minded pairing ? Well I would go Doran - Polly - Welsh - Walsh. My only worry would be whether Polly has the discipline not to wander but it is better than wasting him. Welsh is experienced enuff to cover and sit in the hole - I don't think either Chalmers or Trafford have the nous to do that. But Robbo may well go same again.
  21. I don't expect Shankland to be still with Ayr at the weekend. I can only see Dundee lifting their offer. That would be a bonus but we then will have to deal with Crawford, Murdoch and Kerr. Ayr are apparently playing with freedom at the moment, new boys with confidence and in a bit of a "no lose" situation.
